These chairs are more investment than the typical outdoor furniture - designed to stand up to the elements, they are well made, extra thick (and sturdy) material, designed to make putting it together simple and easy with only one enclosed tool. Very comfortable to sit in and love the pub height as I am a very tall person and have back problems, so finding something that is comfortable to get into and out of without a great deal of effort was critical in our buying decision. They are not inexpensive but will likely outlast me - I cannot imagine anything taking them out, not wind, not rain, not overweight persons (designed to hold up to 450 lbs) - if they were maybe 2" wider I would say they were perfect but they do recess the inside of the handles on each side so that comes close enough for me. I highly recommend these - I spoke with the seller before ordering, very pleasant and answered all my concerns, shipped out the next morning and I had them in ONE day, via Fedex. Yes, they are about 60 lbs each, but that alone is why they are so sturdy and solid. Could not be happier with my purchase. Amazing quality and sturdy. Every hole lined up perfectly and assembly was relatively easy. The instructions only showed a picture, but install the seat first for easier assembly. Small point, but they included extra hardware, so there is no chance you will be short. There are cheaper ones on Amazon but go for this one as it's the best all around. ... show more

The Phat Tommy Balcony Chairs arrived three days earlier than expected! Nice Surprise! The set arrives in two boxes which are fairly heavy. I was able to assemble the chairs, by myself, just using furniture to prop them up and clamps to hold pieces in place. The predrilled holes line up very well! I used my own bit because it was easier than using the tool provided. The instructions were straightforward and easy to complete. The set itself is awesome! It's heavy enough that I don't think it will move in high wind. It's also very comfortable seating. The tray is perfect for drinks or snacks. My previous balcony chair was lighter and I would have to bring it in eveytime the wind picked up. This set seems to be weighted sufficiently to withstand the wind and feels very durable. It's also poly resin so its easy to clean. The price is a bit steep... But it seems like it seems worth it for the comfort, durability and stability. ... show more

The chairs just arrived (3 days early) and I proceeded to put them together. The hardest part was removing the pieces from the box! Very easy to assemble and all pre drilled parts fit perfectly. I had been looking at these polywood bar stools, locally. I wanted to go small business but the delivery time was months out and it didn't make sense to wait until half the summer was over to enjoy them. I was skeptical about buying these online because I thought, for the money, I might not get the quality and they might be too difficult to assemble. I am a 60 year old female (probably more experienced than most when it comes to manual labor) and I found them very easy to assemble, especially with a better grade allen wrench than the one that comes in the box. With that said, they are fully assembled, appear to be very solid and they are extremely comfortable. I would recommend these chairs to anyone looking for great polywood bar stools. Now, I will be hopeful that they will stand the test of time! Cheers ... show more

Let me start out by saying that I barely ever write reviews unless a product really exceeds my expectations. I wanted to find a set of chairs exactly like these that would let me see over my fence in my backyard and see the intercoastal waterway. My fence is 50 inches tall, and my biggest concern was looking directly at the top bar. I will tell you that at 6 foot two and my wife at 5 foot 10, that does not happen. We can see up over the fence just fine with the chairs 2 feet from the fence. These are considered balcony height chairs, and I know some companies out there make a bar height which are a few inches higher, but these work just fine for us. They got to me in about five days, the first one took me about 20 minutes to put together by myself, and the second one maybe 10 to 15 minutes. Would’ve been even faster if I would’ve asked my wife to help. I weigh close to 300 pounds and they feel very sturdy. The middle section that connects the chairs slide into built-in grooves. You could even connects more than two together with more of these middle pieces. I like that I can slide them apart fairly easy if I want to move the chairs individually and not have to pick up a giant set of two. I stopped at a couple reputable outdoor furniture places around me and to get an equivalent set, I was looking at closer to $2000, and even then, it was 8 to 10 weeks for delivery. Like many people I shopped a lot of different websites and read a lot of reviews, if you are in that same boat, please stop and just buy these. You will not be disappointed ... show more
