When I first pulled it out of the box I put in mid grade gas into it, didn't run very well, always use premium gas. I also live above 7000 ft so that might also play into the fuel issue. I emailed Firman and they sent a high altitude kit free of charge. I have yet to install it as I received it after the season. I will install it when I have time and test it out again. Worked great at 8200 Ft pulling 50 Amps in my RV. ... show more

    • Difficult to adjust for altitude

Living at 8300 ft posed a problem for this generator. Firman affirmed that it needed an adjustment to run at our altitude and set us a high altitude fuel jet. My husband was unable to remove the original jet. We ended up paying a small engine repair location to remove and then install the new jet. This will pose a real problem when we decided to pull our trailer to sea level. Not being able to adjust for altitude on the go might cause us to return this generator despite thinking we had chosen the perfect one for our neeeds. ... show more

Does everything I need. Runs the 30amp AC in my camper. I really like how it comes with the RV plug. No adapter needed. I was concerned with the size of the fuel tank but it ran for a surprisingly long time on a tank of gas.

Starts easy. Runs good. Takes way longer to 'boot' up than the Honda does. Almost a full minute to get power after start up. I can't use eco mode when powering my camper. On eco mode it will never recover when the a.c. kicks on, goes into over load. Unlike the Honda that will auto reset after over load this on has to be shut down amd restarted after am overload. Think next time I'll check out the Wen. ... show more
