Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The majority of reviewers praise the product for its highly enjoyable swing motion and the calming effect it has on babies. Users also report that it provides a great opportunity for moms to get chores done while keeping an eye on their baby. However, a few users encountered issues with the motor strength, noise, and lack of mobile spin and volume control function.

Pros

  • 👶 Extremely pleasurable swing motion.
  • 🎠 Captivating mobile (though it doesn't spin automatically).
  • 🎵 Enjoyable musical selections.
  • 😴 Effective in calming the baby and inducing sleep.
  • 👀 Allowing free time for mothers while still keeping the baby in view.

Cons

  • 🔄 Mobile does not spin automatically, needs to be done manually.
  • 🔊 Lack of volume control for the music.
  • 💨 Less than satisfactory motor strength in some units.
  • 🔌 Some swings require being unplugged and plugged back in several times to work.
  • 🔊 Reported noise from the swing.

Should I Buy It?

Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback and the acknowledged benefits of the product, it still comes highly recommended despite a few reported cons. It might be advisable to check the motor strength and overall functionality early on after your purchase to ensure you didn't get a dud unit.

  • Simply The Best - No Contest!
We bought and tried four different styles and brands of baby swings - a compact swing, a swivel swing, a fancy tech swing, and this, the Graco Simple Sway swing. I wanted something for our little one to be able to relax in with me while I cook and bang pots around in the kitchen. Wearing my baby while doing dishes just doesn't work for us. I also wanted a swing that was multidirectional - front to back swing and side to side swing. I wanted it to be comfortable, quiet, and relatively affordable. To compare: The compact swing was nice because it didn't take up much space but the motor was loud and the design felt clunky, despite being condensed. The swivel swing was only awesome because it came with a mosquito net, which would have been awesome last summer for my summer baby while I was in the garden. Everything else about the swivel was unremarkable. The fancy tech swing was a kind of a joke. It didn't really swing, more like swayed around in kangaroo movements that supposedly mimmick my own. Hmpf. I like to think I move with a little more passion than that thing did. We actually bought two of this same brand, one that was more techy and one that was a lesser techy previous generation. Both left something to be desired. And then, glorious glorious Simple Sway arrived. Initially I was concerned about the size - it seemed bulky and I wondered if it would take up too much room. Not at all. Once easily assembled, my concerns were put to bed. It fits quite nicely in the kitchen corner space and takes up hardly more room than any of the others. And. AND! It moves like a dream. The motion is graceful and kind. I love it. My baby loves it. The motor is quiet, it sounds nothing louder than a large wall clock ticking. The music options are subtle and certainly not fanciful. But I wasn't looking for that anyway. I do really like the bird sound, though. With windows closed in the winter the subdued bird chirps in our kitchen have been welcome. The seat is enough of a bucket that it carefully holds even my wiggle wormy baby, but doesn't make me wonder if she's slowly sinking into a pit. I would say, though, regarding the seat, that the straps could be of better quality; a bit softer, smoother would be nice. But admittedly I'm spoiled with the likes of Nuna car seat straps and Stokke high chair straps. And I'm so much less concerned about the roughness of straps than I am about my little muffin's swinging experience. Which, in the case of the Simple Sway, is just top notch. I couldn't be more pleased. Did I mention it has vibration options for the seat? How Divine that this perfect swing also includes a little (or a lot) vibration feature to help my sweet baby downregulate her nervous system and support digestion! There's a reason this is ranked as #1, folks. Stop searching, just buy this one if it meets 80%+ of your needs. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

My baby loves this swing!! She can be screaming and nothing will make her happy but the second I put her in this swing she calms down! We got one at our baby shower and ended up buying them for our parents house to! It’s very cushioned and soft the straps aren’t the best quality but they will do the job! We love the music it plays and the different speed options. It is very bulky and takes up a lot of space. It’s built to last we love the graco brand! ... show more

  • Budget Friendly, Space Saving, Sanity Saver!
Color: Abbington Style: Base Pattern Name: Swing
I was a bit nervous about this product because the price was significantly lower than others like it. My worries were totally unfounded. The biggest thing I love about this is that it plugs into a wall outlet! I did not want to have to buy batteries all the time. I also like that it does have the option to run it on batteries in case you do want to use that option. I want to address some of the biggest complaints I've seen in the reviews: 1. The swing provides little or no support for small/newborn babies -- I can't she'd much light on this because we bought it for our 14lb 5 month old who sits just fine in it. However, I can say that the padded head support is thin and doesn't look like it would support a tiny baby. 2. The swing speed is extremely slow or barely moves for heavier babies -- this concerned me because well, if the swing doesn't swing, what's the point? My son is currently 14lbs which some reviewers said this swing would not support. Our swing has no problems swinging my son's weight. Sometimes it does seem to start a little slow when you crank up the speed but I simply give it a little swing myself and it picks right up at that speed and continues it. It had no problems starting and maintaining lower speeds. 3. It is very loud when swinging -- some reviewers said that this swing was so loud that it drove them mad and they had to turn it off. In my experience, unless you're extremely sensitive to sound, the clicking and whirring noise shouldn't be a bother at all. It's the same noise that every swing I've ever seen makes. I can't help but wonder if some people had recieved swings with defective motors if they were that loud? 4. The music is horrid and obnoxious -- even the 4 and 5 star reviews mentioned how bad the music was. We have a baby chair that makes the most ob noxious, high pitched sound when the toy is pulled (we don't pull the toy haha) so I was kind of expecting the swing music to be like that. I wasn't planning on using the music feature just because of how bad people said it was. Well, I checked it out after we set it up and I was pleasantly surprised! I actually like the music! I find it very calming and not obnoxious at all. Both me and baby fall asleep with it on. But, if by chance you fall into the camp that finds the music insufferable, just know that you can leave it off and turn it off with just the push of a button. 5. The mobile doesn't spin -- this is true. The mobile just hangs on the swing there is no movement to it. Yes, it would be nice if the mobile spun to keep the baby's attention (my son doesn't seem to care at all about the non moving mobile) but for the price, I can't complain! Overall, I would definitely recommend this swing! It's budget friendly, doesn't take up a ton of space, is easy to assemble and it keeps baby happy! ... show more

  • Baby loves it and thats what matters most
Color: Ivy Style: Base Pattern Name: Swing
Tried overpriced 4moms MamaRoo (nearly for $300) and she likes this one way better. Simplicity won. If she likes it then i love it. Pros: -Simple side to side swinging works just like rocking your baby in a recliner which she loves! -Stimulating classical music & white noises especially heartbeat. -Powered by cord and/or batteries. -The motor quieter than 4moms MamaRoo. Cons: -The motor is hearable. -Mobile doesn't rotate by itself but neither does 4moms’. -Quite wide base takes up more space than 4moms. (For balance and stability) -Seat vibration doesn’t work when plugged in. Requires batteries as the only thing. -Some D batteries which we obviously didn’t have at home lol BIGGEST dislike: -Straps come WITHOUT cushions! -White noises are nearly impossible to hear (unlike music) Overall opinion: BUY IT ... show more

I bought this second time for my second kid. both kids feel comfortable with this. good for infants and toddler as well. makes little noise while swinging but it is okay acts as kind of music. :) for vibration we need to put batteries which I don't like in it. it is good if the vibration also comes with plug-in instead of vibration. I never used vibration because of this. ... show more
