  • Mostly comfortable but with some defects
Color: Black/Red Style: Race
I tried this chair out at a local furniture store. Amazon had it a lot cheaper so I decided to buy online. It amazed how uncomfortable a lot of chairs are and this one took top prize for comfort. The chair itself appears to be high quality. It's comfortable and I like the side supports. It reminds me of a sports car I used to own. For reference, I'm 5'10 and mid 160's for weight. If you're 200+, you should try before you buy, if possible, to see how comfortable it is for you. It looks nice and feels like it should last. My last chair died of chair cancer after about 4 years and had the "leather" peel off all over. It started slow and then it appears the entire chair decided to peel off at the same time. This doesn't appears like it will happen but it will take years to see if that's true. Now the downsides: 1. The casters are really nice. They looks like those soft indoor rollerblade wheels. The problem is that it isn't that great moving on carpet. Not a huge issue since the chair doesn't really need to move except when I'm cleaning but it feels like the wheels aren't really moving and I'm just dragging the chair. 2. My right arm rest and about 10 degrees off. It annoys me. The left side is fine but the right side is off and there's no way to fix it from pointing inwards since it's where the drilled the holes underneath. I don't notice it when I use it but it's just annoying to look at. 3. The armrests are incredibility uncomfortable. There appears to be some padding but it's very thin and hard as a rock. I just took this for granted on other chairs. I bought some armrest covers here on Amazon and it makes it way better. No idea such a thing existed but this chair gives them a market. I feel like I shouldn't have to buy this though. This is a first I ever had to do this for a chair. So-so things The lumbar support rest great the first day but I took it off after that. It was pretty annoying. I'm sure I may use it at some point and I'm glad it's there but it just wasn't comfortable for me to leave on all the time. This may be a personal preference thing but my S.O. was also not a fan. Would I buy it again? Yes, I think so. I would like them to address the armrest issues though. I feel like the 3/5 is a reasonable review. I like the chair but it has some room for improvement, more so due to the price bracket of this chain being over the cheap junk that's sold. Edit: 10/21/2020 I'm going to bump this up another star. This chair has been pretty good this past year. It is build very solid and I recently had a back injury and while I found the lumbar cushions annoying at first (and this removed them), they helped a lot while I was in recovery mode and having to work from home. I'd like to give it 5 stars but the off centered arm rests and needing to buy arm covers still knocks it down a star. ... show more

  • 6'1" 230# - And it fits.
Color: Black/Black Style: Road Warrior
We'll call this a four-year update. The good: Nothing major has broken and the padding is still firm. The piston and reclining mech are still in good shape. The armrests have softened a tad - but not so much they're mushy but just enough so the edges don't bite quite so hard into the forearms. The bad: The casters *almost* made it to the four-year mark before losing their greasy balls on this 70's green pile carpet. Installed a random set scavenged from an old office chair. The vinyl at the front corners of the seat is peeling. Hey Corsair, how about a new seat cover? Let me guess. No part number. Update: 14 months in. The seat frame has broken where the reclining mechanism mounts. Corsair will replace the chair under warranty provide return the ENTIRE chair and pay $75-100 return shipping. They are unwilling to replace just the seat because "they don't have a part number for the piece". Forget that. It appears I'll weld up the frame. A few weeks later. Corsair decided to ship another chair under warranty. They asked the old one to be recycled. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've had this chair for eight months. It replaced a 15-year-old generic high back office chair. This chair is used for about 10 hours a day. This chair has taken inspiration from racing seats. Racing seats aren't wide puffy pillows. They are firm. They hold you in place. They are not adjustable. This chair comes close, but it is not a race seat, which is a good thing. Almost everything on this chair is adjustable, sans lumbar. It is heavy-duty. I'm not a small guy - I'm not overly soft and my lats are wider than my waist so it is snug across my back, but it is NOT uncomfortable. The armrests are a little on the hard side - and wobbly, but so were the ones on my $1200 Herman Miller Aeron. The armrest shape could be more organic. The crowned rubber wheels on the bearing swivel casters enable the chair to effortlessly glide on smooth floors but tend to dig in on pile carpet. It is a heavy chair and maneuvering on pile carpet can be a chore. An observation, people losing bearings seem to drive their chairs on carpet. The chair's wheels lost a few caster bearings. Corsair replaced all five casters two days after notification. The new casters have a thicker top-bearing race. After four months of running this chair on a heavy carpet, no loose bearings! Some are pulling the kid card and claim the bearings are a "small children and pets" choke/safety hazard. This is uber extreme and must be coming from those who (no medical need) crush their aspirin before taking it. These bearings are maybe 5/32". The pic is of wheel and caster bearings next to cat kibble and the obvious US penny. I can tell you, as a kid I swallowed a 1/4 ball bearing. Easy down, easy out. ... show more

  • Way better than the cheaper chairs
Color: Black/Black Style: Race
I bought this chair for work ( I'm in I.T. and spend hours at a time sitting in front of a computer.) It's of much nicer quality vs.the cheaper no-name gaming chairs that you find on Amazon. There are no creaking or squeaking. It was a breeze to put together, the rollerblade wheel/casters make moving the chair around a breeze. Tons of adjustments as well. I'll 5'11" and about 195 pounds, the chair fits me fine, but it you're significantly larger the side bolstering might be uncomfortable for you. It came down to this chair or the DX Racer, I went with the Corsair because I've had very good experiences with their customer service in the past, that's not to say that he DX Racer isn't a fine product thought. ... show more
