  • Nothing but (intermittent) trouble for my under-counter LED strips
I used the EvZ 10PCS LED 5050 Single Colour Strip Light Connector for installing some undercounter LED strips, and they have been nothing but trouble. The connectors will NOT adequately "grab" the strips to maintain a good connection. Most do, but some don't, and I don't like having to walk into the kitchen, turn on the lights, and then reach under the upper cabinets to press/wiggle a connector so one or more of the strips will work. I used similar connectors from a different manufacturer (with different, but compatible LED strips) in another house, and never had this problem. ... show more

  • Be somewhat gentle and they will work fine
Just got around to using these to hook up my ABelle LED Strip Light Plant Grow Lights that I had cut into 4 foot strips to go with my existing grow light setup. These worked fine for what I wanted to do with only one real problem. When opening up one of the end locks (only bother opening the outside one where the connectors are) it cracked off. I did not think I was heavy handed in popping it up, but it did tear away. Fortunately I had extra. Additionally this was the first time I had worked with these 5050 light strips so I was learning the hookup process as I went (no directions with anything I received, and the image shown with this product does not show you needing to cut away the vinyl covering over the metal tabs on the light strip to allow a connection). Also while the wire gauge is somewhat suspect it appears to be ample to handle the load from the light strip. You may want to check how much current is going to be used if you plan to run a lot of these strips in series. So overall these work fine, just be a little delicate with the lock tabs. ... show more

  • This connector comes with out instructions
Connect strips of LED strip lights. 1. The connector comes without any instructions or link to the manufacturer. You will have to destroy at least one connector to figure out how to get the things open. 2. Amazon advertises them as being purchased with LED Plant Grow Light Strip, OUEVA 16.4ft/5M SMD 5050 300 LEDs IP65 Waterproof (Red Blue 4:1) Tape Light for Aquarium Greenhouse Hydroponic Plant Garden Flowers Veg (No 12V 5A Power Adapter). They will not work with this light strip. The light strip has a silicone cover over the LEDs that cannot be cut back to allow access to the connector points. ... show more

  • Great connectors!!!
These led strip connectors make installations a piece of cake. Soldering is the gold standard for any electrical connection but time and the difficulty of my install made me give these a shot..... and I'm glad I did. The install was under my kitchen cabinets. I had estimates done by electricians and handymen which wanted upwards of $500.00 and at least 3 days. Are you kidding??!! That was enough motivation for me to tackle the job. Multiple turns, obstacles, and running wire so it can't be seen didn't make for a fun project. Soldering would've doubled the install time and really frazzled my nerves. After the install, I thought, well after all that work, and if one of these connectors failed, I'd have to backtrack and trace the short. Not fun. And..these lights are going to be subjected to daily/constant on/off cycles because they're wired to an Alexa switch. Not to mention the routine kitchen hazards to. My worries were for naught though as that was over three years ago and my under cabinet led's are still going strong. My estimators wanted 3 days and a ton of cash. I spent under $100.00 and finished the whole thing in 5 hours. DIY is definitely the way to go. I recently ordered some more for a sewing cabinet project that I was "volunteered" into doing. These connectors passed on all counts in my book. And if they're surviving kitchen hell as of now, an elderly lady's sewing cabinet is a piece of cake for the connectors. And me. ... show more

  • They would work great if
So I bought these to avoid having to solder the connections to the led light strip behind the television that ripped from the controller unit. The problem was that the light strip contact points were just a little narrower than the points within the clasp connectors. I may have chosen the wrong size of connectors. My light strip was a All in One single color pack by luminoodle with the remote. The strip it self fit perfectly in the clasp, it was just just connections were off by .030- .040 each way from making a solid contact point. Minuscule difference that I had to Frankenstein the connectors and solder the connections in to place. I can’t say don’t buy them. I can say they didn’t work for me and they might work for you. Just definitely not with the Luminoodle Bias Strip. ... show more

  • Overall a very good product.
Works exactly as expected; however, two things to note: 1) End connectors are very small and very hard to pry open; this is good and bad...bad because they are difficult to open but good because once closed there is no way (unless pried open again) they will open on their own; and, 2) I've had two that will not continually stay on the copper contacts of the LED strips which lead to flickering lights or unlit sections. I know that if I pull them off and replace them they will work (I've done this already) but since I've already stapled the LED strips in place--and because the connectors are very hard to open--this isn't an easy task. At present, I've been able to secure the problem connectors in a way that they cannot be disturbed and they are working fine. (In fairness to the manufacturer, this could be an end-user issue which could relate to how well I have been able to remove the insulating/protective clear rubber from the LED strips...which--in the kind of strips I use--has to be cut and removed from the strip to expose the copper connectors.) ... show more

  • Exercise in frustration...
I've had to replace two of the wires for my LED strip lights because the connector burned out, and the third - as another reviewer said - had to be jiggled to turn it on because, as another reviewer said - the clips don't always do what they're meant to do... hold on to the strip! What that means - is that if you're not paying attention, your seedlings will decide they need to grow some legs and find the sun on their own. Tremendous annoyance. The reliability on these things is haphazard at best. I'm glad I had about six extra or I'd be up the creek without a paddle. ... show more
