this awning could have come with much more definitive instructions. No where does it say the motor has a overheat thermal protection, It is not clear how to adjust the limits. Overall I think it would be a much more valued item if it were clearer.

There are some things that can make the assembly easier, like filing the inside of connecting pieces where the holes are punched for screws. I'll give the directions 92%. PAY ATTENTION to the part that states to role it in if it rains or is windy. I had just finished installing mine and adjusting the angle or pitch. I went in to get the wife to see it. Before we even got outside, a burst of wind came from what was a very still afternoon. By the time we got outside the wind had ripped off all 3 extension arms. Basically destroying the awning less than 5 minutes after putting it up. It does take some time to reel it in, so I would only use it when you are present. Takes some work to get it adjusted properly but works great once you do. My only complaint so far is the fabric is VERY sun faded after only 1 month so I don't know how long it will last.

The product itself seems fine. After only one month it’s hard to say much else. The customer service is terrible. To compound the problem the installation instructions are, if not useless, at least unhelpful. I called on a question and got a quick answer. That was it. I have called several times and left messages as directed, nothing. I’ve sent e mails, as directed, still no response. If you buy this awning, read the instructions carefully several times several parts can be installed two ways and the correct installation is not obvious nor is it indicated. ... show more

INCREDIBLY difficult to assemble. When the box arrived and I read the instructions, they were poorly written, but with a mechanical background I figured I could work it out from the diagrams - wrong! Then after five hours of assembly, I realized the factory had mounted one of the spring arms upside down. I had to partially disassemble the awning and invert the arm. Then we finally mounted to our house. All was smooth until CRACK - one of the metal slide guides for the arms snapped. After examining it, I found it was some sort of pot metal and just weak. I disassembled and returned as fast as I could get it to UPS. Terribly disappointed. ... show more
