  • BEST EDC knife I have ever owned
I've been using and collecting knives for over 50 years. I just wanted to pass on that this is a truly awesome knife. Very high quality design and build for every day carry use. Light, thin, unobtrusive. Great S30v steel, scalpel sharp, holds an edge very well. Strong for its size and weight, about as small and light as you can go and still remain comfortable in the hand in frequent, heavy use. The axis lock is my favorite such design. Very easy and fast one-handed open and close. Note that it will probably come from the factory with a slightly stiff and gritty feel to the pivot on opening and closing. Feels like a slight burr on the pivoting contact points. I believe the knife is intended to stay tight, no play, but still open/close easily. At least that's the case with mine. You can wear it in very quickly, or carefully unscrew the tiny torx screw at the pivot a TINY degree or two so that it pivots more freely. Tweak slightly to your taste. Then tighten it up as it wears in. Tiny adjustments to your liking. It should flip open effortlessly with the thumb stud and gravity close by opening the axis lock. Too loose and the blade will rebound on closing. Make sure your fingers are clear when you close, as this knife arrives scary sharp. When set correctly and broken in it will also easily flip open with the axis lock if you prefer, with a little careful practice. Deep pocket clip keeps it handy but almost completely out of sight, and keeps it out of the bottom of your pocket with keys and stuff. I strongly recommend you give this knife a try. I'm very glad I did. My own personal search for the perfect EDC knife is over. ... show more

  • Excellent EDC
Thought I'd see what all the hype is about. I watched this for a while and pulled the trigger when it dropped to $106. It's a great knife. This was my first with S30V and my first AXIS lock. Both are amazing. It comes razor sharp and holds an edge. I've carved a lot of cardboard and while it doesn't shave my arm hair very well anymore, it can very easily push cut paper. The AXIS lock is amazing. It's very strong and super convenient for one hand use. It takes a little practice, but then it's really easy. I loosened the pivot 10-20 degrees to get that nice fall closed action and love it even more now. The whole knife is super lightweight, especially for a 3.25" knife. The handle scales are a nice balance of slimness and ergonomics. It's not the most comfortable knife I have but it's not bad at all. It disappears in the pocket. Overall I'd definitely recommend it. The mini Bugout came out a few months after I bought this, which is a bummer. I'm not sure which I would have chosen otherwise. ... show more

  • A good knife
I purchased this knife for my son for Christmas. He loved it. He's in the USAF. He want a light edc that stood out from other knives. This fit the bill perfectly for him. It's very light weight but sturdy. It sits low in the pocket but is easy to grab. This is a manual opening knife. The Bugout opens smoothly and easily. You'll feel very confident with it in your hands I really like Benchmade's blade lock mechanism. You can close the knife with one handle and not put any of your fingers in the collapsing blades way. It arrived very sharp, so be careful when hacking it. I highly recommend this knife. ... show more

  • Impressive
5 stars for the knife 6 for DLT Trading. Great seller! Answered my pre-purchase questions immediately and helpfully. Then got my knife to me five days before promise. Awesome! Now for the knife: this is my second Benchmade and new favorite knife. Just received today so these are my first impressions. I love s30v steel anyway and this is beautifully ground , perfectly centered and scary sharp. Blue anodizing is excellent. Weight is amazing, less than my mini griptilian! Made in ‘Murica! 🇺🇸 Will update after having some time to run it through its paces a bit, but for now I am very pleased. Highly recommend and quick-they seem to be going fast. Thanks for reading Update:10/30/17 Ok; I’m an idiot. That’s not anodizing. Glass filled “grivory” type nylon. Oops 😬! Sorry for the misinformation. My bad. Update:11/24/17 This puppy slices through corrugated, string, plastic straps and even the palm of my hand like butter. Resistance has been futile from every task I put it to. Will make Feather sticks like a machine. Pierces meat like a laser. Absolutely flawless thus far. I am in love! Just be careful. That’s six stitches talking ! ... show more

  • Near Perfect EDC
This is my Favorite Knife! I was really unsure about it at first. The handle did feel a bit cheap. There wasn’t much about it at first glance that justified the price. I liked heavier knives, and like others I usually think of weight when I think quality. But, The more I carried this knife, the more I have grown to appreciate it. It fits in the pocket perfectly. You totally forget its there. The standard blue color is sexy. The blade came sharp. Edge retention is too notch. The action allows for easy flicking or smooth one hand opening. It was a bit tight at first but a quick adjustment solved that. It fits in the hand well, feels comfortable. Absolutely love it. Now I totally have a harder time appreciating my griptillian and other heavier knives. This is the one. Dont hesitate. ... show more

  • Meh, its Benchmade
I know lots of people like to drool over Benchmade quality. Honestly, I've never quite gotten it. Sure they are great quality and work well for pocket decoration. But for an EDC/working knife, give me something easier to open, heavier duty, and priced at a point I'm not going to cry if I lose or damage it. My big issue with this knife is just that I'm over the thumb studs for opening. I greatly prefer the spine stud flippers. Nothing at all wrong with this knife if you like Benchmade -- I'm just not clear why. At this price point, there's more interesting stuff out there. Or for an EDC, I can buy 3 of a workhorse brand and use the heck out of them. ... show more
