This mic is absolutely sweet. It really gets a job done. Be sure to stick around for some tips I have when using this bad boy. Pros - Sound quality; This really shines in this field. For you're paying, you get great results. You'll find your voice much clearer. I personally felt this experience very well as I used the attaching mic for my canon camcorder previously. My voice was okay but the background noise prominent from various stuff including the camcorder itself. With the yeti mic, you'll barely notice the BG noise, if you set up your "studio" right. This mic is sensitive as well so be aware of your S's and P's and other high noises in your vocals, I recommend covering a mic with a suitable material or use a pop filter if you plan to be close to your mic. I also used this for some random commentary with my friend and it worked wonders. I also used this once in a video chat with my friend and he really felt the difference because of the lack of BG noise from this mic. - Design; It's simple and effective. You can tilt the mic back and forth to your liking and has a nice set of tightening screws. The body overall feels solid. The knobs are standard for the most part. It also has a mounting screw so you can move it to the mic stand of your choice. The layout of the knobs is also standard. - Features; This thing is so simple, it's really a plug-and-play product. No installing/drivers/CD's of any kind required. Just get that USB cable and plug that sumbitch in. And it works with Mac and PC's, well windows to since Mac's are PC's technically speaking. Anyways, the simplicity in this field is a major praise from me. It comes with four modes, as explained in the description, and they all perform well. I especially love the cardioid mode as I use it for my product reviews, video games as my main focus. There's also a mute button placed in front of the mic's body for simple convenience. This baby also comes with a headphone jack for any headphone or earphone. Cons - Weight; It feels heavier than it should be for me. It feels solid but then again I wouldn't wanna just drop, like all other mics anyway, xP. - Knobs; they may feel okay when you're turning but they are pretty short for my fingers. My hands are more towards the large side. That's really it for the cons. My pros absolutely outweigh them in every way. And because they're just minor design flaws, I'll definitely give it five stars. This is great for fun commentaries, tutorials, reviews, music, podcasts, and so on. Great price and it gets the job done. How can one say no to that? Now here are some handy tips when you first use this mic.... #1. One of most common mistakes is that people used this as a shotgun mic and have point it towards the source, especially during cardioid mode. The sweet spot is the front side of the mic during this mode, the side with the mute button. It can still capture your sound at the point but the full quality won't be there. So tilt the top away from the source, rather than towards the source. #2. If you have external hard drives on your desk and you use that for your mic; move them if possible. Your recordings will be much better as they are always giving a constant humming noise even if they're in sleep mode. Your mic will catch it since the stand doesn't have any shock mounts and it's sensitive. #3. I recommend having the headphone volume at 100%. This will help you see if the sound is too loud or quiet for your recording. Lowering will only hinder you from doing so. Putting it on 100% means you're hearing the exact sound you're going to hear in your recording, if not damn close. This tip may sound a little strange but trust me on this one.
