The color for Christmas was so bright and a very true bright red (hard to find). The shag is thick and even though the rug is thinner itself (we put over carpeting) it feels very plush to sit on and to walk on. Our pets LOVE it too. I would recommend this rug to anyone—what a great value.

I originally purchased the terracotta color in 5x6, but it didn't fill up my office space quite like I was hoping. I ordered this along with a rug pad for my bedroom, which has hard vinyl flooring, to function as carpet. I've only had it a few days so I can't comment on durability, stain resistance, etc. But here are my initial thoughts in terms of expectations vs reality. These kinds of online purchases are definitely tricky! The good: the rug is soft and appears to be good quality. It is the exact gray I expected and it goes well with my room. I didn't find any snags or snares on the outer part of the rug. It's a little shaggier than I expected but I actually like it. It arrived really quickly and was easy to unfold and roll out in my room. The annoying: My goal was to have the rug fill the entire room as if it were carpet, to save the expense of removing high quality vinyl flooring and installing carpet. While I don't care about precision or perfection with the fit (have to be realistic when doing this kind of hack), I did expect it to fill the entire room. My room is exactly 8' 11 1/2" by 11' 11 1/2", so I ordered the 9 x 12. I knew carpets aren't always exactly the size advertised, and I could work with it being a little too big or a little too small, but wasn't expecting it to be a lot small. But it is, lengthwise, by about 4 inches. And it's a little big widthwise. Based on the structure of my room, I can hide the short end for the most part, but it's still frustrating - 4 inches is actually a lot and means that the carpet is actually 11' 7 1/2 inches instead of 12 ft. Again, I can deal and this is probably a unique issue of trying to fill a room to the corners, but it's still a bummer. Overall I'm good with it and will make it work. I love this rug, not too tall of a shag to show foot prints when you walk on it, which is what I prefer. Not soft, just good old shag. Color is taupe, a lighter shade of taupe and it's all good for me. I have had it in the dining room for a week letting it flatten out. Lots of areas needed books and chairs on the edges and it's straightening out. Still haven't put it in LR but I believe it will be perfect. Whoever packaged it could have straightened out the one end when rolling it up because that's the end I'm working on -- but it's there now so putting in down today. Not a bad rug for the price. And I believe it will be easy to spot clean and keep up even with a dog in the house. ... show more

So, I had this rug for 3 years. I know you're thinking you want a shag rug. It's ok I did too. You see all the pretty styled photos on Pinterest and Instagram and think omg that looks soft and plush and pretty and adds so much texture to the space. Yeah... they do in the photos. The thing is, in those photos you don't see how it looks when it's lived with. In the product images... no one lives there. Those influencer spaces on social media... they show it freshly styled and vacuumed. What they don't show is how it looks after its walked on multiple times per day. It looks like how a footpath through tall grass looks. They don't show how it catches every single bit of stuff. Bits of paper. Fuzzy bits of something you aren't actually sure where it came from because you own nothing fuzzy. Crumbs from your nephew who stayed overnight, but didnt even eat near the rug. Also, no vacuum thoroughly cleans a shag rug. They claim to... but no. Basically... if you want to live with a giant swiffer duster on your floor that you can't put in the washer.... get a big shag rug. ... show more

It's soft, flattened out easily with the help of some rug grippers and the quality is top notch! Especially for the price! The rug was shipped on time ans actually arrived a day early!
