  • Works perfect - couldn't be happier
Size: 1500W Inverter
I needed a Pure Sine Wave inverter for my RV and this VertaMax was exactly what I was looking for. I immediately threw it on my 1980 circa Oscope and the waveform was incredible. It's large, but that's to be expected in the 1500 Watt range. It has all of the bells and whistles needed and provides all the inverted power my 27' Class A motor home needs. I only have one small issue, that may not be a problem for you - When using the Remote switch it deactivates the main power on/off button on the face of the inverter. For me, having the remote switch inside the coach, means I have to go inside to power the device on or off, whereas I'd like to be able to turn it on or off from the storage compartment where I keep it near the batteries. Not the end of the world as I can simple unplug the Remote cable at the device - but need to remember to plug it back in or I'll loose remote control from inside the RV. Still a great inverter for the money! ... show more

  • dissapointed, a little.
Size: 1500W Inverter
Provides clean power and runs finicky electronics well. The remote switch is a nice almost mandatory feature now that I have gotten used to it. This save on battery life because it is easier to turn off when not using it. The red switch "circuit breakers" I think are just switches. The red switches will let me draw enough power to blow fuses in the inverter without tripping the "breaker" if that is what it is supposed to be. The owners manual and the ad above claim they are circuit breakers but they sure don't behave that way My 25 yr old 800 W MSW Coleman is superior in overload protection. If I accidentally overload the Coleman I only have to turn it off and back on again to reset it. If I accidentally overload the Windy nation then I have to get it out of its installed location (huge PITA)and take the case apart (another pita) and replace fuses. I wish the circuit breaker would just trip and protect the thing that way. Maybe my suspicions that it is not a circuit breaker are correct. Any input from Windy Nation on this? If it is not a circuit breaker please stop advertising it that way. If it is a circuit breaker what do I have to do to make it protect? ... show more

  • Great 1.5KW RV inverter
Size: 1500W Inverter
Installed in my trailer to run the microwave and toaster. Doubled up on 12V cables (4AWG comes with unit) to lessen the voltage drop. I shouldn't have believed the ratings on the micro and toaster, each pulled just over 1.5KW, but the inverter works great (image 2 is during microwave use, almost identical for toaster!) Inverter fans run at turn on and then run with loads >500W. The inverter is mounted under my bed (enclosed area) and the remote on/off switch is definitely a plus. ... show more

  • Money Well Spent
Size: 1500W Inverter
We looked and looked, then looked some more at inverters. I knew I wanted a Pure Sine do to electronics. Actually, the only electronic item we fried with an old inverter was a digital heated mattress pad. But, the mattress pad is a must for cold weather tramping in the mountains. My wife of course wanted to be able to run a hair dryer on occasion. We boondock 90% of the time so having a few "creature comforts" is necessary. The digital read out on the inverter is pretty spot on. The only time we hear the fan run is on startup, other than that it is quiet. We are in a truck camper so the install was relatively easy. If you are thinking about an inverter you can't go wrong with the VertaMax. Just make sure you order long enough cables. ... show more

  • Used very little, 1350 Watts killed it
Size: 1500W Inverter
I've had this thing for about 5 years, of that it has about ten total hours of on time. My wife was saying that she was trying to use our instant pot on it which wasn't a problem in the past but it shut off and started beeping. Curious I took the system apart brought it home and put a kill-a-watt meter on it. I put a heat gun on to load test it. 1350 watts. After about 5 minutes it shut off and beeps 4 times. The screen indicates low battery voltage @ 10.00VDC. But my Fluke meter shows 13.2VDC at the battery terminals. I left it to cool down for a day thinking maybe it was just hot. Next day same results. Good thing I wasn't relying on this thing for my only source of power and have a generator on hand. Definitely would NOT recommend buying this unit!!! ... show more

  • I liked my first 3000 W, so I bought a 1500 W also
Size: 1500W Inverter
I use a 3000 W in conduction with my solar power on my houseboat for general AC… I purchased this 1500 W for continuous use for my refrigerator on the houseboat also! Well pleased so far.

  • super quiet generator
Size: 1500W Inverter
I bought this inverter for one very important reason and one reason only, to make a cup of coffee with my 800 watt Keurig clone in my camper van at 6am, 2 hours before most federal campgrounds allow generators. Mission accomplished. With just one 12v deep cycle marine battery, I can now silently make coffee, watch TV and start up my mini fridge without subjecting myself to the wrath of nearby tent campers, some of whom obviously disdain even the sight of a tiny, super quiet generator. Ahhh.... Peace in the valley again. Come by and get a cup if you like! ... show more

  • Less Thank 2 Years Old and needs work.
Size: 1500W Inverter
After less than two years of sporadic use, the remote on/off switch stopped working. Kinda disappointing. I have ordered a new one from VertaMax that is identical to the broken one. Everything else about this unit is..was great! Hopefully this will be the fix that is needed to remotely control this inverter since it is mounted in the basement storage of our rv, which is very inconvenient to access to turn on and off. ... show more
