  • Excellent Protection - Well Engineered with Excellent Construction
Color: Black
I travel quite a bit - and this case is exceedingly well thought out. It's build quality is excellent and I feel confident that my 45 year-old Burbank Benge (or other horns) are safe. I carry my practice mute, valve oil, tuning fork, cleaning cloth, and spare lead pipe in the side pocket. The main section of the case houses my horn and mouthpiece. The two enclosure zippers are protected with a velcro flap. There are other little details that demonstrate this company really takes pride in their product. I highly recommend this case. UPDATE: After a lot of use with several overseas trips, I give this case the highest recommendation possible -- especially considering an event that happened last weekend. With one of my favorite horns (formerly owned by Arturo Sandoval) in the case, I watched in horror as it rolled off an elevated table and hit the floor with a thud. To my great relief my trumpet was unharmed. I would give this case more "stars" if I could. The best! ... show more

  • I LOVE this case
Color: Blue
I've been playing trumpet for 15 years. I bought this case back in 2013, and have been using it ever sense! I LOVE this case. I bought it because the case my professional model, Yamaha trumpet, came is was just so bulky and heavy and I wanted something smaller and compact. This fit the bill. It's been put underneath tour buses for our University Band tours, put in my trunk, put in overhead bins in airplanes and it's still running strong! It's the perfect snug fit for my trumpet, and it's extremely sturdy. I'm actually looking at the Protec backpack straps currently, to add to it! I highly recommend this case . These pictures are current pictures to show 4 years of use! ... show more

  • Easy to pack, easy to carry
I like the fit for my Holton trumpet and the room I have to store mouthpiece pouches, etc.. The adjustable shoulder strap is wide and fits comfortably. My brother (who is much better a trumpeter than I am) often complained about my older soft black gig bag as being a poor quality item. The original hard shell Holton case (ca. 1940s) is very musty and dusty and I doubt if it is worth bothering with as a restoration project. My brother hasn't seen this new one yet, and I'll bet he'll be surprised! ... show more

  • Compact, light, and sturdy, Great features and quality
Color: Blue
When our middle-school trumpeter switched schools, we needed a new case because the original was too big and heavy to store in a school locker, and hard to drag around to frequent rehearsals and practices. After researching opinions not just from other school families but also professional musicians, we chose the Contoured Pro-pac case. We're very satisfied with the quality, appearance and functional design. This model has wood reinforcement, inside all the padding, to protect the instrument against potential hard knocks. It feels very sturdy, while being much lighter than the original. Other cases might be lighter but you have to trust padding alone. This one seemed to be a better compromise for the safety of the horn. The outer surface seems very durable and is holding up well in its first several weeks of use. The closure system helps ensure that the case stays closed, and the zippers work easily. The main carrying handle is in a well-balanced position, plus there is another handle to carry it vertically as well as an optional shoulder strap. That strap is ideal for a student (or anybody else) who may already be wearing a backpack or carrying other things by hand. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the case has hard rubber feet on two edges. These allow it to be set down either horizontally, or vertically (bell facing down). In both positons, the case is balanced enough to stay upright on its own. There is a cup - basically a reinforced hole within the case -- to hold the mouthpiece. The cup is just deep enough for the length of the mouthpiece, which touches the bottom of the case when stored. If the case were totally perfect I'd wish for at least a little deeper slot there, but it has not presented any problems so far. There is one outer pouch, with a couple of small pockets inside it. It is handy to have space for valve oil and other items, but you can't fit any conventional size music in it without folding. We have a Bach straight mute, which will indeed fit in the pouch -- but just barely. It really protrudes, and with no padding there, the mute has no protection from impacts. I would avoid using the pouch this way if possible, but it seems others don't mind. One is giving up the storage capacity of a larger, heavier case for the sake of portability, so this pocket seems a reasonable compromise. In sum, this seems an excellent choice if you need to "downsize" from the manufacturer's original case, or decrease the carrying weight, or both -- without sacrificing strength or protection. And the real clincher for our purposes is that this case fits in a regular full-size school locker -- in fact, to keep it from sitting on your books you can hang it from a coat hook if the locker has one, using the carrying handle on the end. I see various comments from owners of Bach Stradivarius trumpets -- in my opinion this case fits a Bach Strad perfectly. The padding hugs the bell but that's how it's supposed to work. The horn slides right into place. The original Strad case has a lot of space around the horn, which may throw off their expectations when switching to this design. Also note that the older case has two mouthpiece cups and space to store scads of accessories. Making the switch to this Pro-Tec case, Strad owners will lose that voluminous storage space but get a far more convenient and portable case that will take the instrument from point A to point B safely. ... show more

  • Beautiful Handsome Trumpet Bag
I ordered this bag on a Monday, got it on Friday. Really great with the holiday traffic and all. This bag is awesome. Big heavy duty zippers, shiny pulls. The outside is very durable material and it will last a lifetime, For me at least. Great storage pocket on the side with two compartments for the smaller items like, AAA batteries for my stand light, business cards, chap sticks, etc. it is long enough to also put a conductor baton in there. The inside is so royal looking. RED! It makes my gold Bach look like a million dollars. Plus a slot hole for my mouth piece. My horn fit like a glove in there. Tight, no giggling around. And the carry strap is wide with a nicely padded sliding shoulder pad. The hooking clasps are heavy weight and also very eye catching. I'm giving it a glowing review, because it is an awesome bag. Don't need to look any further if you are carrying only one horn at a time. I also own another gig bag made by another manufacture. It is also a great bag, And I love it. Has nice features as well, but this bag is a cut above. Now I have a chocolate color and a red color. Easy to see which horn I grabbing. I'm set to go now. ... show more

  • Good Protection for a Fairly Small Case
Color: Blue
Smaller than an earlier purchase of a Protec case and it works with the same backpack straps as dd the other. The color is nice making it a bit easier to spot amongst a crowd of black instrument cases and the protection is good. Handles a sewn on very well but the life of the zipper is what will have to be evaluated. A straight mute will fit in the side zipper compartment but don't expect it to be protected from a drop or side impact. ... show more
