I purchased the 26A model. It worked great for seven months and then it started to have issues BUT… as soon as I contacted the manufacture and sent them some pictures and a video of it faulting they immediately sent me a new model. I’m not sure if it was a quality issue with the part or the hot California summers that caused everything (I work graveyard so my car is charging during the daytime/afternoon) but I can vouch for excellent customer service with this manufacture. ... show more

I am retired Electrical Engineer and this is my 2nd level 2 charger as first unit,s display failed although it continued to charge. This is a way better built product with cables 30% larger. There is blatantly false review posted here about some home inspector confiscating this charger. Maybe a competitor spreading lies. These units are UL and CEL approved. They’re is no way to determine wire sizes inside cables unless you cut them open. The cables here are thicker than a 50amp rv cable. The max current for a #12 wire is well over 40 amps, and based upon cable size I estimate these are #10 stranded wires which are rated over 50 amps. This unit uses much larger cables and control electronics than my previous charger. Very high end built quality. Brass , maybe plated exposed screws for corrosion resistance, rubber end cap for string outside. Nice accessory’s like hanging hooks. Not the cheapest unit out there but worth it in my opinion. PS. Charging speed is NOT controlled by these types of unit, but by the cars electronics. All any of these charges do is monitor and report on the current used, and this one has integral timer which most electric cars have, as well as a current limiting function which is really not necessary as cars won’t take more current than they are designed for. ... show more

I bought the unit to charge my Bolt EV. For nearly 2 years it worked perfectly, then I started getting an error. Response from Mustart was quick. A new unit was delivered and is now working again. I intentionally did not get a fancy charger with too many bells and whistles as experience has shown that those are just more things to go wrong. The functions of this charger are simpler, but completely appropriate for the task. The amperage level was chosen to match the wiring of the circuit I was connecting to. It is lower than other units, but it avoided thousands of dollars of new wiring by choosing something that would not stress what I have. My EV came with the normal 110 charger but, having never owned an EV before, I was worried it wouldn't be good enough so I ordered this before I even had the car. For the first couple of months, I was very careful about charging every night, so I actually didn't use this charger for a long time. Eventually though, I got a little too comfortable and would've been late to work or appointments multiple times if it were not for this bad boy. I generally got home every day with only 40% battery left because my job was an hour away, meaning I had no choice but to charge if I wanted to make it to work and back without driving out of my way to find a dealership to charge at on the road. Because the only 240 plug I have is in my laundry room, I have to pull into the backyard to use it, but the cord is long enough to reach without me driving completely past the gate (which makes it much easier to back out). The amount of charge it gave me even in just an hour was pretty amazing- especially since I'm used to the 110 that takes about 8 hours. It's been working well for about a year now. I don't need it more than about once or twice-a-month but it has really saved me on days when I forgot to charge or have multiple appointments that are far apart. I'm not sure how it would hold up if I used it more often, but as of right now it still works and looks like new. Overall, living on the outskirts of town is probably not an ideal location to own an EV, but it was important to me and this charger really helped with making it possible. Bonus: It came with a wall mount but because I leave it in it's carrying case hanging on the laundry room wall, I was able to use the mount on the front of the house for the 110 charger, thus making it easier to store and keep both of them neat and off the ground when not in use. ... show more
