Frequently asked questions

Yes, the Moen Arbor touchless faucet uses six AA batteries for the operation of its motion sensors. However, there is also an option available to use an AC adapter if you don't want to replace batteries periodically.

The Power Clean technology of this faucet provides higher water pressure flow resulting in faster cleaning and filling. It reduces the clean-up time by delivering 50 percent more spray power than most of the pull-down and pullout faucets without the technology.

Yes, the faucet comes with a deck plate (escutcheon) for three-hole installation. It can be installed with or without the deck plate, depending on your kitchen sink setup.

MotionSense Two-Sensor refers to Moen's innovative technology with two motion sensors - one on the top and another on the base of the faucet. The top sensor triggers water flow when a hand moves over the faucet, useful when your hands are full or dirty. The base sensor starts water flow when a hand or an object is moved close to it, making daily tasks easier.

๐Ÿš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Moen Arbor Spot Resist Stainless Motionsense Faucet received mostly positive reviews for its sleek design, durability, and sensor functionality. However, some users expressed challenges with temperature control, sensor height, inability for the faucet to turn on automatically when pulled down, and its reliance on battery power. The installation process was largely viewed as easy and straightforward.

Pros

  • ๐Ÿ‘ Sleek and durable design
  • ๐Ÿ‘ Spot-resistant stainless finish
  • ๐Ÿ‘ Easy to install
  • ๐Ÿ‘ Useful sensor functionality for touchless use
  • ๐Ÿ‘ Smooth and quiet operation

Cons

  • ๐Ÿ‘Ž Reliance on battery power for sensor operation with no supplied power adapter
  • ๐Ÿ‘Ž Faucet does not automatically turn on when pulled down
  • ๐Ÿ‘Ž Temperature control can be tricky
  • ๐Ÿ‘Ž Sensor could be accidentally triggered if itโ€™s too low or items are placed too close to it

Should I Buy It?

If you value touchless convenience and sleek design, the Moen Arbor Spot Resist Stainless Motionsense Faucet could be a worthwhile investment. However, be prepared to deal with some slight inconveniences such as tricky temperature control and possible frequent battery changes. If these challenges seem overwhelming, it might be worth considering other options.

  • I LOVE This Faucet!
Size: Value not found Color: Oil Rubbed Bronze
I absolutely love this faucet! The pull out hose is great for cleaning fruits and vegetables, washing dishes and cleaning the sink! When you switch from stream to spray, you can adjust how hard the spray is and you can move the faucet head to be as close or as far away as you need it to be. (Keep in mind that the switch from stream to spray is regulated by water pressure. So, you can't turn the water down to a trickle and expect the spray to stay on.) You can have it turned on pretty low though. We have to turn ours on about 1/4" of the way to full open before we can get the spray to stay on. But that is just about perfect for the spray pressure when you want it soft, and it works great! It is very easy to install, looks great, and works great! The reflex works wonderfully. If you need the pull out extension to be short for a single basin sink or long for a deep well double basin sink, it works either way. You decide how long you want it to be. The faucet comes with a weight that you simply clip on the pull out hose under the sink, which determines how far you can pull the faucet out and how far back it reflexes. The only caution I have for you on this is that if your sink plumbing is a mess, like mine, the hose and weight will hang up on it. If you don't fix it, this will render the faucet extension useless. There is an easy fix though! We simply used an old piece of cheap poster board and some painters tape to make a channel along the back wall of the sink cabinet for the weighted hose to slide up and down. By containing it in the makeshift channel, it can't hang up on the other plumbing and it works amazingly. My only other caution is for people who are replacing a 3 hole faucet. This faucet is much shorter than the old faucets were. There is only 3-1/2 to 4" total length on either side from the center hole on the trim kit. So, you can easily change your plumbing set up for a single hole installation, but the trim kit may not cover your old holes. We just used the single hole faucet assembly (without the trim kit). We put it in the hole that was best for reaching both sink basins and then bought 2 cheap 2 inch hole cover blanks to cover the old holes. You can spend $20 or more each for hole cover to match the faucet, but we just used cheap plastic hole covers and it looks fine. We installed one of these for my mom over a year ago. It is still looks and works like new! It was so nice, that when our old faucet crapped out a few months ago, we decided to get this one, too! And as an added bonus, it was actually $50 cheaper than the non-reflex (pull out) version. And it's Moen, so it has a lifetime warranty! Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Love my Faucet
Size: 0.375 Color: Matte Black
I installed the Moen faucet back in August of 2019. It looks beautiful and works the same. The pull-down sprayer retracks back into place just as smooth as the day it was installed. The power boost button really gives it a boost. I really love how nice the faucet works, if something happened to it, I would buy the same one. ... show more

  • Looks good and works well
Size: 0.375 Color: Chrome
I agree with other reviewers. This faucet was easy to install and it looks good. It is also big as some have mentioned ... you WILL notice it in your kitchen. The only issue I had was the escutcheon plate is 60mm wide at the middle but tapers off to 40mm at the ends. The plastic gasket below the plate has a black seal that is indented a few mm's from the edge of the gasket. My kitchen sink has three holes. The gasket seal cannot fully cover the outer holes so water would leak from the base. I used silicone gel to line the bottom of the gasket and that fixed the problem. Wife and I weren't sure how we would like the pull down sprayer, but it actually works quite well. Also got the Moen soap dispenser to put where the old pull out sprayer used to be. My previous faucet was an American Standard. It started leaking below the handle after a couple of years. Hoping this Moen will fare much better, and based on the overwhelming positive reviews, I think it will. I really wanted to try the Moen Arbor with MotionSense. But it's $400 and not available until later this year. I think $166 for the non-MotionSense versus $440 for MotionSense is too big of a difference for me. Like one of my old teachers used to say ... always K.I.S.S --- keep it simple, stupid. ... show more

  • Refurbished a bad idea?! No way!! Save money and buy refurbished!
Size: 0.375 Color: Matte Black
I took a chance and decided to buy this faucet and decided to buy it refurbished, and I canโ€™t be happier! A year later and itโ€™s still working brand new. I love the look of this faucet, love how it sprays in two different sprays, and I love that it has two different strengths of spray to use. The matte black is really sleek and cleans up beautifully. I love that I got rid of the stainless steel look and went all black in my kitchen. This faucet is easy to install, so easy even a girl can do it! I installed it by myself and I have no knowledge in any handy man area! You will not be disappointed in this purchase for your sink. Itโ€™s easy and cheap to upgrade your sink. ... show more

  • Lots of great features, some complaints
Size: 0.375 Color: Matte Black
There are a lot of things I really like about this new faucet - the matte black finish shows few water spots so it rarely looks dirty. The style is sleek and modern, but still goes with our 1911 craftsman style house. The "power boost" button is a really nice function to be able to spray at dishes with a harder force when cleaning, I just wish there was a way to disengage this button, without turning off the water entirely. I'm disappointed in the reach of the arm - it's shorter than our previous one and makes filling up our coffee pot next to the sink tougher, but manageable. My only other complaint is the resistance when both pulling the arm from the docked position and releasing it back into the docked position - you have to kind of tug on the arm to get it to fully release and similarly force it back into place to completely "lock". It's not my favorite function and I'm not quite sure why it exists. ... show more
