  • Good Purchase ... UPDATE
NOV 2020 UPDATE -- I have been using these glasses since July 2020 and am happy to report they have held up well and are easy to clean. I point this out because the inexpensive glasses I've tried in the past have been a disappointment. The lenses frequently fall out, they fog, and are not easy to clean because they streak and still remain foggy ... just not very clear. So I decided to try these until I can get to the eye doctor and get a prescription for some progressive type lenses, reading glasses, etc. However, I would like to point out that I have purchased computer glasses recommended that my eye doctor recommended that did not work as well as these glasses. So we'll see. I use these glasses for about 16 hours a day while I do research and work on my computer. I can no longer read my computer screen without help. Unlike some of my previous glasses these do not have any distortions ... which is important when you keep them on and walk away from your work space! I'm now a senior citizen and I don't need anything that is going to cause me to fall. I am pleasantly surprised with the blue blockage. I have tried other glasses for this but could never really tell the difference. They definitely relieve eye strain. When I remove the glasses the brightness and glare from the computer screen is definitely noticeable. I have noticed where some have commented on the quality of the frame ... that they are flimsy. All I can say about that is I don't have a problem. Yes, they are light weight and will flex. I'm not directing this at anyone ... but I was raised to take care of things. I have things I purchased in the 60's that I'm still using. I don't rip these off my face, but I do frequently use only one hand to put them on and off and I haven't had any problems. I don't let them get very far from my work station, but if I were to put them in my purse I would definitely put them in an eye glass case. Okay ... why not five stars? Well it really has nothing to do with the glasses. It has to do with the box they come it. It is too nice. The case is nice ... nicer than any I've received with any glasses ... expensive or inexpensive. However, the case is in a 'strong arm' box with magnet closures. To me it is an overkill. It is nice enough that you don't want to just throw it away ... but I don't want a box with the name of the glasses on it. During my career with the Navy I use to take ratty file boxes and cover them with contact paper and they looked great ... like new. It takes patience though. However, it saved tax dollars because I wouldn't have to order something new. Problem is that I don't feel like covering this box. First I'd have to find something I would want to keep in it ... and that escapes me at the moment. I would rather have a reduced price for the glasses than such a nice box to ship the glasses and case in. It would be better for the environment too. I'm trying to get rid of things. I don't need extra things to store because I have trouble throwing it away. So ... yes I recommend these and am back to make another purchase. I'm just not happy about having to chuck another d*** strong arm box with magnets! ... show more

  • Good
Not as good quality as my first pair but I’m keeping them. Still comfortable.

  • Great, but beware of focal length
I love these glasses! The lenses are as described and so far have helped reduce my eye strain and headaches (I work on a computer all day). However, these are basically common readers with (special coatings to reduce blue light, UV, etc as described), so you need to understand the focal length!!! The description says if you are working on a computer monitor that is 19+ inches away, order 1/2 the power of your normal readers. MAKE SURE you pay attention to that detail! With common readers, the stronger the power, the shorter the focal length. I normally use a 2.00 pair of drug store readers for reading books or my cell phone because I can't focus up close (normal aging related presbyopia). But to date, I haven't used glasses for my daily work on the computer. However, lately I've been having trouble with the smaller print on my monitor, so I assumed I needed some magnification. Long story short, I ordered 1.75. Unfortunately, for me these have a focal length of about 12-14 inches. Useless for my work on a computer which sits about 24" from my face. This company's customer service didn't seem to understand my questions about focal length (probably because I didn't understand about how it all works either) but they were *very responsive* and in the end sent me a pair of 1.00 free of charge, which work perfectly for me! So I'm very happy! Edit: after 1 month: I like these so much, I ordered a second pair of 1.0 for use at home ... show more

  • Good magnifying glasses.
Nice looking glasses, these so far work much better than the CVS/Costco cheapo pairs I've had (about 2 dozens of them) before, as Prospeks are 20 dollars more expensive, I guess you get what you paid for. I have never had blue light blocker so I have nothing to compare to, besides I just got my Prospeks 15 min ago. So I have to do follow ups on that. Update; now that I have used these on me about 4 days straight, I still haven't felt any difference blue light blocking wise. That is not to say they are not effective, I just can't tell any difference between these and the "non blocking kind" pair I used to use. Same fatigue on my eyes, same sleeping issues at night. Again, that is not to say Prospek aren't effective, I just can't feel it. Additional review 6/18/20 Now that i owned them for 10 days, l started to feel the glasses' frame little wobbly. Every time i wipe the lenses, i can feel these lenses coming loose off frame and i really have to go gentle. for the reason being these hinges at the bottom of arms don't have any play at all, they are cheaply made and not very forgiving, therefore every stress on them will twist the frame. Considering these are 40 dollars pair of simple reading glasses (not even multi focal, good ol' magnifying lenses, plus possible blue light blocker) these are not very well made. For a few days they fit my face well, then after a week, its been out stretched from its shape to the point they started falling off when l look down. If you ask my opinion about these particular style Prospeks, i'd suggest spend your money elsewhere - these are way over priced cheap glasses with fancy color frames with nice carrying case, they do come in with nice box and carrying case. As for blue light blocker, i still don't know if there's any difference, please ask your blocker specialists out there about it. ... show more

  • Best out of the 5 different brands I bought
These are amazing. I was super concerned when I saw the price. I also researched and these came up as one of the top five blue light blocker readers. I bought five different brands and this is my go-to. They really block out all the glare, my eyes are less tired and they are comfortable to wear. I highly recommend this brand. ... show more
