  • This is definitely one of the best cases I've worked with!
Being able to remove all the panels makes installing parts and cable management very easy. I thought I wasn't going to be able to fit a Corsair H60 in there but the case handles it like a champ. There's so much ventilation that it doesn't really need extra case fans. It's very light and uses thin aluminum that the drive cage legs can be bent. Installing the hard drives are a little awkward, but that's to be expected in this tiny thing. Another plus I just found out that it fits great in one of the cubbies of this ikea Expedit shelf! Definitely getting another Core V1 when I build my next PC. • I will not buy Thermaltake again.
Case is made of cheap materials, thats fine for a $40 case. Will have great airflow once my build is complete and looks pretty decent. Gets ONE STAR because three of four feet were snapped off on delivery... Not like they popped out (they have four little tabs that hold them in place), but the snap tabs keeping them attached had broken off. Completely snapped off. Twelve little black pieces of plastic fell to my floor after taking the case out of its plastic. Case was secure in its shipping box, and box was in perfect shape, so it does not appear to have been damaged due to shipper's negligence, just super fragile feet apparently... Three of four broken, that is well beyond a fluke. I can't return since I need this for my build or be without a computer for who knows how long. I moved to this case from a Lian Li all-aluminum case, incredible quality, so I wasn't expecting that level, but I also wasn't expecting a case that is unusable without me repairing it myself. I will not buy Thermaltake again. I took a risk in buying a more budget-friendly case since this fit my needs (wanted something small, airy, quiet, and a 200mm fan was also something I wanted), and am now regretting it. ... show more

  • If I could do it over, I wouldn't get this case.
I did some serious research before buying this unit. Unfortunately, many reviews simply are not critical these days. I like the looks of this unit a lot and the size is right. It certainly is easy to take apart and gain access to the internals and it sits well off the ground on sturdy legs. The view port is nice and the large fan is a plus. There is good venting for airflow. HOWEVER: Several problems with this case. - Instructions are terrible... not much help there. - The front grill is a three part assembly and the dust filter is just a porous felt that you can't easily remove and clean. So, when it got clogged (which happened quickly), I had to take off the metal grill off the plastic frame. That was a royal pain. The grill is attached via soft metal tabs, which had to be bent out before accessing the filter. Those tabs won't stand up to much frequent bending and will definitely break off at some point if you clean the filter regularly. I did try to vacuum the unit, but it didn't work very well. The dust just sat firmly in the felt filter. When i did take out the filter and cleaned it, it wasn't perfect and it got deformed, so putting it back was yet another major pain. In the end, I threw it out and will have to perform regular maintenance on the internals... That really sucks. I don't know what prevented them from incorporating a removable filter. I doubt it's so difficult (but more expensive). Hard drive mounting bays are crappy. They're just pieces of soft stamped metal. They bend easily and they are affixed by simply shoving the metal pieces into poorly formed railings. Very imprecise. There are no positive clicks or pee-formed receptacles. Very bad execution. Motherboard mounting is about the same as above. No high quality mounting stand offs exist. The mobo bay is again stamped. It's not removable separately and the holes are much too small for the screws, so considerable force had to be applied to screw in the fasteners. The mounting holes are not threaded, so the first time you do it, you're threading the posts. I would suggest driving the fasteners in first to thread the posts and only after that install the mobo. Once the mother board is installed, there is no easy way to access the underside, so if your cpu has a back plate, don't try to take it off unless you absolutely have to. In order to re-apply heat sink paste, I had to remove the mobo entirely... argh.. It's good that the power unit compartment has a filter on the underside and some space to vent. Cable management is so-so. I had enough room to position them because there is some space in the front before the big fan, but after i ran all the cables, they are in the way of air flow. Not a big issue, but this case has enough issues as it is. ... show more
