  • Just get it
Size: 4.3" Monitor w/ Cam for Rear Bracket Style: Backup System
I'm not sure why I waited so long to buy this its worth the money. My camper was pre-wired for this so the installation was done in a snap. Setup the monitor in my truck and had no problems connecting it to the camera. I didn't read the directions but just know that even if you plug in the camera in your truck it will not show a picture on the monitor until you actually on your headlight in your vehicle. The image is good it can be a little jerky at times but not to bad where you tell what's behind you. Definitely makes backing up a camp a lot easier and safer. ... show more

  • A Must-Have Accessory While Towing a Trailer.
Size: 4.3" Monitor w/ Cam for Rear Bracket Style: Backup System
Bought this because my travel trailer was pre-wired for the Furrion backup cameras and included a sharkfin mount pre-installed. I've always had trouble seeing where I am backing up but this cures this problem. The package arrived and I went about installing the camera. First, I checked the monitor/camera pairing with the monitor power cable (it included a pigtail for the camera power cord). Paired perfectly! Picture was crystal clear. Next, I removed the cover plate to the pre-installed shark-fin mount on the back wall of the trailer, plugged the camera wire into the pre-wired power jack dongle, and ...... nothing. No power. Checked voltage and there was power there, but the camera didn't function. Hmmm! So I pulled the shark-fin mount and discovered the power dongle had been wired in reverse (hot [red wire] to ground [white wire]; ground [black wire] to hot [green wire]). On RVs, the trailer's white wire is the ground and the green wire is the power for the running lights. Rewired the dongle so it was correct, powered on the running lights and checked the camera. Success! Camera worked just fine! Remounted everything, installed the camera and everything was fine. The camera also has a microphone and the monitor a speaker so if someone is guiding you while backing into a slot, you can hear their instructions clearly. A very nice touch, indeed! While towing, I used it as a rear-view "mirror" that worked day and night (the camera also has night vision and IR lights for illumination). Nice! The running lights must be on for the camera to function. You can turn your headlights on to activate the trailer's running lights. This is essential with the GM automatic headlight systems. But, if you have factory-installed fog lamps, turn them on and your trailer running lights will turn on as well. The camera works just fine. If you use the camera to assist with passing or lane changes remember thing are closer than they appear, so be sure to check your mirrors as well to check the clearance of the back of the trailer with the passed vehicle. The monitor and mirrors compliment each other for clearance issues. All in all, an excellent and very useful accessory for any trailer owner. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Easy to Install, works well. NOTE: Connect the Camera to the screen to sync before installing!
Size: 4.3" Monitor w/ Cam for Rear Bracket Style: Backup System
Camera was simple to install. I did not read the directions to connect the screen to the camera first. I installed the camera and the screen - When I tried to sync the camera to the screen (while in a metal shop) It would not connect. I then... read directions to plug the camera into the screen and sync before installing. I removed the camera and sync'd it then reinstalled the camera. It worked very well to watch what we were towing behind. The sound is also very good -so if you were using it in an rv for security it would work fine. Happy with the investment! ... show more

  • Installation on my Rockport Ultra Lite trailer was a breeze
Size: 4.3" Monitor w/ Cam for Rear Bracket Style: Backup System
My trailer is a 2021 Rockwood Ultra Lite by Forrest River. When I bought this trailer (last year 2020) the salesman told me that it came ready to install the rear-facing camera. I didn't think I needed it at that time, so I put it off. Now, since driving the trailer and backing into parking spaces and camp sites, I came to see the multiple advantages of having a camera to show what is going on behind the trailer. I'm not a professional so I have to rely on spotters when backing to keep me out of trouble. I am looking forward to our first trip with the camera. I intend to update this review after that experience. Installation was a breeze. The only issue is that the mounting location is about 11 feet off the ground. I would like to be able to hold onto the ladder with one hand while working with the other. During the process of connecting the cable and getting the first screw started both hands are required. I only dropped one screw before getting the first screw loosely secured. Forrest River made the difference. Everything I needed on the trailer was exactly as promised. After hooking up the camera and securing it with the four screws, I brought the truck up close enough to the hitch to plug in the wiring cable. After only a few seconds, the display lit up to show the view from the camera POV. The only thing left up in the air is how much down angle the camera needs to show traffic behind and how close the back of the trailer is to obstructions and hazards. I left a little space uncovered to show a better view for driving. Since the power to the camera is drawn from the clearance lights, the camera will be on continuously while driving. I was not sure which display size would be best, so I got the 4.3". After all, that is nearly twice the size of my Ford F150 back up camera. The backup camera display is in the rearview mirror, so it is only about 2" x 2". ... show more

  • Makes driving and backing up easier
Size: 4.3" Monitor w/ Cam for Rear Bracket Style: Backup System
I use this on a 30 ft travel trailer. This camera and monitor work very well. The monitor serves as a rear view mirror when traveling and it also makes backing up so much easier even in very tight spots. Only negative thing I have to say is it does not work well during night time operations. But most RVers don’t travel at night from what I have noticed. Worth the purchase. ... show more
