I bought this in Dec of 2017. It's LED lighting and so I thought this would last 10+ years. The last couple months the light will come on and go off sporadically. I uninstalled and reinstalled it to make sure nothing happened to the wiring. It looks like it's the led control driver.. if you give it a smack it will come back on sometimes. I have another of the exact same unit on the same switch that works fine. Pretty disappointing since it's not a quick light bulb change. It's not cheap to be failing so soon. Update 5/2020: the 2nd one that I have just went out as well. These lights are garbage. You have to change the whole light fixture when these go out. Don't buy these! ... show more

I have now purchased 3 of these 12" LED Warm light models. Instillation was very easy and approximately 5-10 minutes per light but I have had a lot of practice at changing out fixtures. The quality was what I hoped for the price range. I have placed 2 in bedrooms, and 1 in my office. So far I am happy with the look and feel of all three and look forward to the LED efficiency. I purchased this 12" light as well as the 16" version to use in my basement replacing some ceiling fans that weren't being used. The reason I chose these lights were for their low profile and high lumen output relative to their size. I've retrofitted nearly every bulb in my house with LED, and this time decided to give an integrated LED fixture a try. Overall I'm somewhat satisfied with the purchase. The light output and color temperature is perfect. As an engineer with experience in manufacturing, my only complaint would be the overall build quality of the fixture. Up close it appears very cheap. A comparable non-LED fixture of this quality would be lucky to be sold for $15. The metal parts are thin stamped metal which appear to have been manually scuffed on a buffing wheel to give them the brushed look. As a result the finish is fairly inconsistent. The globe itself is plastic, and cheap plastic at that. All that said, with fixture installed, the quality issues aren't noticeable from a distance. They look like modern fixtures of decent quality with a standard brushed finish. I'm giving it 3 stars mostly because while the light output is great, the build quality relative to the price is not. If the build quality was higher, or the price lower; I'd easily give these 4 or 5 stars. ... show more

Why only 4 stars...there were a couple of light scratches (meaning not a silver on metal scratch, just a slight discoloration) on the lower ring, HOWEVER, they were barely noticeable, and after installation, I can't see them. Also I don't spend my time staring at my light fixtures...I just use them. So as for quality, its just fine. plastic shade, thin metal everything else (which is all that is necessary). Makes it light and easy to install (for me, but I am handy and have a basic understanding of how to install lights, and switches, and outlets etc. For new people ENSURE THERE IS NO POWER TO YOUR LIGHT by TURNING OFF THE BREAKER, if you don't know don't do it, and ask for help). All the LEDs worked perfectly. I am totally satisfied with the brightness. Dimmable too! see pictures (one is off, one is low dim, and the last is full bright) I would buy another, just may for some other spots in the house. ... show more

We bought 2 LED ceiling lights last summer and love them. The height of the light is perfect for our basement bedrooms that have a low ceiling. It's was the first time that my husband installed a ceiling light and it only took him 15 minutes to put the first one up and 10 minutes for the second one (he already took the old broken lights down a week ago). Put it up above the kitchen sink, its the light we tend to leave on. The next day mid day it burned out. So I put the old fixture back up and returned this as defective. It had a slight "it released the magic blue smoke smell" to it when I took it down so my guess is the power inverter burned out. The lower metal band is a L shape and would over time collect alot of dust on top that would be hard to clean without taking it off. Also as my wife said its not a natural light color it throws colors off of items which in the kitchen makes it hard to tell if things are fully cooked etc. It is super easy to install and looks nice so if you don't actually need light... then it may be for you. I replaced an older LED fixture that had started incessantly flashing. Strobes are not good in a hallway. This fixture was received promptly. contents were in fine condition, with no missing or damaged parts. It took more time to remove the old fixture and prepare the ceiling box than it did to install the new fixture. Everything you need is included except the tools! All you really need to do the installation is a screwdriver. I'll be getting a few mor of these to replace some really ugly fixtures in the rest of the house. Excellent value here. ... show more

I bought our first set of 3 lights for our new home purchase. I didn’t pay close attention to the options on brightness and by default you get the bright white. They are bright for a bedroom. After a hear of use (and no complaints other than the brightness) I picked 4 more in soft white and swapped out the ones in the bedrooms, and I’m very pleased with the results. Moved the bright whites into the laundry room and hallways. Work great and so far, no issues. Very happy with them. Will buy more over time as needed. ... show more
