Description

Restyled for 2014, the Weber Q 120 is now the Weber Q 1200. The grill has the same great performance and sleek styling, but adds new aesthetics that are both functional and fun, including larger grip handle and control knobs, ergonomic side handles, sturdy front and rear cradles, larger-sized fold-out side tables with greater rigidity plus the familiar Weber Q logo branded in the lid. Split grates allow for a grate/griddle cooking combination: Just replace one of the grates with the Q 1000-series compatible griddle (sold separately) and experience an unexpected way to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner on your grill. The tall lid accommodates the grilling of small roasts and birds, while the large built-in thermometer allows you to monitor temperatures inside the grill. Durable, but lightweight, the cast-aluminum construction of the Weber Q 1200 makes this super-portable grill the perfect tailgating companion. Reliable starts are assured with the electronic ignition. Steaks, chops, burgers and dogs are easily handled, but a large variety of other foods may also be cooked at any temperatures from low to high. Just dial-in the proper heat setting by adjusting the infinite control burner valve. For grilling on-the-go, the Weber Q 1200 runs on disposable LP cylinders (not included). For at-home use an optional LP adapter hose for 20-lb. tanks is available as an accessory. May be used with Weber Portable Cart model No.6557.

  • Sweet little grill!
Pattern Name: Grill Color: Orange
This was just exactly what I was after for a small portable grill! Your not going to get huge production out of it as the grill is only so big (that's not what its for) but its plenty for a few steaks or a burgers. Reasonably light weight and pretty compact, can't wait to pack it out for camping!

  • Great grill; flame holes need frequent wire-brushing because they are unprotected.
Pattern Name: Grill Color: Orange
The Q1200 Grill is perfect if you simply want to cook burgers or sausages for four or six people. Maybe fish, too, but that's not my thing. It is not intimidating like their larger models. Think of it as a convection oven; you must preheat and then keep the lid closed while cooking to get to a suitably high temperature. You have to keep an eye on the thermometer in the cover. The temperature fluctuates a lot at first and you have to fiddle with the control, but the temp stabilizes after a few minutes. The fold-out shelves are handy to have, and sturdy enough for light duty. In the rain, water gets entrapped in the honeycomb spaces under the fold-out shelves (when the grill is not in use and they are folded in). When you open the shelves after a rainstorm, water splashes all over the table. Messy. So you need a cover to keep the rain out. As many Amazon reviewers have said, the little cover that Weber sells specifically for the Q1200 is ridiculously skimpy, not coveting the essential controls. Instead, buy the model 7111 cover that is intended for the larger Q2200 grill. The model 7111 cover enshrouds all the controls of the Q1200 and stays on when cinched tightly. Finally, please heed Weber's stern warning that the grill should never be placed on a wooden or glass tabletop. I bought the Flash Furniture Commercial Grade 31.5" Square Green Metal Indoor-Outdoor Table, which is perfect for the job and quite attractive. The table comes in additional cheerful colors besides green. NOTE: Under the food grates, the gas-pipe flame holes are not protected by the flavorizer bars that the bigger Webers have. So the grease and charred materials fall directly on the gas pipe, rapidly clogging the holes so there is no flame. The gas pipe needs to be wire-brushed at least every other use (as the manual says, brush ACROSS the diameter of the pipe, not side-to-side along the length of the pipe). I bought a small wire brush specifically for that job. ... show more

  • Typical Weber Quality
Pattern Name: Grill Color: Orange
I purchased this to replace my old Q1000 that I had for 12 years and was my main grill for a portion of that time The Q1000 still worked but had been damaged in a tornado. We use this mainly for RVing tailgating etc. I liked the idea of the fold out shelves plus it worked with our old Q stand. I like the Q1200 lid more than the 1000 since it has more room and a thermometer. The grate is porcelain coated and 2 piece the old 1000 was not, so it should be a little easier to clean. I've always been so impressed with the quality of materials used in Weber grills. I had another popular brand portable grill with built in stand ETC. slightly more expensive. I got a little over 2 years out of it before it rotted out. This grill gets hot for it's size and is a pleasure to cook on. Also uses common Weber accessories like aluminum drip pans and a flat griddle (going to add this one soon). If I could change anything I'd like to see a portable Q model that has 2 burners so indirect cooking would be easier. For the price I have not seen anything better. ... show more

  • Used a Hand Full of Times and Guess What?
Pattern Name: Grill Color: Orange
I used this grill about a half a dozen times and then moved a few months later. I took special care to pack the grill so as not damage it. Late last season, fall of 22, I fired it up to do some steaks....no problem, till I fired it up a week after that and then half the flame on a new propane tank. It takes 30 minutes to get it to 300F. I've done my due diligence to figure out the problem and after a little research found that the regulators on Weber grills aren't the best. So, that's what I'll be doing.....Over the years I've always wanted a Weber and finally broke down to get one and, as it turns out, my cheap butt grills from Home Depot were more reliable. Maybe I got a lemon but, maybe not..... ... show more

  • Functionality and durable
Pattern Name: Grill Color: Orange
This is a nice unit for a single person, good amount of room to cook on. The design is unique. Many reviews on this item is what influenced my purchase. Optional stand you can order, which I did. Easy to assemble . Porcelain grates are a nice touch. This is a replacement for a another camping brand that failed within a year of purchase. This has a 5 year warranty on most components, which makes a sound statement for the company. I hope to have this for years. A good value. The product arrived early all intact. ... show more

  • Great Portable Grill
Pattern Name: Grill Color: Orange
I purchased my first one in 2012 and it has been awesome. This year (2020) I finally had to replace the ignitor and burner element. (parts are readily available online. I use grillparts.com) The grates were holding up well with only a small amount of rust on the bottom. For the second time in 6 years, I lit the grill with the side tables folded in so I just ordered new parts and purchased a new grill. I will use the old one as a backup and for rough camping trips to preserve the new one. That would be my only con, it is easier than you think to forget to fold out the tables LOL. I was slightly disappointed that the new colored one had a rough texture, almost like Bedliner, but not thick like that. I feel like it will collect dirt easier and make it harder to clean. We will see. ... show more

  • Great for camping
Pattern Name: Grill Color: Orange
This grill works great for camping. We added a quick-connect hose and removed the regulator to work with the quick connect gas port on the camper (which already has a regulator). The size is good for a small group of people. It's still pretty heavy - especially the actual grills, but it's a Weber and it will last. It cooks evenly and nicely, just like the gas Weber we have at home. The only issue we've had is that the electric ignition doesn't work most of the time. We have to light it manually. No big deal, just annoying. ... show more
