I was pleasantly surprised with this area rug. We needed an 8'x11' area rug that wasn't too expensive and this one was the perfect price. We were looking for something a little more traditional but decided on this one due to it's size and it's ability to go with almost anything. When we received it it was wound so tightly that I thought they had shipped the wrong size. We opened it up thinking we would have to repack and return it but found that it was the rug we ordered. We were concerned that the rug would roll on the edges because of being packed so tightly but once we had it positioned, it was perfectly flat. There was not a powerful "new carpet" smell, just a bit of an odor which didn't seem to be there the morning after we placed it. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this carpet again. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We had the beige one and when we got a new dog he urinated in it. I purchased the marble one as a replacement and I absolutely love it. The color really brightens the room and pulls together the color on the floor and the walls. This is softer on the feet than the one we bought in 2007. I bought this rug three years ago and liked it very much but decided to try a replacement natural fiber rug without a cloth edging. Henceforth I have purchased two others and immediately returned them due to substandard materials, bad weave patterns, and crooked edges and corners. I ordered this rug again with the marble edging and could not be happier. Never should’ve wasted my time and energy looking for a different replacement. There is a nice rubberized backing, the material and weave is very nice, it required no trimming or attention, flattened out right away (after reverse rolling) and the edges were clean and even. I purchased a 2x6 sisal runner to use as a scratching pad for my cats. We have scratching "posts" but one of them do not like to go vertical when scratching. This protects the nice carpet I have down as that was their go to. Now they only use this and have stopped scratching the carpet and all furniture in that room. Fantastic! I've had it over a month and see no significant wear and tear (or shedding) even after they go at it several times a day. They absolutely love this and it is so worth it. The ply was too high to fit in front of my front door opening which I originally purchased it for. I liked it so much I kept it to use at our back patio door. The rug is basically exactly as described and I had no issues with odor. It seems sturdy and I like that it has a no-slip backing that feels pretty stable. My only disappointment is the color. While it is technically “cream,” it looks more like a pale yellow, almost like it was tinted “cream.” The colors in the pics and my experience with sisal/natural fiber rugs led me to assume the color cream wouldn’t be so vibrant, but it is. I am keeping it only because the hassle to try and prepare this rug for return feels overwhelming. I wish now I had purchased the “marble” color, which sounds like a more natural tone. ... show more

When I bought this, I apparently didn't read the fine print very good because I didn't catch the fact that it said "natural fiber". When it arrived I was surprised to find that it's more of a woven mat, and not a soft rug. But that's ok as now I'm using it for a foot mat at my front door.
