Description

No more time-consuming test-adjusting of the correct opening size. Just position the upper jaw to the workpiece, push button and move close the lower jaw, ingeniously simple. 30% more capacity than a conventional pipe wrench. Self-locking on pipes and nuts due to teeth set against the rotation - no slipping on the workpiece. Pinch guard prevents fingers from being pinched. Adjustment at the touch of a button. Has 18 adjustment positions to adjust to hex nuts up to 1 27/64" and round pipe up to 1 1/2". Self locking on pipes and nuts (view larger). No more time- consuming test-adjusting to achieve the correct size. With the Knipex Cobra water pump pliers, you can simply position the upper jaw to the workpiece, push the button, and close the lower jaw. And you'll also be able to say goodbye to blood blisters you get with other gripping pliers. With safety its first priority, Knipex has designed a built-in pinch guard that prevents blood blisters on your hand. The unique self-locking adjustment and induction hardened gripping teeth means that once it's set, it stays. There's no slipping and no need to waste strength squeezing the pliers — ensuring operator safety and more efficient work. Cobra's unique jaw configuration can grip any shape object — flat, round, hex, or square. It also eliminates nut burring to avoid stripping pipes, nuts, or bolts. Additionally, the Cobra's newly redesigned adjustment provides 30 percent more gripping capacity than previous models.A simple push of the patented push button adjustment maintains jaw size setting and gives you the correct size opening every time. Just position the upper jaw to the workpiece, push the button, adjust the opening, and close the lower jaw. And it's easily done with just one hand for trouble- free operation in confined spaces. Cobra water pump pliers are constructed from chrome vanadium electric steel, an innovative high alloy, oil tempered steel that ensures longevity. And their thin head design helps you get into spaces other pliers can't, so there's no need to change tools when working in tight confines. Patented push button system (view larger).Quality in Every DetailSometimes we give our pliers a really hard time. We try to destroy them to find out what makes them good and long-lasting. Because we don't want to leave anything to chance, we take a long, careful look. The steel Knipex uses is precisely hardened with a maximum of 0.8 percent carbon and defined parts of chromium and vanadium, guaranteeing optimum cutting performance and service life — even though it requires special production and costs a bit more. But our high product demands require this. The rivet of our high-leverage diagonal cutter also has to stand up to a lot of stress. That's why we literally give it backup: we forge it straight onto the pliers. This means extra effort as we have to precision mill the rivet to a few hundredth millimeters. But satisfied users are worth this effort.Knipex also looks closely at the small details. The angles, the sharpness, the hardness, the toughness of the cutting edges. The precision and smooth movement of the joint. The handle design and the finish. We keep reviewing these subjects, we research, we test, and we improve our pliers.About KnipexHeadquartered in Wuppertal, Germany, Knipex is an independently-owned family enterprise steeped in tradition and specializing in the manufacturing of high-quality pliers. It all started back in 1882 when C. Gustav Putsch set up his own forge shop in Cronenberg (now a suburb of Wuppertal), and the company is now run by a fourth generation of that family. The world's leading brand in pliers today, Knipex is focused on the performance, service life, and ergonomics of its tools in order to meet the high expectations of professional users.87 01 180 Cobra Pliers, 7-1/4-InchAt a GlanceAdjustment at the touch of a button directly on the workpieceFast, firm adjustment directly on the workpieceSelf-locking on pipes and nuts: no slipping on the workpiece and low hand force requiredGripping surfaces with special hardened teethPinch guard prevents operators' fingers from being pinchedChrome vanadium heavy-duty steel, forged and oil-hardened See larger image. • I need the bigger version now.
I work on smaller factory machines and this size works perfectly. Bite is strong and durable. Easy to get used to using with one hand. Handle is not thick or cumbersome; It does put more strain on hands but in tight areas, the handle is comfortable enough and does not protrude. I now want to try the bigger versions. Price is justified. Only con is that others from my company may try to steal this from me. ... show more

  • Solid. Better than channel lock
Compact and powerful pliers that keep the right size locked in for any nut

  • Best pliers Ive owned!’
These grip and don’t slip like the channel locks I have. The jaw adjustments need a little getting used to, its a button to release the adjustment pall. Comfortable to use.

  • Best channel locks. The best
There expensive. There more then worth it. So damn good these are. Get them, show off to your coworkers and friends with these. They are super grippy durable and a little skinny and lock on pipe so well you can just attach to a round pipe. Let go and then stand on them and bounce for hard to remove stuff. There made to do that. I've only ever lost these, never broken a pair in years. I love these. Really, I love these. Over 9000 stars. ... show more

  • Smaller than expected
But holy WOW does baby pack a bite! Was able to quickly thread a 1 inch retainer ring onto my truck’s block heater element in a tight working space. Would have never reached it with my hand not could I have accomplished the task with vice-grips or traditional channel locks. Found about this brand by happenstance while reading reviews for other products. Craftsmanship is top shelf. Worth the money. ... show more

  • Excellent!
True to Knipex quality, these pliers are superb! They’re super handy and way nicer than typical Channel Locks because they have more adjustability. They feel sturdy, durable, and comfortable to use. I highly recommend these!!

  • Nice slim profile pliers
Very versatile and good quality as I expect from knipex

  • These pliers are the bee’s knees, seriously the best!
These are my go to pliers, absolutely the best and most used pliers/wrench in my extensive kit! Whenever I have a bolt/nut to turn or need to really strongly grasp something small I start with my Knipex Cobras, specifically my 7 1/4” (180mm), because 99 times out of 100 it’ll get the job done quickly. Whether I have a small part like a stuck cotter pin to remove, or a large 1”+ bolt/nut to turn it can handle most anything! Yes they aren’t the cheapest, but that is because they are quality, they truly are a replacement for many other wrenches and will be with you for life! There are imitators who’ve copied the design, some not too badly (I’ve even purchased a couple to try), but even the best of the competition pales in comparison! I own larger versions of these Cobras, but it’s truly extremely rare that I’ve ever needed to utilize them as the 7-1/4” are so useful and conveniently sized. When affecting a repair on the heavy equipment I maintain I usually have these in my back pocket (literally) they fit perfectly and comfortably and are so useful. If you’re looking for a pair of pliers then THESE ARE THE PLIERS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR! If you’re looking for a gift for a wrencher/gear-head then those are perfect as they will be found extremely useful and will last a lifetime which is something that cannot be said about most tools. This is the kind of tool your future grandchildren will still find extremely useful and perhaps the most cherished hand-me-down/memento they’ll ever receive, even if you’re currently just a kid yourself! ... show more
