  • Perfect for a kids bed
Style: Mattress Only Pattern Name: 8 Inch Size: Full
We purchased 2 variants of this mattress for my son's new bunk bed (twin over full). The full was the 8 inch ZINUS 8 Inch Green Tea Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress. So that has seen the most use. Its probably a bit overkill for a 5 year old. But we wanted something that we could lay in bed next to our child, and still be comfortable. We are now debating getting something similar for our own room. I think the 8 inch is perfect for that. We also got the 8 inch ZINUS 8 Inch Green Tea Essential Memory Foam for the top bunk. It hasn't seen the same amount of use. And maybe that is why I really can't tell the difference between the two. I think I like the gel model more, and its only like $10 between the two. If you are looking to replace a mattress for an adult, I would suggest getting at least the 10 inch if not 12. I have slept in this 8 inch version a few times, and its well worth the price. But if we were to get a replacement king size for us adults, I think it would be well worth going to the 12 inch. There were reviews about how well it expands. After about an hour, everything was almost completely expanded. Except for the corners. After a day or two, fully expanded, including the corners. And its very close to a full 8 inches. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. ... show more

  • Excellent Mattress - Can't Beat the Price!
Style: Mattress Only Pattern Name: 12 Inch Size: Queen
Update: 3 years later, I still love this mattress. It’s held up, is supportive and comfortable and never sleeps hot. It’s been a very good buy for me. It’s a very good inexpensive mattress that has proven to be a great value. I replaced a 20+ year old Sleep Number mattress with this mattress. I've had it over a week now and love it. The mattress is medium firm, which I like. The top layer of gel-infused foam provides a bit of sink in comfort, but not to the extent that it's hard to move or change positions. Mine expanded to a full 12" within 2-3 hours of putting it on my bed (I kept the Sleep Number foundation on the bed under this mattress). I don't wake up with back or shoulder pain at all. My old Sleep Number mattress was giving me both. To give you an idea of the give in the top layer, I have attached a couple of pics of my dogs on the mattress. I will say, they LOVE the new mattress and I have a hard time getting my Pittie (Black & White pup) to get off of it. The Rottie/Shepherd weighs about 92 pounds and you can see, the mattress has a good amount of cushioning for joints and pressure points. It's been a GREAT buy! I will check back in 3 months and a year so I can say how the mattress holds up over time. Can't beat the price on this and I will be buying another one for my son soon. A month and a half later - STILL loving this mattress. It is still very comfortable. I sleep great. I don't think it sleeps hot. I don't wake up with back or shoulder pain. I bought a second one on Prime Day for my son. I don't think you can go wrong with this mattress. Four months later - this mattress is still great! My Pittie races me up the stairs to the bedroom and jumps in the bed first. When I'm at work, she sleeps on the bed. I love it. It's firm, yet comfy. I'm never hot and my room is the hottest room in the house during summer. I've recommended this mattress to all my friends and family. This has been an excellent value. 14 months later - This mattress has held up well over time. It’s still firm yet with enough cushion to be very comfortable. It has continued to be an excellent value for the money paid. No backaches or shoulder pain after sleeping on it. Both my son’s and my mattress are in excellent condition. I continue to recommend this mattress. ... show more

  • Heavenly Comfort and Support - ZINUS 12 Inch Green Tea Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress Delivers!
Style: Mattress Only Pattern Name: 12 Inch Size: Queen
I recently upgraded to the ZINUS 12 Inch Green Tea Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress, and I must say, it has been a game-changer for my sleep quality. This mattress offers an exceptional level of comfort and support at an unbeatable price. After sleeping on this bed for a little over two months, I can confidently say that it's one of the most comfortable mattresses I've ever owned in this price range. The balance between softness and support is truly remarkable. While I was used to firmer mattresses, the ZINUS mattress has proven to be perfect for me. I sink in just slightly, creating a feeling of being cradled by a gentle cloud, providing a luxurious and restful sleep experience. As someone weighing around 160 pounds, I find this mattress to be ideal for those who prefer a softer yet supportive surface. It conforms to my body's contours and provides the right amount of give without compromising on proper spinal alignment. Waking up with reduced back and shoulder discomfort has been a pleasant surprise. During this current heatwave, I noticed that the mattress tends to get a little warm at night. However, it's essential to consider that I tend to sleep hot, and my experience may vary from others. Nonetheless, I wanted to bring up this point for potential buyers to be aware of. I'm confident that the mattress will likely cool down during the cooler months, providing a more balanced temperature regulation. But if you are in a hotter state and sleep hot, maybe consider an alternative cooling solution in addition to the mattress. The ZINUS 12 Inch Green Tea Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress has exceeded my expectations in every way. Its heavenly comfort and support, combined with the affordable price, make it a standout option in the market. If you're looking for a mattress that cradles you like a cloud while providing ample support, this is the one for you. While I experienced slight warmth during a warmer period in my state, the overall performance of the mattress compensates for this minor concern. I am thrilled with my purchase and look forward to many more nights of restful sleep on this exceptional mattress. Don't miss out on the opportunity to elevate your sleep experience with the ZINUS Green Tea Cooling Gel Memory Foam Mattress! ... show more

  • No doubt that it is a value for money mattress
Style: Mattress + Bed Frame Pattern Name: 12 Inch Size: King
I was a little surprised by the size of the mattress when I first received it. I thought it would be very compressed, but it was a package that is about the size of a small refrigerator. Be mindful that it is still quite bulky. It weighs about 80 pounds, so I was able to lift it by myself. But due to its size, I would recommend 2 people to carry. I had a hard time carrying it up to the second floor. I think it took less than a day for the mattress to decompress after unpacking, and the comfort and feel of the mattress itself were very good for the $430 price tag. I don't wake up with a sore back or neck from the bed. I'm very pleased with the quality. ... show more

  • 7 months pregnant and it's GOLD IN A BOX!
Style: Mattress Only Pattern Name: 10 Inch Size: Full
First off, I was skeptical. A mattress in a box? That sounds like a mushy disaster! But ohhh was I wrong. I got a full size for our daughters nursery because my husband's work schedule is whack, and we all know those middle of the night feedings can be brutal when you have to be at work at 430 am everyday, so I wanted a bed in her room when she woke up in the middle of the night, but still not sleep share, or have her in our room, and wake my husband up when he needs his sleep. So I went on the hunt, I didn't want to spend too much, but also didnt want to have something uncomfortable either. I did my research for well over a month, asking fb, and friends, and reading all the reviews, and after a friend said this brand was the best but still affordable, I went with it. We got it in and it was heavy! I'm 7 months pregnant so I couldn't get it inside the house barely, but I wobbled it in and waited on my husband to come unpack it and put it on the bedframe. It was super easy to unpackage and within an hour it went from folded in half, and rolled up to 7.5 inches. I was impressed! But did I mention I'm pregnant and live in the south and it's summer time? So yea, we have our house coldd and the bed was right by the vent. So 24 hours after unboxing it, it was only at 8.5 inches high. So I got nervous since We had paid for a 10 inch! But then i remembered reading or seeing that the colder the temp of the room is, the longer it Could take to get to full size. So I turned the vent off in the room and let Alabama summer weather do it's thing and within 2 hours I got the 9.75inches in height! Still not 10 but close enough. Now let's talk about how it feels. I bought this for a room that isn't being used yet really, but had to try it out before the return window would expire. Remember I was very skeptical about this "mattress in a box" thing. Well I got the best night of my sleep ever. My watch said I got 98%!! I'm normally in the high 80s max! Well the next night I went back to my master bedroom with the hubby. Slept awful for a few days, and my husband suggested I try sleeping in the nursery again and see if I sleep better. Yall. I'm not leaving until our king size "mattress in a box" comes in! I'm sold. I loved it so much I'm getting it in our bedroom too. It is so relaxing. The perfect firmness. Cooling. And helps all those pressure points that are sore when you are pregnant. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ... show more

  • Pretty good, especially for price
Style: Mattress Only Pattern Name: 10 Inch Size: Full
This is great for one person, a little tight for two. (It was our only option for the space.) The mattress itself seems to make me and my partner hot at night, so maybe get some cooling sheets with this. The memory foam part of the mattress allows for movement with a lot less disruption to the other person, which is great because I toss and turn. It’s pretty comfortable. It came rolled up tightly in a long cardboard box, and although it was heavy I was able to set it up myself. There’s no noise to the mattress since there aren’t any springs, etc. ... show more

  • Get 8 inches or above!
Style: Mattress Only Pattern Name: 6 Inch Size: Full
This is my second year using Zinus. I originally had the 8 inches but had to replace it due to molding from when I moved to my new apartment (bad choice on my part for leaving my bed on the floor for a month in a humid environment). The 8 inches was perfect for me; it was soft, but also not firm. The height was perfect on my low platform bed frame, and it gave me the best sleep I've had in awhile. The cooling foam also helps out for warm nights, but from my use on the 8 inch after a year, the sensation and feeling of the cooling foam wore off. I ordered a new mattress to replace my molded 8 inch bed, until I realized I ordered the wrong size. I accidentally ordered 6 inches instead. While it still provides the same comfort, the bed is unfortunately too small in size, and I can feel my bed frame from when I'm sitting up. I slept in it for the first time the previous night and found my body sore the next day. The new bed also did not inflate all the way to 6 inches and stopped at 5.5. Overall, I still give this brand a good rating. It's been my second year, and while the size does bother me a little, my sleep is still better than the previous mattresses I've used. This is a great alternative to an affordable high quality memory foam mattresses than most. ... show more

  • Most comfortable mattress I've ever owned
Style: Mattress Only Pattern Name: 8 Inch Size: Queen
I purchased the Zinus 8 Inch Gel-Infused Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress / Cooling Gel Foam / Pressure Relieving / CertiPUR-US Certified / Bed-in-a-Box, Queen size. It has three different layers of foam and is not a hybrid model. First is the 4.5" high-density base support foam, next is the 1.5" comfort foam, and on top is the 2" gel-infused memory foam. This is the first foam mattress I've ever owned, and I'll never go back to using the old box spring mattresses I've had all my life. The first night I slept on it with only a single sheet covering over the mattress and I was stunned by how nice and comfortable it feels compared to everything I've ever slept on before. The second day I installed the SafeRest Queen Size Premium Hypoallergenic Waterproof Mattress Protector, which is quite thin as it's a mattress protector and not a mattress "pad." I noticed no difference in how it feels in any way with this addition after using the bed all day and sleeping for 8 hours the second night. I believe it's so comfortable because of how your body sinks down into the foam slightly which supports your mass more uniformly than other surfaces can. Don't get me wrong about this, it's still a quite firm mattress so it's not like you sink way down into it. I wish there was some way I could better express just how much I love my new Zinus mattress!!! This is like sleeping on a cloud! I've read some negative reviews about people who've removed the cover that comes on the mattress to wash it or for whatever reason and then went nuts complaining about loose fiberglass fragments they encountered afterward. I believe the tiny amount of fiberglass material built into the cover is part of the fire-retardant material that makes up the cover. I also believe the warning the manufacturer gives about not removing the cover is their way of being over-cautious about the possibility of customers coming into contact with fiberglass fibers if they do so, and anyone who has removed the cover has NO ONE TO BLAME BUT THEMSELVES for any problems they encounter for failing to follow the manufacturers instructions. I haven't removed the cover on mine but I did open the zipper about 12" so that I could stick my bare forearm inside and rub it around to see for myself if there really was loose fiberglass fiber but I didn't notice any indication of this at all. My recommendation if you ever feel the need to remove the cover to wash it or whatever is remove the cover, deflate the air out of it and then CLOSE the zipper (without turning it inside out) and then arrange it around the center post of your washing machine. This will ensure the inside and outside of the cover won't come into contact with each other. Wash on a delicate setting, no bleach, then after removing it from the washing machine don't put it in the dryer, just lay it out on the floor to dry before putting it back on. The first picture was taken just 5 minutes after removing the mattress from the box and it's a full 7". 36 hours later it had expanded to the full 8" as can be seen in the second picture. After about 36 hours it was fully expanded and was very smooth and flat with square edges, and it looks almost perfect in every way. I have no idea how long this mattress might last, but after paying only $200 plus $18 in sales tax with free shipping it's easy and cheap enough to replace. I'm still using my old bottom box frame but since the distance between the support slats is a full 6" on my old base, I show in the third picture how I installed (with a few screws) some pieces of 1/4" plywood to the top of it for better support for the foam mattress. I simply bought and installed 3 pieces of 1/4" plywood at 24" x 48". I needed to cut the width of one piece for the foot end of the bed down 4" so that the plywood would break over the supports slat of the old box base. If you choose to follow my example you may need to modify this to some extent depending on the spacing of the support slats of your base. ... show more

  • Depends where you measure and how long you give it to recover
Style: Mattress Only Pattern Name: 12 Inch Size: King
This is my third zinus mattress but my first king. The other two were queens bought for my granddaughters and were bought in 2018 and 2022 they are actually holding up well however the girls are less then 112 pounds each. I have learned to let these mattresses expand for a good 24 hours at least before putting sheets on them or sleeping on them. As you can see by my pictures depending on where I measured after 12 hours I don’t get the full 12 inches. Full disclosure I’m temporarily living in my sons townhome until my new home is completed. Last year I bought from mattress firm a split king temper pedic adjustable with all the bells and whistles plus two firm temper pedic mattresses to the tune of 15k. My wife hates it It’s difficult to make the bed and I have to confess it’s as hard as a rock. Plus she never uses the adjustable features preferring her tv pillow. This mattress will do the job and if you don’t want to spend a ton of money and are ok with less then $500 every 5 or 10 years I’d recommend it. But understand if your over 200lbs and your wife is over 150 it will probably sag in the middle sometime in the future. But the best thing you can do to be happy with this purchase is stay off it for a minimum of 24 hours. ... show more

  • SERIOUS!! Fiberglass warning!
Style: Mattress Only Pattern Name: 10 Inch Size: King
The media could not be loaded. We bought this mattress Dec 2017, had no other problems except it was kinda uncomfortable from the beginning. The morning after the first night i slept on it, it had a permanent body impression. You also feel like you're sliding down a hill to the middle of bed when two people are sleeping on it. So yes, i have been putting up with this mattress for years. Then spring of 2022 i was so uncomfortable from the saggy mattress that i flipped it over and put my sheet on the backside. Since my body was hurting from the sagginess, the hard firm backside was amazing for a few days. So after i put the sheet on i started noticing shinny things on it. I didn't think anything of it. i thought it was elastic breaking down in my sheet..lol but there was no elastic in it. I completely brushed it off, didn't think anything of it. My kids start to complain of itching and break out with rashes and eczema. They had eczema as babies so i thought oh great its back but that's not normal for them to both have it after not having it for years. I have never had eczema but recently discovered it on my fingers and elbow. I've also started having eye irritations and eye twitching. Back to the story, after about a week i flip the mattress back over to the front. My youngest spills her milk on it so i took the cover off, you know because there's a zipper and thought it was washable. In the meantime i put a sheet over it and go to bed without the cover. From the time i took the cover off to wash it, it was already to late and had no idea. The cover was kind of a pain to get off so i wasn't in a hurry to put it back on. A few days go by and i have already folded lots of laundry on my bed and all put away. Then i decide to put the cover back on and later on we're watching a movie on my bed and i got a flashlight out to find something in the dark. I notice shinny things all over my kids blankets and clothes! Then noticed my bed is absolutely covered in it. Did some research and found out my bed came with fiberglass in it. Fiberglass in my closet, all over my clothes i hung up. Fiberglass on every single blanket in my house. Fiberglass on my couch and rugs. Fiber glass was on my curtains and the box spring. We threw away every piece of clothing and rugs in my house. Threw the mattress away and all of our curtains in our room. It was in the air a long time before we ever noticed it. I put winter clothes away in a bag in Feb and the clothes were covered. Fiberglass was coming out of it before i ever flipped the mattress or took the cover off. It was in every nook and cranny in my house. Our home we bulit is 5000 sq ft. So we bought a couple outfits before we threw everything away and made a safe space in the garage for clean clothes. We contacted lawyers already working on the case and we're told to take pics of everything. Its really hard to take a pic of the glass even with a flashlight. So the best thing to do is take a video while moving the light around. I've taken so many videos and just start to cry. It has been so hard cleaning it, i just wanted to demolish it and rebuild( it has taken a toll on my mental health). Also, we have been so careful not to contaminate our new clothes and blankets but they ended up still getting glass on them. We bought many tape rollers, you can get in pet section at Menards. We have a head lamp that has helped tremendously! Don't vacuum the floor right away just use the the roller because the vacuum will blow it in the air and that can be frustrating after you've already cleaned dresser 5 times before. A handheld cordless vacuum has helped a lot but wont pick up the tiny fibers. I sprayed water on a paper towel to get the tiny fibers. I had to get ladder to clean the fan and crown molding window trim. We bought a huge plastic cover from amazon for the box spring. So there's still glass on it but its concealed in the bag until we buy a new one. We took the dresser drawers out and vacuumed on the inside. I cleaned the dresser completely before i thought about doing that but I'm glad i did because the inside was completely covered with glass! I really am going to have to clean every sq of the house! It's been almost a month and I'm just now confident my room is finally clean. I'll find a few here and there but use the tape to pick it up. My kids rooms did have glass but not as bad as mine. All of their clothes in the drawers and hanging up had to be thrown away. We have thrown away thousands of dollars in material things, I know they can be replaced but somethings have memories and are special. I had to throw away hand made baby clothes my deceased Aunt made my daughter(those things cannot be replaced.) Ive also started having heart pains because of the stress from it all. From the time i wake up till i go to bed is so stressful. How long is it going to take before its completely out of our lives? I use to complain of folding laundry and now it really sucks because i have to do it with a headlamp and tape. Since i have found out about the glass, my eye has slowly started to improve with the twitching, probably bc I'm not laying my face in it anymore. My kids aren't itching anymore but i still do have eczema. Hope this helps someone and if i could go back, i would have thrown it away before ever opening it. ... show more

  • 5 YEARS LATER/Worth it (mostly)--Tricky warranty requirements
Style: Mattress Only Pattern Name: 10 Inch Size: King
Let's be honest. I bought this nearly 5 years ago (4 years 10 months) when I got my first apartment at 18, and I wasn't in a position to spend big $$$ on a mattress. I knew I wanted a King now that I had the room, but wasn't entirely sure what I was getting into with a "Mattress in a box". It's really hard to judge the stiffness of a bed when you aren't able to try them prior to purchase. Some companies-I won't name them, but it's also a color-are also available to try in some stores. Knowing that a foam-only mattress would likely be more firm than I would like, I had ordered a down topper at the same time just in case, and I am glad that I did. In my opinion, this mattress is VERY firm. However that is very subjective. Some people had thought it was the just the softest thing ever. But by adding a topper that isn't foam, you can definitely save money over a traditional mattress. After about 3 years, it seemed to get stiffer. Granted by this time my partner was also living with me, so there were two people in the bed. After getting an "egg crate" cover that I placed under the down topper. And of course it was great until now. After nearly 5 years the indentions are nearly impossible to deal with, despite our desperate attempts to stay on top of rotating it. They nearly force us to roll into the center of the bed. After reaching out to the manufacturer, there's a pretty common hang up with the warranty process. Yes, they will send you a new one. Yes, you need to take photos of the mattress showing how far it has compressed in height at the sides, and how deep the indentions are, like with a broomstick from edge to edge and measuring how far down the mattress is at the lowest point. Ours is close to 3 inches in some places. HOWEVER, you HAVE to find a place that will not only take your old mattress, but ALSO provide you with documentation that they have taken it from you. If you don't provide that proof of recycle/destroy you WILL be charged for the replacement. After spending almost 2 weeks trying to find a place that would do what I needed, I had no luck. The closest place I found was over 2 hours away, and without a truck of my own, I was NOT about to rent a uHaul to get it there. Instead we decided to suck it up until my current lease is over, and now with our new move-in date looming over us, we got one heck of a deal on my dream cloud-like Sapphire mattress. Granted at the nearly 3x sale price, and a regular price of 10x the cost of this, it isn't even fair to compare them. Ultimately, if you prefer a firm or medium-firm mattress, and you don't care about getting 10 years out of it. You will LOVE this mattress. It stayed nice and cool for a long time, while the effects seemed to fade, likely from the compression over time, I can honestly say that YES, it was worth what I paid 5 years ago (which was a decent chunk less than they currently are) and in the grand scheme of things, I don't regret. ... show more

Style: Mattress Only Pattern Name: 10 Inch Size: Queen
I purchased this mattress to replace a 12 year old memory foam mattress that was in my guest room. I purchased the 10" queen and the height is perfect for my needs. I slept on it one night just to check it out and found that it was firm yet comfortable. I used the Amazon service to set it up and remove the old mattress. There was NO odor and it took the full 24 hours to reach its 10" height. For the money you cannot go wrong. I think if it is for a single person it will last a good 8-10 years hard to say how well it will hold up for a couple. I have a vacation rental in another state and plan on buying one for that house. ... show more

I never write reviews, but for this one I am! This mattress is the best mattress I have slept on in a minute!!! This one doesn’t even begin to compare to the one I got from mattress firm 3 years ago! Waste of money. Hurt neck, back, etc. after sleeping on this new one for a couple weeks I feel soooo well rested when I wake up. I mean if the pregnant ladies review doesn’t get you, idk what will. You won’t regret this purchase! I also have a chronic neck pain… so yea! Amazing buy! ... show more

Love love love this mattress. So easy to open unwrap and situate on the bed frame. So comfortable and such a good night’s sleep. Worth the time and research on it. I did get it on sale but it is a great value for the purchase!! Will buy again when it’s time to replace this one! So far it’s so durable I think that’s going to be quite a long while:) Very pleased with this purchase! Highly recommend. ... show more
