  • Very Pleased with these pads. Great quality, light weight, low profile, non-abrasive and stay put.
For me at 210 lbs 6 foot normal legs and arms the xl pads fit perfect. If I was 185, and I have been I assure you, I would still get the xl pads and they would fit the same. As far as I can tell from the research, there are very few pads on amazon which actually fit an adult and these are the only ones at a reasonable price. I have used them every day this week with no issues. I'm 47 and riding an all wheel drive super aggressive electric skateboard. I'm still a big kid and in my younger years we didn't really wear pads at all and certainly not helmets. We were stupid, I'm all padded up but with these low profile pads i just put on large pants and a jacket and I'm good. They actually look cool too. ... show more

  • Excellent
Size: Large
These Pro-Tec street knee and elbow pads are excellent. They fit well and sizing is accurate to the chart (see pics for sizing chart). The quality and stitching seems good. Movement is good with the pads on. I’m sure comfort will increase as the foam breaks in. All pads are conveniently marked left and right. I wish there were more styles for hot weather that allows for more ventilation as well as more color options. I would recommend these pads based on the quality, comfort, and value. ... show more

  • Top-notch protection
Size: Large
I bought these for my son when he started long boarding recently. I have 187 Killer pads but couldn’t get them in his size with Prime so I went with these as I know Pro-Tec makes good products (have several of their helmets). These are just as plush as the 187s and protection seems on-par as well. I knew I had to get something comfortable or else my son would not wear them and these fit the bill. They are well made (stitching is great), fit well, and most importantly provide great protection. Don’t cheap out when it comes to pads, paying a bit extra for a quality product is well worth it. ... show more

  • Great beginner pads
These pads are awesome! There bigger than I expected, but only cause they have pretty great foam padding. What separates these from the pro pads is that you cannot replace the plastic shields, and you have to slide your leg in through the spandex/elastic sleeves. Makes it harder to wear over pants. But overall great beginner pads! Ironically, I took a tumble the day before I received these, scraping my knee and elbow; I wouldn't have been injured had I been wearing these... ... show more

  • Great set of pads, but understand what you're buying.
These are an excellent set of affordable, low impact pads that are great for those just getting in to roller sports, starting out with using pads, or wanting protection from ground level falls. However, if you're wanting protection from high impact situations such as knees slides or long falls to the elbows, then you'll likely want to look for something with better protection. After roughly 4 months of hardcore use (7 hours a week minimum) skateboarding on ramps (between 4 and 12 ft tall), the knee pads have definitely stared to show signs of wear, with one pad having a snapped strap buckle (which is fixable with a little super glue but has broken more than once) and a cracked cap, and the other having rips exposing the liner. The liner is also compressed heavily towards the middle on both, and doesn't provide as good of protection as it did when it was new, but still works. I should point out that this is the result of heavy impacts at high speeds (knee sliding on a 10 ft vertical ramp, for example) so they will likely hold up pretty well if you plan on using them for less "intense" riding. The elbow pads have held up great, but admittedly haven't taken nearly as much abuse as the knee pads. They've definitely help prevent some nasty "swell-bow" regardless. Both pads fit quite comfortably, but, like most pads, can ride down when sliding, so a set of gaskets or wearing tight clothing under neath them isn't a bad idea. Overall, I would easily recommend these to anyone look for a great set of light, comfortable pads to get started with. But, be prepared to replace these somewhere down the road, either with another set or something more heavy duty, such as 187 Killer Pad Pros. ... show more

  • If You Have Kids These are the Pads for Them
Size: Large
They provide excellent protection in the suseptiable injury zones. My son loves the pass because they are easy to put on and stay in place. The pass have a sewn in wrap which you slide your arms and legs into. The elbow pads has two wrap around Velcro straps on each. The knee pads have a top wrap around Velcro strap on top with a cross strap which goes around a buckle on the bottom. This bottom cross strap tightens to your level of comfort and keeps the pads from riding up or down no matter what activity you are participating in. As far as the hard plastic guards go, they are very durable and take a beating with minor marks. If you have kids these are the set of pads which will keep them Safe and they stay in place. I would recommend the ProTec wrist guards also if you have kids which skate or skateboard. ... show more

  • They really are great protection!
Still learning to longboard and the first few mishaps prior to buying these were pretty rough. Since purchasing these my confidence has greatly improved and my injuries have been reduced. Highly recommend these. Easy to put on and stay on. Great protection and safety items.

  • Order way bigger size!!!!! Awesome pads though
I’m always an adult medium - NO - these fit my 10 year old daughter. My skate coach and I are both skinny for adults and we are the XL! That’s so funny to me. Anyways… They are great pads. You can easily slide out of falls unless you are getting big air then you need the $100 knee pads for the cushioning. ... show more
