  • All the hype is real.
Style: Without cable
I've used the Shure SM58 for 25-years now, and wanted to try this mic out "just for the hell of it." Well folks, I was rather shocked to find that I liked it even MORE than the 58 for vocals, even though it is sold largely as an instrument mic. I found that it added a little more clarity to my voice, while maintaining all the range of the 58. Not only that, but its toughness is legendary and the price is right. So I guess all of the Five Star reviews regarding this little gem were well worth it!! ... show more

  • Industry standard for decades!

Shure SM57 is still a great value in todays world of musical tools when properly applied. Pro quality build and sound at a consistent fair price. Great mic for all most any application, including vocals with a proper pop filter. I received the mic over night in pristine new condition.

  • perfect for recording acoustic guitar
Style: Without cable
I use it to record fingerstyle guitar, it works great. Given its price, I think it is a perfect choice for beginners who want to give it a try. BTW, if you want a better sound, you may use this mic and your guitar's pickup to record simultaneously.

  • It’s a 57 what is there to say

The most versatile mic in the world and can be used for just about anything. Don’t ever second guess a sm57 or sm58 they are an industry standard for a reason.

  • Most versatile mic for the price ...speaking of which....
Style: Without cable
This is pretty much an industry standard mic, along the lines of a "does everything" type. You can record vocals, albeit, it'll be a bit bright, but great for recording guitars and other instruments. One word of caution though; Amazon claims the price is significantly-reduced. Hilarious. $99.00 is pretty much the standard retail price, no matter what store you go to, or online service for that matter. If this model was ever priced at $170.00, it was probably decades ago, when they were first introduced. Great mic though. ... show more
