  • I really like it!
Color: Tan
update 08/02/2013. Well it finally happened after a year and a half. The bed blew out. One of the depressions on the top of the bed completely blew out of the top of the bed while i was sleeping on it. Hit the floor in one big hurry. There is no fixing it. Well i am not complaining because it out lasted any other mattress i have had. I weigh 400 pounds and that kind of weight destroys any kind of bed after time. Well i have another new one in the box that has been sitting in the box for over a year. Now we will see how long this one lasts. It is time to get the silicone seal out. The video is a updated video after having this mattress 10 months and sleeping on it every single day. I have only had this mattress a week now but have run several tests on it. The first thing is at the end of this review I put the warranty from Wenzel. Nobody ever talks about the warranty on air mattresses. I also called the number below and talk to a customer service rep about the mattress. I am required to sleep on an air mattress because of my medical condition so I have had a lot of air mattresses in the last ten years. All air mattress leak air! They are not really leaks such as a puncture. The vinyl has pores in it so they leak down, some worse than other depending on the quality of the vinyl. I have owned air mattresses cheaper than this one and much more expensive than this one. My experience on air mattresses that you either get a good one or a bad one no matter what you pay for it. The worst trouble I had with any air mattress was one that cost over $400.00. This insta bed with the never flat is the one to own. Forget the ones with the remote control. You have to inflate or deflate the mattress with the remote but you can never get the mattress to be the same exact consistency from the last time you filled it up. Waking up in the middle of the night to inflate the bed is a pain in the you know what. This bed has only three settings. It has plush, medium, and firm. If you need more than this than you need to go sleep on a cloud in heaven. The first thing I did was inflate the bed like the instructions say. That right folks I read instructions! I selected firm and turned it on. This bed will turn itself off when it reaches the right firmness so you don't have to sit and watch it and worry about over inflating which ruins the mattress. I let it sit for 4 hours unplugged than I plugged it back in. The never flat pump came on and ran exactly one and a half minutes and shut off. The air that is being pump into the mattress is actually warm air that relaxes the vinyl. Some people say the never flat pump is loud. All I can say on the bed I received I can't even hear it at all. I only know it is running because of the red light that lights up. I Velcro a yard stick to the side of the bed at the exact height of my table in the bedroom. I laid down on the bed and the yard stick drop ½ inch below the table and the never flat pump came on. In one minute the never flat pump had the bed right back up to the height of the table top and turn itself off. I don't know how long all this electronic stuff will last but if it does you won't have to inflate or deflate anything ever again. I deflated the air mattress and it is automatic. It not only sucks ever drop of air out of the mattress but shuts itself off. It fits easily right back into the duffel bag it comes with. Well only time will tell how well it holds up but right now I think it is great. update 5/11/2013: Well i have had it over a year now and it is still giving me terrific service WENZEL ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY Wenzel takes pride in its workmanship and strives to manufacture the best possible products. • Okay so here's the deal...read it and you'll know!
Color: Tan
I bought this bed to replace an Aer***d, which leaks air like crazy. I NEED something that doesn't leak air, preferably AT ALL, as I've had neck surgery and I have to stay flat. If it loses air I wake up in a ball and in severe pain, and that's just not an option. I don't want to buy a full size mattress because of a) the cost (I'd want a $2000 mattress, I'm that kind of person - buy the best or don't buy one at all) and b) I'm moving in 3 months, and don't want it to take up half the moving truck. So since it's the number one air mattress on Amazon, I thought I'd give it a try, and the "Never Flat" feature was enticing. The intention is to use this as a main bed, for one person, for now at least. It's rated to hold 500 lbs., so it should be fine with 2 full grown adults. It's on a carpeted floor, so it hasn't been damaged by using it as a camping mattress and tearing it on a rock or anything like that. I followed the instructions carefully, pumped it up to "firm" (I don't want anything squishy), and first impressions were great. It's MUCH more comfortable than the old air mattress, and it appears to be made of higher quality materials than what I had previously, and for about the same money. But it lost air the first night. Not much, but I definitely noticed it wasn't nearly as firm in the morning. I read somewhere that the materials need to "relax" and it needs to be pumped a second time before it stabilizes, and stays firm after a settling-in period, so I didn't think much of it. I made sure the settings were correct, that the dial is on firm, and the power remains plugged in. There's a manual dial to turn it to "inflate" or "deflate", and they both work. If you turn the dial to "inflate", with the setting on firm, it stays on until it reaches a preset firmness, then shuts off automatically. Great. The second night it lost air again, but this time a little more. Did the same thing, pumped it up manually, fell back to sleep, and it was okay, but now it's starting to concern me. The "Never Flat" feature doesn't seem to be working, either. It is now the morning after the fourth night, and I've woken up in pretty bad pain from not sleeping well. It's lost a fair of air, the "Never Flat" feature STILL isn't working, and now I'm doing something about it. The bed is supplied with some papers that say "don't return the mattress to where you bought it, call us first". I called the manufacturer's support line twice, and both times after about 2 or 3 minutes on hold I reached a human being, which is fine, at least I'm not on hold for half an hour. Here's the important part, and I didn't know this until minutes ago. The manufacturer makes this "Insta Raised Queen Bed with Never Flat Pump", and also the "Serta Raised Queen Bed with Never Flat Pump". The latter is $25 more and has only 4 reviews, so obviously it's much harder to find, and 99% of people buy this one. The ONLY difference, and I made sure of this, is the "Insta" version (this one) has a ONE year warranty, and the "Serta" version (unrelated to the huge mattress manufacturer), has a TWO year warranty. Otherwise they are IDENTICAL. Same factory, same parts, same everything, the only difference is you pay $25 more for an extra year warranty. So unless you think something will happen within the second year, and this is MANUFACTURING DEFECTS ONLY, not abuse, rips or "normal wear and tear", they will replace it. They'll even send you one in advance with a credit card number, so you're not without one (I gotta sleep on something!). Personally, I think I'd pay the extra $25 if something happens, and I understand not everyone will. I almost never do though, with most products if they work right out of the box they're likely not to break, but I don't want to have to throw away yet another mattress and pay $125 for a new one. I'd probably rather pay $25 now for an insurance policy against breakage in the second year, because motors DO break and if the motor's going to need to be used daily, the chances are greater that it will. This "Never Flat" feature does not seem to work on mine, I've never heard the motor come on automatically to try to overcome the air leakage, so far I've had to do it manually. The way the manufacturer's warranty works is this: if the bed is bad, you need to call them at a 1-800 number, have them mail, fax or email a return form to you, fill it out, then PHYSICALLY CUT the label out of the bed with a pair of scissors (!), and take a picture of the cut-out label. Then mail, email, or fax the filled out form, a copy of the sales receipt showing the date of purchase, and the picture of the cut-out label you took, back to them. The return fax number they provide you when you call the first time, or the email address would be "someone@americanrec.com". They will send you a replacement bed in advance with a credit card number, so you don't have to cut your bed to shreds first and then wait for a new one. I'm going the Amazon return route. The problem though is Amazon doesn't HAVE the Serta version I mentioned above in stock. The Insta one can be shipped immediately, the other one is "2 to 4 weeks delivery", or so it says as of the date of this writing. The people at the manufacturer say it's easier, for both them and the consumer, to go through Amazon to get a new one, and that's why I buy here all the time. You click "return", and in this case, "reason: defective" and they'll ship you a new one (as the manufacturer will). There is NO manual pump option on this bed, or the Serta version, by the way. If the motor works it's fine, if the motor stops working the whole thing is garbage. At this point, I ordered a defective replacement Insta through Amazon. The manufacturer seems to think I got a lemon. I hope so, cause this bed is REALLY comfortable, at least when it's properly inflated. But I can't live with something I have to pump up in the middle of the night, especially since the "Never Flat" isn't working. For now it gets 3 stars, cause I'm hopeful this is just a bad one. If the new one is good, and then I'll revise it up to 5...maybe. If the new one does the same thing, it gets a 1, it goes back, and I keep looking. I'll keep y'all posted. ... show more

  • Bed still under review…SELLER AMAZING!!!
Color: Tan
We have have had a series of unfortunate events with the Instabed. We are on our third bed in three months. The first bed blew a seam on the corner at 10 weeks of daily ( set up and tear down )use. The internal pump of the replacement bed stopped working after 10 days. We’re about one month into the new bed, so far so good. Other than our run of bad luck this is the best air bed we have used. We fall asleep easily and sleep soundly. It’s easy to set up and tear down. The internal pump keeps the comfort level perfect through the night. You don’t disturb your bedmate when turning over or getting up. No bouncy house! While the bed durability is still under review, the seller has been OUTSTANDING!!! Spreetail responded immediately and made everything effortless. Our first bed blew out at 1:45 am. I sent a message a 1:52am. had a response by 2:00 am, a replacement on the way by 2:55 am and a new bed on our doorstep the same day. The second replacement took about five days to resolve but once the communication issues were sorted we had the new bed the next day. No hassle, very responsive, always polite. Five star seller!! ... show more
