  • Just like the non-wheeled version, but a little better designed.
Style: Double Horn Case with Wheels
I should start with the fact that I like the Pro-Tec Double Trumpet Case without wheels. But carrying two trumpets with other stuff attached to the bag (mute bag) is a little much. The case has pretty sturdy construction and a lot of pads that are trumpet length and can easily be moved for your best design of how they should fit. It also includes several (plenty) of little foam blocks to prop up the horns and keep them from butting against the lid when closed. It includes a velcro pocket for 2 mouthpieces. The front has a pouch for music that will fit the slim music folders that hold 8.5" X 11" pages of music, not the bigger folders. It is orientated so that the top of the pouch aligns with the short edge of the case, instead of the long edge. This is a big improvement over the non-wheeled version, and allows for much more storage. It also includes the famous Pro-Tec organizer for pens, pencils, business cards, etc.. The wheels and pull handle are awesome, probably a little less than the Gard versions, but plenty sturdy and strong. I have had NO issues wheeling it over parking lots and hallways. It includes a shoulder strap, however, I won't be putting this thing on my shoulder any time soon. The zippers and velcro fasteners work just like the other Pro-Tec cases and the cord handles are good. It also features rings for you to fasten other items like a mute bag. It is not a huge bag, the non-wheeled version is flyable without checking it, but the wheels may make it too big for overhead storage on a plane. I would NOT check this bag when flying. Two trumpets fit perfectly and will probably not hold a tall cornet. Cornets with a small wrap may fit, but not if they are taller than a trumpet. It would probably hold a flugelhorn on its side, but not in combination with another instrument. This is not meant to be a hard case, therefore it is not as heavy as a traditional double case (ie: Bach), but that is probably why you are considering it in the first place. The wheels and pull handle make it a little heavy to put on your shoulder. If you are looking for a wheelie bag to carry two trumpets or one trumpet and a bunch of mutes, stand, mute holder, etc.., this is a great bag for it. ... show more

  • it's great. It fit my Bb
Style: Triple Horn Case
I'm posting my review over a year after I bought this case. As far as doing the job, yes, it's great. It fit my Bb, my C and my piccolo with absolutely no problems, and using my little blocks to make a perfect fit was like playing "trumpet legos" to my roommate and I. I was extremely pleased with this case after buying it, and continued to like it for a while. But within the first 6 months, I had issues with the zippers. First, it was the front pocket. The zipper had managed to detach itself a little, which led to that strange phenomenon where you zip and it doesn't actually zip anything because the tines don't quite line up. After zipping from one end for a while, I managed to find a solution that just meant I couldn't open up the pocket all the way, which is fine. The next issue was when the zipper for the case started detaching itself. Slowly but surely, the zipper is coming off the case, and though I could hand sew it back on (probably never quite as good as a machine could do) the material on the zipper seems cheap (the fabric of the case itself is high quality nylon and I've had no problems with that) and I fear that I'd just have to keep resewing it, or eventually replacing the zipper which with the hard shell of the case would be a hassle and a half. I hear that protec has a lifetime warranty, but I didn't keep the paperwork. The lifetime warranty would work out well-- but when you'd need repairs every year or so, I don't think this choice is worth it. The major pro, however, with this case is the cost. This case is inexpensive, does the job, and protects your horn momentarily. The issue is that this case isn't a lifer. It'd be fine if used sparingly for those few gigs you need all 3 horns, but it's not for everyday use. As a college student, the price was right. But I've since had to invest a little bit more money into a more expensive case...which happened to be used, but still of much much better quality and well worth the investment. I'm on the fence with protec. I want to like them because they're affordable and trying to create items that mimic the more expensive ones on the market, but they just don't seem to hold up. ... show more

  • Two trumpets and a flugelhorn all fit!!
Style: Triple Horn Case with Wheels
Great case!! I had a similar Protec double trumpet case and dragged it about for over a year with no appreciable wear; zippers, handles, wheels, all still in good shape. Got another horn, needed a triple case! C and B-flat trumpets plus a rotary-valve flugelhorn fit just fine. The case interior is basically an open rectangle but it comes with MANY Velcro inserts of various shapes and sizes, including several mouthpiece holders, to customize the space as desired. If you get this case, plan to spend some time figuring the best arrangement for your needs. A generous outside pocket is large enough for music and even a small folding stand. ... show more

  • Sturdy and durable
Style: Triple Horn Case
My son loves this case. He has to bring multiple trumpets, a coronet, and mutes to high school for marching, jazz and wind ensemble. This case is easy to carry with a loaded book bag and is also durable enough to travel the school bus several times a week with confidence. Highly recommended!

  • very nice well thought out case
Style: Quad Horn Case
this case has the ability to fit most of the horns I need, it may take a little thinking to get it configured the way you need, but it works. the outside zipper pocket is big enough for music and other items stay neatly organized. Easier to take this and a separate case for my piccolo than taking several cases, a music bag, etc. ... show more
