I was a little nervous the rug would be cheap somehow because of the price. I was impressed. I will not need a pad for this rug. The pile is thick and high enough to skip the pad. Temporary area rug until we decide whether to do wall to wall carpet. Very good quality for the price. Soft to the touch, however we placed the rug on top ig existing carpet.

I love the rug... it's taken a bit to get the fold marks out but it lies flat and with rug tape at the corners stays put for vacuuming and every day use. Totally worth the investment.

The carpet was damage by being folded instead of being rolled. So it has a few hold were the rug cracked the backing.
