  • 5.0 out of 5 stars great device, dreadful customer service
Supposed to have lifetime warranty. Mine conked out in March at 2 years old. I am still waiting for replacement. Gilmour was owned by Fiskars which, after I'd waited a month, informed me I should pursue warranty satisfaction with still another company. It's June and I am still waiting. Of course, I had to replace the device because it's the growing season so if I eventually get satisfaction, I will have a backup when this one also conks out. That said, it is easy peasy to install and use. Love the device. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use
I had a timer from the big box store that gave out recently. It was Sooooo confusing to use. Then I got this one and was able to program it right out of the box without reading the instructions. So far it has worked great except that it doesn’t allow full volume to go through. It’s not an issue for me though. Good product. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Not durable-But Gilmour Warranty
I am loyal to the gilmour brand due to their demonstrated durability, however I am very unhappy with these timers. I have 4 if the single timers and 3 of the doubles. So far two of each are no longer working and all are less than 1 year old. One, the screen stopped working (yes, replaced batteries, tried the reset button). On the other 3, water squirts out of multiple locations unless the timer is flowing. Obviously, that doesn't work because a majority of the time the timer is not flowing. Really bummed, that is a lot of investment burned. Still waiting to see if Gilmour will replace them. EDITED: Gilmour replaced all of the non-functioning timers, under warranty. No comment from them on if they changed manufacturing and this was just a fluke, but I'll update at the end of the season. (I also wonder if some of the ones being sold on Amazon by 3rd party sellers may be defective? May never know). ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Best Faucet Timer out there for intuitive use.
I’m a professional and this is the best all around faucet timers I’ve used. Controls are very simple and versatile. Faucet connector is durable with a brass insert, and housing and buttons feel solid and long lasting. Has hose thread instead of pipe thread on the outlet (which some have.) Mostly it’s intuitive. I have spent a half hour trying to figure out a clients faucet timer with no manual, total nightmare. This one took 3 minutes to figures out and set without a manual when it arrived. Also, it’s set up based on days not days of the week. This allows you to water every two days three days etc. timers that use day of the week are terrible because if you water twice a week you end up watering every two days and then every three days, which makes no sense. My only complaint (listen up Gilmour!) is they it doesn’t have a hinged plastic timer as others do. I have not had one fail yet, but it seems inevitable that with the sun beating down on the exposed face you’ll run into trouble eventually.) install it in a shady spot if possible. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars The Screen :(
I LOVE this timer. It's perfect for me. I use it for a horse trough to fill once a day during cold months and twice during warm. (That way I don't have a float valve and about 200' of hose with constant pressure.) Simple to use and works well. The issue is that not quite 10 months after installing it, because it's in sun most of the day, the screen is now invisible. That wasn't a huge deal until it somehow got reset so the timer function needs to be reset and I can't see the readout to do it. All I can use now is the manual feature for 30 minutes. So I'm here looking for another brand that I hope has a more durable screen. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Gilmour, please don't ever discontinue this product. It's the best!
I use nine different ones scattered around my yard. I set them up in May and they run up until Oct. They take two seconds to set up and work great. I'd pay more if they made an all metal, industrial version of it.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Super easy to set and extremely affordable
I use this controller to manage water flow on my pond. I have bought many different battery powered timers in the past, and most are fine -- but expensive. This model was very affordable, and more importanly, has large "+" and "-" buttons to control setting the time. This is handy when you have on gloves. It also has a quick bypass button that is easy to find, and large enough to press easily with a gloved hand. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfactory!
I ordered this timer to water a small 4x12 flower bed whenever I was traveling this summer. The first time I used it in mid-June, I only had time to hook it up and say a prayer as I walked away. I didn't even get to watch it run one time before leaving. When I returned, I had lost several plants, but the majority had survived. So, I'm assuming it worked on schedule. It was leaking at the faucet but since I'd read that this timer has the tendency to do that, I just placed a pot of flowers underneath it on my way out and called it good. I am preparing to leave again in a couple days and this time, I have observed it a few times in advance, and so far, it has started and stopped on schedule without leaking. Fingers crossed! ... show more
