    • Great Camp Griddle!
I purchased this in June and wanted to wait to write a review until really having a chance to use the griddle. Prior to using the griddle for cooking, I seasoned the griddle using canola oil and gave the griddle 4 coats of oil, letting each application fully smoke off on medium heat. The entire surface colored to the same patina and only the spots where the stand offs are located are not showing the same coloring. So heat distribution is even. With the surface pre-seasoned I started with cooking hamburgers and bacon and had no sticking and the griddle only needed to be set to a med/low setting. I have cooked Hamburgers, bacon, steaks, sausage, pork chops, eggs, vegetables, and pancake's with success and no sticking. Cleaning the top after cooking is easy and quick. I set the burner to medium and then use a squirt bottle with water to spray on the griddle, use a scraper to swipe everything out the back and into the grease cup, then wipe off the surface with a paper towel. Once cleaned off, I turn off the burner and wipe a light coat of canola oil on all surfaces and let cool to be put away for next use. I am VERY happy with this griddle and highly recommend it if you are in the market for a portable. The only slight issue I had with the griddle has to do with storing it. To store the griddle, you turn the cook top upside down and place it back on the base. The problem I found is there are aluminum rivets at the corners on the base and when you place the cook top on the base for storage, the cook top rubs on the rivets. This wears down the rivets and transfers metal to the cook top. To stop this, I place a strip of towel over the rivets before placing the cook top down. If you don't put something over the rivets, they will wear. Other than this single issue, the Blackstone griddle has been a pleasure to own and I would absolutely buy it again! ... show more

Cold rolled steel is the only way to go. Nothing more to say. This is a great griddle at a great price. No complaints. Super fun. Must have.

    • Fantastic for RV outdoor cooking
I struggled for a long time deciding which grill to get for my RV. I had never owned a griddle before and was hesitant to buy this one. After so many positive reviews on the RV forums I decided to try it. I've come to love it and am so pleased with my decision. The griddle heats up quickly, cooks well, and clean-up is a breeze (although I clean it up immediately after cooking while the griddle is still hot). It packs up nicely and fits in my RV locker easily. It does have areas of the griddle that are not as hot as others (edges and corners) but this is OK as a warming area. My only dislike is that it has only one temperature control. I would like to have separate controls for each cooking side. This feature is available with the larger units and I realize this was a compromise in getting the smaller griddle. Very happy with this purchase so far. ... show more

    • Had to Contact Blackstone to fix the valve control
I got my 17" grill and tried it out quite a bit and never got a good flame. I tried everything and went to another camper to try my grill. I never got a good flame. I registered my grill and contact Blackstone. They immediately said that they will sent me a new valve control. I got it within days. I exchanged the valve control. I fired up the grill and I saw a lot more flame coming out and the flame adjusted with the turn of the dial. I finally got an opportunity to grill on it and man it worked soooooo good!!! Thank you Blackstone! It would have been nice to have it work right as soon as I took it out of the box, but things happen but Blackstone was quick to fix the issue. I would definitely buy another Blackstone Grill. ... show more
