I used an assault bike for 2 years and owned an echo bike for 3. I like chain air bikes better for endurance and they also do hiit well. I don’t think the echo bike is well suited for long endurance for me so I sold mine. This thing seems to have the exact same drivetrain as the assault bike classic. It has more trim covers to protect it. The monitor seems to work fine; I got much better contrast on it once I put a fresh set of batteries in it. The calorie count is quite stingy. Kind of like the echo. The arm handles are nice and tight. The pedals are a little narrow and seem to be threaded non standard so I couldn’t put mtb pedals on it. Resistance feels exactly the same as the assault bike. The seat is perfect. It’s a good buy at $400. There’s plenty of other options at $670. One week use update: the bike is awesome, it got smoother as the miles went on. The pedal slips off my shoes and so I put a 9/16 mtb pedal on and it’s much better. Helped the crank Q factor narrow a little bit too which was good. ... show more

After many days and evenings of reading about and comparing stationary bikes online and going to look for them in local stores, I “bit the bullet” and chose this one. I bought it from amazon.com at a decent price of $117 with no shipping charges. Like most bikes, it does have a little seat that is hard and not comfortable. My street bike came with one, too, so I bought a new one. So, I determined to accept that and plan on buying the recommended gel seat that many commenters needed. I like that it is rather light, and slim and makes my home office an “exercise room” with room to walk around it still. Many people commented that it was not hard to put together since it comes in a box unassembled. Some complained that there was a small part or more that was missing and they had to call customer service to get it sent to them, or they compensated by making something themselves or buying from a store. Fortunately, my husband and I were prepared for that but pulled out all the contents of the box and found that nothing was missing. The simple tools the manufacturer included in the package were sufficient to complete the job within about a half an hour. The instructions are uncomplicated to understand. Assembled, it looks sleek, and simple and lightweight. They put 2 little wheels in the front foundation bar so that it can be pushed easily wherever you want it to be. It has to be lifted up from the back a little to move it. With thought, the manufacturer could put 2 little wheels in the back foundation bar so that they would not have to lift to push but they both would stay on the floor and can be rolled together. I don’t find that this is a problem. My concern was ease of operation, and quiet operation. So far, from the start, it is that. But I know that noises can develop eventually with moving parts so I have my WD40 ready to help. It comes with a meter to track your actions; that wasn’t important to me as all I want is a machine to work me out during my workout. I am 5’2” with short legs and arms and I am glad to report that the adjustable seat, which moved up and down, and forward and backward to adjust for a variety of sizes, has accommodated me just fine. When I finally ordered and put on the gel seat, in two different sizes, I found that the seat still is not comfortable. It is not the cushion seat, it is the little hard bike seat that is. The gel seat fit fine but it makes me slide forward with no stopper. So it is the bike that needs improvement. The movable handlebars are fine for me, as the adjustments of the seat allows for long or short arms to reach. The fact that it is attached to the pedals and always move when the feet move doesn’t bother me because if you don’t want to hold on to them, you can let your hands hang to your side and the handlebars will just keep moving but not in your way at all; they will not hit your head as you would be sitting up erect with your hands at your sides. Time will tell how sturdy and reliable this piece of equipment will be, but if it lasts in good shape for at least a year and I use it as regularly as I intend to, it will be worth my investment. I have seen this bike before and was able to try it out some years ago and I’ve wanted one ever cents but unfortunately, when I decided I could afford to get my own I had medical issues that I didn’t consider until after I ordered it and then I realized I would not be able to use it safely so I canceled my order before it was delivered But this bike is truly awesome for anyone who doesn’t have medical issues they can get on and off this bike safely ... show more

    • Great Workout especially compared to my Schwinn Airdyne 2

I also own a Schwinn Airdyne 2 and this workout is MORE difficult. The Small front fan wheel on the Schwinn doesn't give as much resistance as the larger wheel on this (the Sunny Tornado). On the Schwinn Airdyne with a 32 minute workout I get 11 miles with an average of 69 to 70 RPM. On the Sunny Tornado, with a 32 minute workout I average 9.5 to 9.9 miles with 51 RPM. So the big fan makes this a tougher workout. Very sturdy bike. I am 6'3", 195 lbs and this bike doesn't wobble or show any signs of difficulty. With the Schwinn I have replaced the arm once now in the 2.5 years I've owned it. This purchase was originally for my wife and she quickly decided she liked the smaller Schwinn. The Schwinn is better for her as she is 5'5". Very happy with my purchase. ... show more

Very easy to put together, and the bike gives a way better workout then my recumbent. I took off 2 stars for different reasons. First, the plastic on the bike that protects the chain came cracked and broken in some spots. Too much of a hassle to repackage and send bike back, and it didn't mess with the functionality of the bike so I overlooked that. Second, the seat is very uncomfortable. I mean very very uncomfortable. I bought a padded seat with it because I did read the reviews, but even with that it still is uncomfortable. That being said, for the price and the quality of a workout this bike gives you, it is money well spent. Definitely oil the chain before use, and maybe once a month or every 2 months so nothing sticks. ... show more
