  • Griddle top is peeling and metal peaces are going into our food
Griddle top is peeling and metal peaces are going into our food. Unit works great however the griddle top is garbage. This unit is about 10 months old.

  • It works great. Minor things I'd like to see improved on but overall very good griddle.
This griddle works well and seems to be well made. I am updating my review since I have had a little more time to become acquainted with the griddle operation. I didn't like the control knobs and the way they sparked the ignitor but after some getting used to they work well. Push and hold as you turn the knob to HI. I was originally pushing and the releasing as I turned. No, keep it pushed until it is in the HI position. I Still think the hose is too short. I replaced it with a longer one and a top shelf regulator. The grease catch pan could also be bigger. The actual cup size is small compared to the chunk of metal fascia it is attached to. ... show more

  • I've tried return.
I had a short-term shock when I took the product out of the box. The product, which had no problems in its box, was hit by an accident and was bumped all over and the material was deformed. There was no sign of damage in the box. If there is one thing I can say about this product, which is said to be quality control, the quality control staff have checked something else. I'm not saying it's scratched or rubbed. If you throw the product you know from the 2nd floor, it would be so bad. I will stay away from this brand because it gives me a very bad process over the holidays for my return. When you look at the photos, it must be clear what I'm saying. ... show more

  • RUSTS! IMPOSSIBLE TO CLEAN!
I am experienced in using iron skillets, etc. I bought Cuisinart because I have loved their products. I set up an outdoor kitchen and placed this griddle on a dedicated stainless table UNDER cover and even made a cover for it. It is extremely hard to clean and rusts between EVERY use! I have even oiled it between uses. I spent extra time to cure it properly. It does not drain the grease into the catch. Very disappointing. ... show more

  • Not so Good
We cooked a variety of things on this griddle: bacon, pepper and onion, steak - we were very disappointed in the heat distribution with some areas of the griddle being super hot and other quite cold, toward the back was hot towards the front cold, which reminds me of most gas grills that I have used. This might be because the burners are U-Shaped. Bacon made a huge mess and the grease trap isn't adequate in size, people hated the cleaning of it even though you can left the griddle quite easily off. Less than impressive results for the cooking of steak, and the onions and peppers didn't work out very well either. If I could return it I would do so as fast as possible - but sadly I cannot. ... show more

  • BIG Skillet on the Patio = Yum!
This is not a bbq grill. It's a griddle, a massive cast-iron slab ... and it's a good one. The whole purpose of cast iron is to retain heat --- lots of it --- to allow searing. This does things a bbq cannot. On the other hand, it also doesn't do grilling link a bbq. So, this makes for an excellent side-by-side. If you like seared veggies and shrimp and scallops, etc., this is the outdoor tool. Do the meats on the grill, leave the peppers, onions, and mushrooms to this contraption. It's "portable" (if you're a gym rat), as long as you either tote a 20-lb propane tank or a small gas bottle. Think this way --- if you've switched to cast iron in the kitchen and like the results, this will do the same on the patio. ... show more

  • Great griddle! Make sure you clean and then season the cook surface well
Overall this griddle is pretty badass. Really great for tailgating or car camping. There are 2 things I'd offer up as useful knowledge after my first weekend out with it. 1) Get it early enough that you have time to season it, seasoning makes a huge difference. It arrived from Amazon the evening before my trip so I didnt have a chance to season the cook surface and it worked but it was not ideal. When I got it home I spent a whole day with it and a can of oven cleaner, some steel wool, and a bottle of grapeseed oil to clean up the messy cook surface and give it a proper season. The instructions tell you to season it by using the heating elements on the griddle itself however this is not safe to do indoors (if you're in an apartment like me) so I set my oven to 500F and seasoned it like my cast irons instead by placing in the oven for 1hr for each layer of oil. 2.) Wind is a problem. If you're camping somewhere with high winds the surface of the griddle wont get hot enough to cook anything. We resolved this issue by placing a cooler behind it as a wind break and it was like night and day. If you're going to be using your griddle somewhere windy, you'll need a way to block the wind. ... show more

  • Poor product quality and customer service
Product comes fully assembled, almost. 4 legs need to be screwed into the base, but 3 of them were damaged and the product could not be assembled. Called customer service who gave me a number for a third party they have handling this product line. I purchased this product because of the Cuisinart name, but they don't even service their our equipment. It would have been nice if they had, at minimum, forwarded my request for parts to the company they had contracted for warranty service rather than just giving me another company to call. ... show more
