But with kids who often spill drinks or food, I didn’t want to stress about a dirty rug all the time. Finding a 9x12 rug that didn’t have a distracting pattern or wasn’t too expensive was hard to do. This is a good option in a lower price range and I won’t feel bad if it needs replaced in a couple of years. It is not terribly soft, but it seems durable. I got a very thin rug pad just to keep it in place, but that probably isn’t necessary since we have furniture on all sides. A thicker pad would make it more pleasant to sit on though. It’s a great rug for the price. The price is low and the rug is a great size for the price. The color is perfect and the shag is what I was looking for in my retro themed room. However, there are bald spots that you see at times as the shag pieces aren’t tightly woven together. My cat only had a blanket but she loves laying next to my bed. Now she lays around my bedroom a lot, on this rug! Not too light, so I don't need rug tape. Not too heavy. Absolutely perfect.

Just received my rug today. My neighbor came over to help because it was too heavy for me. Once we got it laid down I had to put heavy items on the ends and corners because it kept curling up. I vacuumed it and it looks great. There was a very sticky sticker on the looms of the carpet which I couldn't just peel off. I had to carefully cut it out. Was so worried that it wouldn’t match my decor but it was absolutely perfect! It’s soft and pretty. It’s not thick so if you want to lay out on it, I suggest a pad underneath BUT I purchased for aesthetics and it did not disappoint.
