I ordered the 40L for a hiking trip to Havasupai, AZ.. I knew we would be hiking to a few of the waterfalls we had visited in the past. I remembered that the backpack we used in the past were getting muddy and wet whenever we placed the packs down. They especially were getting wet when we neared the waterfalls. The spray from the waterfall were intense that even our clothing was getting drenched. So this time around I wanted something that was easy to clean and that was waterproof. Also because we had to wade through the creek in some parts I wanted to make sure if I took a tumble into the water my things would stay dry. That never happened so I can’t vouch for the performance of floating and leakage. But, I was absolutely pleased with how comfortable it was and being waterproof! I also used the waterproof phone case which kept the phone dry. There were a couple of times that the phone case became steamy inside. I intended to carry my hiking boots in the bag which would’ve easily fit, but I didn’t need them. Instead I packed 2 16oz., a change of clothes, light lunch for 3, a can of sunscreen and bug repellent with plenty of room for more items. I did hike 3 miles with this and my back was wet so keep that in mind. I would recommend this product and this size. I loved the vibrant red! ... show more

I have 4 sizes for kayaking and camping. They are Very well constructed. Be sure to read the instructions for folding them down so that they’re water tight and will float should you need it. It just makes so much sense to start your adventure by packing gear into these Earth Bags. Sudden weather changes become a non issue. The included water proof cell phone holder works really well. I put a piece of Bounty Towel inside the case, submerged it for 30 minutes by filling the kitchen sink with water and placing a plate on top (otherwise the case will float to the surface) the towel was perfectly dry when removed. I recently purchased this bag... While out on a lake my kayak over turned and the contends were in the water. For me it was a life threatening situation. The anchor rope was wrapped around my arm and was pulling me down. I was rescued by other kayakers(God bless them) taken to shore. Paramedics took me to the ER. I fine now but shaken up. This performed so well I felt it deserved it. I took the dry bags and phone cases kayaking. Dry bag worked perfectly and was a great size. The phone case was particularly impressive. I flipped my kayak with the phone case tied to my chair (not my best idea, I know) but the case string stayed securely fixed to the kayak and my phone.     • Not big enough for storing comforters

This product looks to be excellent quality and waterproof. However, I needed them to store a sleeping bag and comforter safely. The 55L is not big enough. A 100L is better suited. I would love to use these bags if I was a camper or boater.

Previously purchased another brand that was cheaper and after finding out that was a waste of my money ordered this did a trial but dry paper towels in it and then took it in the shower as well as dunk it in a sink old water and everything came out perfectly dry very happy with it

Me and my buddies go white water-ish kayaking and I bought this to carry our keys,phones, vapes and drinks and all. Not a single drip of water all through it and no tears or anything even after it hitting a few rocks. Definitely recommend. It is also WAY bigger than I expected!

This is my 2nd purchase from Earthpak. I originally purchase a 70L bag for a sailing trip. Great quality dry bag. Have a shorter sailing trip coming up so I added a smaller bag. These bags are extremely well made.
