  • Darker finish than appears in pictures but very accurate, detailed sound.
Darker finish than appears in pictures but very accurate, full sound, especially when paired with the RF-7 iis. I have read reviews that the midrange on RF7s could be stronger, well the RC-64 more than handles that if it is even an issue. My only issue is tha I purchased new for full retail from D.C.-Deals and I received an opened box that had been badly damaged, speaker was ok so I kept it but this is a dishonest business practice to sell used open box for brand new. I just am exhausted with returns and don't desire to fight this one. ... show more

  • The Best Speaker You'll Ever Own!
Color: Black
There is no other speaker such as this, with the incredible compression horn tweeter providing life like immersive sound making movies seem as good as an IMAX theater and music as good as a live concert. You can hear all of the fine instruments in an orchestra clearly and perfectly as if you are hearing them play live in concert. The bass is strong and powerful with the quad 6.5" woofers, pairing perfectly with the Klipsch RF-7 II floor standing fronts and the R-115SW subwoofers for well rounded bass. These speakers are perfect for a Dolby Atmos, DTS-X or Auro 3D setup, to make your home theater a movie theater! The looks of the copper spun woofers and grains of the wood work in black look great, further drawing attention to the impressive woofers. ... show more

  • It adds a lot
I added this to My RF 7-II L and R speakers. My rating reflects going from a 2.1 to a 3.1 setup. If you are looking to buy this speaker by itself then you are probably in a similar situation to me and this review should be helpful. It doesn't by any means reflect a comparison of center channel speakers in the marketplace or even a value proposition because audio is so subjective. When I bought my RF-7s I thought I was making a good choice for music and movies. I don't believe in having tons of equipment all over the place for very specific purposes when one setup could accomplish both things well. While not exactly an audiophile setup they did sound absolutely great: detailed and articulate with room-filling sound and deep but quick bass. Not to mention how LOUD they could get and still sound clean. Makes me wish for a much larger living room. Movies and TV were a somewhat different story. In the modern age of multi-channel audio mixing a center channel into your front LR speakers can easily drown out detail and nuanced sounds coming from screen-center such as dialog, footsteps, the crunching of frozen ground underfoot, etc. Even native 2-channel sources suffer from this. Add to that the problem of reproducing reference sound levels designed for very loud and very quiet sounds in the same scene as is the case with almost all Blu Rays mixed for theater systems with high dynamic range sound setups and a stereo-only setup quickly loses definition. So I started looking for a center channel. I was worried about a mismatch in power between the RF 7s and their huge 10" woofers and the typical 3.5"-4" woofers you see in other centers. I went with the RF-64-II honestly because it's from the same generation/size/quality tier from Klipsch. The RF64-II and their cavernous chamber and 4x6.5" woofers easily keep up with the RF7s and delivers the power to anchor dialog close/center sounds right to the screen. I was initially expecting to have to boost the center channel volume through my receiver but realized it wasn't necessary at all and have kept it at default levels. If you are sitting on RF-7s or other larger 8"+ woofer towers (especially other Kipsch models) for your home theater then the RF-64 II is a great choice that matches well. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it if you aren't already the owner of some large modern fronts. Additionally, it is beautiful. I purchased a B-Stock unit from Sound Sellers. The only difference as far as I could tell was that the holes for the standoffs to tilt the speaker upwards were unaligned. This was not a problem for me as it lies flat in my system but if I wanted to tilt it up it would be a simple matter to buy a pack of sticky felt pads and stack 2-3 to get the proper angle. I feel like I got a great deal. In summation if you have big towers like the RF-7s and a weak center or no center and feel like your movies are lacking, get this. ... show more

  • Exceptional sound.
Color: Black
I upgraded from a very small and weak 50w center channel to this behemoth (50lb!) and couldn't be happier. The center channel is responsible for over half of today's tracks and nearly all of the dialogue (speaking in terms of movies) making it an important speaker to consider for anyone with a 'prosumer' or greater home theater setup. I chose this one over the less expensive RC-62 II to ensure I would not be able to distort it as it is capable of handling 200w of continuous power. I tested my speaker with Rambo with the volume set fairly high and sat back impressed and very much satisfied with my purchase. The speaker itself is built well and it certainly feels as though it is crafted with high quality materials. Its cabinet feels solid as the wood is both heavy and dense. Sound is crisp and detailed thanks to its horn and the 4 cerametallic woofers gyrate effortlessly under load--free of distortion. Finally, the speaker also looks as amazing as it sounds. I have mine deployed without the protective grille and for me, it adds to the character of my living room. ... show more

  • Perfect center channel addition to the home theater.
First lets just take a moment to recognize its beautiful; looks even better in the room, but the fidelity of the sound is really quite exceptional. I pulled out some movies that I knew had scenes where the dialogue was difficult to hear, and it came right through. The vocals tones of the actors dialogue is also very natural. Fantastic addition to any home entertainment system. ... show more

Buyer beware...Great Speaker but likely won't survive the trip to your house. I ordered this amazing speaker, shipped by Amazon, and considering it's cost expected some kind of effort on their part to make sure it would get to me in one piece. Well, I was not so lucky. My speaker arrived all with a small dent on the top of the speaker and 4 of the 8 mounting tabs broken off of the grill. Not to mention that all of the foam inserts are busted into peices and the box is pretty bad off so it would only get damaged worse if I tried to return it. The speaker is amazing but I expected more from Amazon than to just stick a shipping label on the manufactures packaging and hope for the best. Now I have to go to Klipsch and buy a replacement grill...Disappointed ... show more
