Top Amazon Reviews

  • A review of two similar collars.
Size: Large Color: Blue/Grey
I have not reviewed anything I’ve purchased the day I received it before, and this is a review of two collars of which I wasn’t sure would be different based on the sales photos. They are the Dynmeow (grey) in large for $11.99 USD and the Black Rhino (blue), also in large for $19.95 USD. Based on looks of the product photos, what was I going to be getting with the Black Rhino for an $8 difference (or nearly twice the price)? With the Dynmeow, which is stated to be made in China (Americans don’t work cheap, get over it.) has a more stiff collar, the adjustment holes are more aligned (see photos) but look to be coming undone straight out of the package. The metal buckle is a lighter/thinner gauge metal and not as rounded/smooth and the padded neoprene is very thin compared to the Black Rhino. The Dynmeow has much wider and visible reflective stitching but the stitching in general looks to be better on the Black Rhino. Having thicker neoprene and a less rigid collar, I decided to keep the more expensive Back Rhino. Although I’m paralyzed and only have one arm, putting it on him and buckling it up was quite simple (34 years practice). Plus he minds well. I only put this because in reading the reviews, some complain about the buckle being difficult if you take the collar off and on often (who does that?). I was concerned about the buckle rotating under his neck, defeating the neoprene padding design. While it looks tight and in its new state, I can easily slide four fingers under the collar and the buckle stays on the back of his neck which is also where the D-ring is for a leash. Without the use of the clip I have for his tags, the design of the plastic tag holder is impossible (for me) to use with just a ring. I think it would stretch the ring a lot as well due to the width of the plastic tag holder. It’s positioned more towards his left side and the plastic part is held on by a pretty thin loop of material. I’m hoping it doesn’t rip off. Probably the only poor design element of the collar. I am also curious to see how the neoprene holds up during any scratching. Looks easy to tear. His Blueberry branded collar (also in the photos if Amazon allows the amount of photos I took) is a bit stiff too, and has been replaced once due to a crack in the plastic clasp. So the metal buckle gives me some added comfort for the rare moments he decides to pull a bit and the neoprene should help where the plastic rubs him a bit raw. As I said, I think both collars are probably made in China but the Black Rhino does boast that it’s been designed in the USA (for those feeling the need to be patriotic <rolls eyes>). I tried to give good photo comparisons and hope I can upload them all. While I do not know how the neoprene will hold up, I do feel that the Black Rhino is worth the extra $8 over the Dynmeow collar. Plus there’s only 66 reviews for the Dynmeow and 16K plus for the Black Rhino, for whatever that’s worth. I hope this helps someone. ... show more

  • Really premium dog collar
Bought 3 of these for each of my 3 dogs. They were all do for a collar upgrade after wearing out their previous collars over the course of the past few years. Did a bunch of research and landed on these collars and one other company. Ordered both collars to compare. I elected to keep the Black Rhino collars as I thought they were a more premium collar, despite the fact that they are significantly more expensive than most other collars of this type. Collars seem durable and well made. Plenty of padding so the dogs should be comfortable, but they tend to be on the thicker side of other collars I’ve used. They fit my two Labradoodles great. Both are around 55 pounds and wear a medium with plenty of adjustment room. My Frenchie, however, also needed a medium due to his girthy neck size. Unfortunately, it’s a bit thick on him since I think the medium size collar is generally intended to be on a larger dog. It’s not too big where he can’t wear it, but I preferred the width of the small, it was just too short for him. My only real complaint is how large the branding is. While I appreciate a companies branding on their product, not only is the logo large on these collars, it’s typically a contrasting color that really makes it stand out. I don’t know…I just prefer something more minimal but that’s really a minor complaint. Anyway, great collars and would recommend. ... show more

  • Strongly recommend
Size: Medium Color: Blue/Grey
This collar is just great! Belt-like holes help you to make the best adjustment and fit on your dog’s neck. This collar is soft and yet strong with the special loop for a name tag. I ordered a silicone one since i had a very good experience with 2-sided silicone tags before. Overall, both of us ( my dog and I) are so happy. He looks so charming. ... show more

  • Nice quality collars
Size: Large Color: Purple/Bl
These collars seem to be well made and comfortable for my German Shepherds. I don't know how well they will hold up to 100lb dogs pulling hard on them as my dogs don't get tethered up but I believe they should be fine. Time will tell how well they hold up overall but at this price, it won't be a bad thing to replace them every 2-3 years if needed. ... show more

  • Nice sturdy collar
Size: Medium Color: Burgundy/Bl
I got this for our almost 9 month old silver lab pup. She's about 60lbs. We got the medium. She had out grown her smaller snap collar. She's getting pretty strong so we decided on this buckle collar. It looks so sturdy, strong and is sharp looking on her! Love it!

  • Love this collar!
Size: Medium Color: Sport Blue/Bl
Really love this collar! Bought one for my 35lb Heeler mix who needed a new collar and ended up buying a second one a few days later for my 50lb Bully mix because we liked it so much. Medium size fit both of them well. Seems to be very comfortable for them and feels sturdy. Will be buying more products from this company. ... show more

  • Large Breed Puppy hasn't ripped it
Size: Large Color: Aqua/Grey
After 6 months of daily use, this collar is still in one piece, for the most part. We care for a large breed, high energy pup who could break through collars by tugging while on a leash or by chewing. This collar has stood the test of time better than previous ones. Except the little plastic thing that the pet tags are supposed to adhere to. That feel off ages ago. ... show more
