This light has a bright light, good size for my kitchen, and a sensible design. The light started flickering like a rave after 5 months of use and staying off for longer periods of time after that. I'm hoping it's a fluke and the next one I purchase from them lasts longer than 6-7 months. My previous incandescent light fixture lasted for over 15 years. Why can't newer technology last at least half as long? I guess it may be too much to ask for. ... show more

As some other reviews have said, the materials may appear to some as "non-substantial," however (like others have said), the installed product looks fabulous! This is my first LED-type ceiling light and I am super impressed! Really lit up my walk-in closet! I am installing a motion sensor light switch one of these days as well so I can enter and leave with my hands full of clothes and not have to fumble for the switch (plus save money by keeping me from leaving the light on all day). I am also putting in a motion sensor switch with dimmer so if me or my husband has to get up early, we can keep the light low and not disturb the other. My husband has just enough experience to install ceiling lights and switches on his own if things don't get too complicated. He said he had no trouble at all installing this light and was happy about that. I only gave it four stars because I found a small "dimple" in the metal ring upon opening the box, which surprised me because it arrived in a very substantial box inside another very substantial box. Therefore, the "dimple" happened when it was manufactured or packed and quality control did not catch it. However, no one will ever notice the "dimple" on this installed light, so I plan on forgetting about it. That said, there was one other issue that did tick me off. There are 3 metal rods that extend from one metal ring on the "base" (wired part) to the second metal ring (effectively holding the diffusing cover in place) and then 3 metal "caps" that screw on to tighten and secure it all together. A problem existed (which thankfully was learned upon opening the box and fiddling with the product instead of while up on a ladder trying to install) where the rods end in a screw in which the "caps" screw onto for tightening. The "screw" at the end of the rod is NOT fixed -- you can unscrew it out of the rod OR you can screw it all the way into the rod. IF these screws are not placed at the exact right length (all three of them not too short), then you will not be able to get all three caps tightened around the white cover and fail the installation of the product. Once you realized the screws are adjustable and set them correctly, there is absolutely no issue. I just got ticked off because it would have been so easy in the manufacturing to have the screws fixed at the correct length to begin with. In the end, however, I am giving this product a very good review because everything else has met my expectations and I would buy another one again. I'm thinking about getting two of the 12" ones and changing my lights in my laundry room... they look really cool installed and the lighting is very clear and bright. ... show more

After only 6 months it began flickering and flashing. I first contacted the manufacturer, who was very kind, but they said I needed to first try to work through Amazon seller. I am waiting to hear back from Seller. I will update. UPDATE: The Amazon Seller replied and sent a new light out to me. New light is installed and working. ... show more

I purchased the light Feb. 2018 for my kitchen. Looked really good and worked well for 5 years. I thought LED lights supposed to last really long. Recently, noticed the light flickering on and off. Initially thought something was wrong with my PV system batter. Then realized it was just the kitchen light. My thought then was that perhaps the dimmer that i installed when i bought the light was the issue. Bought new dimmer - installed - #$%^ light still flickers on and off . The issue is the light. Apparently based upon other reviews, i am not the only one experiencing this issue. Now have to buy and installed new light for Kitchen. Damn! ... show more
