I have a vacation rental condo in Panama City Beach, FL that has a set of twin xl bunk beds. I bought 2 of these to encapsulate and protect my new memory foam mattresses purchased at a local mattress store. There are two reasons we use these type of protective covers on all of our mattresses. 1) To protect them from any kind of stains such as urine from children or blood every 28 days from indiscriminate guests enjoying themselves << yes that really happens when people are on vacation. 2) To protect the mattresses from a bed bug infestation when guests stop at a cheap motel and carry them into the condo on their luggage. I examined the product sold at the mattress store and ordered these to compare and they are actually better quality for 1/4 of the price. They have extra material for the length so fitment is easier than others I have used and a Zipper tab that is sealed with Velcro. The material is thicker providing more protection and is less likely to be ripped when linens are changed every week by our housekeepers or damaged by careless guests. We just bought another to replace a cover in our home that was too tight for the twinXL mattress and this one fits perfect ... show more

this is a great mattress enclosure. the water resistance is great. it does tear so you need to be careful if you move the bed with it on. it is as easy to install as it is to wrestle with the mattress lol. for the price I would recommend and it is nice to have the security of the waterproof on the mattress. ... show more

I love that this protects the entire mattress and not only the top. It was very easy to put on the mattress! I can't comment on on how waterproof it is but it seems like it will do a great job at protecting the mattress. The quality seems to be just as good as one that I've had in the past that cost triple the price of this one! The zipper is good quality as well as the velcro to go over it.
