  • Must have line disconnected to use this.
Size: 3/4" I.D. Style: 3ft
I have always had good experiences with DEI products but I think this listing is a little misleading. When you look at the listing there is a video which very clearly displays velcro on the product. This would indicate that the product can be applied to lines without removing them first which isnt the case. Again the product is a great value and performs well but I think this listing could be a little more clear. ... show more

  • Heat protection for trans lines close to a header.
Size: 3/4" I.D. Style: 3ft
I got these for my transmission cooler metal lines that run right next to my new long tube headers to keep the lines/trans fluid as cool as possible. I used these because I had the transmission out for a rebuild and could slide these over the lines. ATTN: wear gloves when installing these because there is fiberglass in these and it will get all stuck in your fingers and annoy you for days (don’t ask how I know). These weren’t as flexible and bendable as I was hoping to go around the prebent metal trans lines and as you do flex and bend the product the aluminum foil exterior starts to tear and crack. Overall I hope this helps to protect the trans lines and keeps them cooler. ... show more

  • It's ok
Size: 1/2" I.D. Style: 3ft
So far so good - it's heavy cloth with reflective coating. The coating is bonded well - doesn't flake off or separate. Just a few things - note in the photos how frayed and sloppy the material and stitching is in what you receive versus what they show in the ad photos, all nice and clean. Very sloppy. Will it last? Bummer. Also, it is sewn with a rather large flap of extra material on the side for the length of the tube making it appear almost twice as wide. They should use a sewer that allows the tube to be all that is exposed rather than all that extra material. But Ill look past that. .Also not sure why it needs a huge name tag on it but I'll trim that off. Will check back in and edit once it has had a chance to protect the wiring near the exhaust manifolds. Hoping it lasts out here in the AZ oven. ... show more

  • So Far, So Good
Size: 1/2" I.D. Style: 3ft
I needed heat protection for a couple of 16 awg gxl lines I ran to power rock lighting under my off-roader since the wires route past the exhaust man and the catalytic converter. I mean, yes the wiring is a good 6" away, but why take a chance since melted wires will result in a short which can result in fire. This sleeve slid over the wire loom with some maneuvering since I ordered the 1/2" heat sheath and the loom was 1/4", but that was my bad. In the end, this is doing just what I wanted, protecting the wiring from extreme temperatures in the engine bay. Now I haven't taken the vehicle on a good long shake-out run yet, but I will and if there are problems, I will update this review. ... show more

  • Expensive heat protection but worth it
Size: 1" I.D. Style: 3ft
I bougt the 1" heat sheath to protect the exhuast from my diesel heater from melting the fuel line. The cheap chinese stuff works ok but this stuff is much better. The inner fiberglass insulation is coated by a tougher alumnum outer coating. It's very easy to slide over the 1" exhaust tube and keeps heat away from the plastic fuel line. I had an extar 8" and covered the fuel line too so I'm double protected. Highly recommend spending the extra $$ for the good stuff if it's for safety. It's very ewsy to cut with a pair of scissors and it doesn't fray as easily as the cheap stuff does. ... show more

  • It's DEI Heat sheath - great stuff but expensive
Size: 3/4" I.D. Style: 3ft
Look, when you need this stuff, it's worth the price. It works, and does the job of protecting the wires or hoses it's supposed to. I think it's a bit expensive, but you buy this for reliable protection, and that's what you get. Sure, there are off brand stuff similar, but I paid for the peace of mind DEI provides. Used to protect 1/0 starter cable on my LS truck motor from header heat. ... show more

  • Quick delivery
Size: 3/4" I.D. Style: 3ft
I used a 3/4" x 3 feet sheath. It was used around a 0awg (8.25mm) start cable that was installed in close proximity to the catalytic converter. The starter solenoid wires were double shielded, so I folded the 3/4" sleeve and used stainless steel ties to hold the folded sleeve in place around the 0awg cable. + Seems to be av good quality materials. + Good stitching. - Large flap with company logo (Understand logo solution - removed flap for cleaner install) ... show more

  • Nothing's blown up!
Size: 1/2" I.D. Style: 3ft
OK, a bit hokey on the title, perhaps, but that *is* one thing it's intended to protect against, right? Keep flexible fuel lines from getting torched. I have two of these and one wrap-on heat shield running near my new engine, and they're all doing well. I check them periodicially and find no damage. Pros * Easy to use -- unpackage, slide in your fuel line or other heat-sensitive cabling or lines. Put in place. Stay safe. * Accurate sizing. Ordered 0.5", got 0.5". Another one I got was 0.75" and that too was accurate. Cons * Slightly delicate weave -- be careful when handling these, to avoid snagging and pulling threads. This is nothing I think I should dock a star for. The shielding works great. ... show more
