Description

The 15 Amp 10 Inch Miter Saw (C10FCGS) is ideal for trim carpenters, framers, and woodworkers who demand precision, reliability and versatility on the job. The 15 amp motor generates a no-load speed of up to 5,000 RPM for making crosscuts and miters with ease, even on the toughest cutting jobs. The C10FCGS is lighter than its predecessor (model C10FCE2) weighing just 24.2 lbs. for easier transport. It’s the lightest 10 In. compound miter saw in its class to date. It has a large table with a vice clamping system to hold your workpiece safely in place. The thumb-actuated positive miter stops allow for simple miter adjustments. The bevel has a range of 45-degrees to the left to provide clean and accurate bevel cuts. The C10FCG has a large extended flip fence which rises to 4 In. to allow for accurate cutting of large workpieces. To keep your work space clean and safe, a dust collector attachment is included. It is covered by Metabo HPT's 5-year warranty.

  • Great quality affordable compound saw
Style: C10FCGS Only
My old "Craftsman" chop saw finally "bit the dust" while using it. Bushings and armature burnt up so had to get a replacement saw. Never heard of this brand before but it had the features I was looking available and the price was affordable as opposed to outrageous. It was packaged really well and it was delivered the same day I ordered it, (with free shipping). So far this exceeded my expectations. Once I unpacked and got it set up and began cutting, I was very impressed. The "safety" pin was easier to operate. The calibration angles were more precisely marked. The safety guard sided up and down with ease. The carbide tip blade it came with made precise "clean" cuts. The motor itself sounded "tight" instead of a loud shrill like most saws do that "wind down" after cutting a board. Overall I was rather impressed and "very happy" with this saw. Plus this saw has a feature my old chop saw did not, it is a compound saw. I usually don't do very much "bevel" cutting but if the need arises, now it is covered. Two thumbs up for this saw. ("Merry Christmas" to me, I got myself a really nice chop saw and I didn't have to mortgage the house to pay for it". ... show more

  • Perfect entry-level, homeowner/hobbyist/DIYer tool
Style: C10FCGS Only
Pros: 1. Came dead-accurate out of the box. Positive stops all work well, and everything was square 90 degrees (or whatever angle or bevel you desire) wherever I set it. You may need to adjust the gauge needles though (I did); 30 seconds and a Phillips screwdriver, no problem. 2. Despite being lightweight, it doesn't feel cheap. Plenty of well-machined metal where it counts, and most of the plastic feels rigid, thick, and of notable quality. I want to stress this; I'm replacing a Craftsman miter saw with this and the difference in the quality of plastic jumped out at me. Not thin or flexible or creaky in the least. 3. Setup an assembly was fairly easy. Cons: 1. By far the biggest con is the blade guard. While everything else feels quality on this machine, the blade guard feels cheap and floppy. It's attached with just a single screw on one side, and there is significant play. If you were to bump it somehow while the blade is spinning, there can absolutely be contact with the blade. Shouldn't be an issue if you use it as intended but be aware of this. 2. The instructions and pictures were a little lacking. If I weren't familiar with miter saws already, I might have gotten confused at several points by the mediocre instructions. 3. I bought a nice 80-tooth blade and it was a pain to change out. The arbor nut was WAY over-torqued from the factory. Had to bang on the included allen key with a hammer to get it to break loose. There's only just enough space for the blade so be careful not to bang up the teeth getting it in. Holding the arbor lock switch in while also holding up the flimsy blade guard while ALSO trying to bang the over-torqued bolt lose was a heck of an experience. 4. The dust collection chute behind the saw is laughably small. I won't take off for this because it was $100 and all miter saws are dust demons but it's even more ridiculously bad on this than most. You'll need to figure something out, or take it outside (fortunately it's the lightest-weight miter saw I've ever encountered). Overall it's. A redesign of the blade guard would take this tool from very good to excellent. This miter saw strikes me as being a quality tool that will work out of the box with minimal setup and adjustments, and do 99% of what 99% of people need a miter saw for. The Craftsman saw I mentioned that I'm replacing with this was a sliding variety, but I never needed the capacity for all the years I've had it. This 10-inch non-sliding will cut through two 2x4s at once. If that's not enough for you, you're likely a high-level professional. For just about everyone else, this will do everything you ask of it for half the price of one of the fancier brands. ... show more

  • You can't beat this deal
Style: C10FCGS Only
For real, this thing is only $119 at the time I purchased. It is lightweight and portable, but man this thing is good. Easy setup if you are new to woodworking. Solid cuts, solid base....and I know it may seem stupid to some, but the green color looks fantastic.

  • Great budget miter saw for the DIYer
Style: C10FCGS Only
This saw was exactly what I was looking for. I bought it for $95 on cyber monday deal. It can cut through a 4x4 without issues and assembles very easily. The blade comes inside of it ready to go except for a few things needing to put together. I have a 5 year old at home so when im not using it (in my garage) I leave it unplugged and in the down position with the blade all the way to the left with the handle tightened so that it would take multiplesteps for the saw to be plugged in and put into a position to cut something. It collapses to a small ish size and is lightweight at around 24 lbs. If the saw breaks I will update this review. ... show more

  • GREAT OUT OF THE BOX!
Style: C10FCGS Only
Works great straight out of the box. hardly any assembly required, I mean very little. This Metabo is worth every bit of the price I paid for it. The blade is sharper than I expected it to be. It's very accurate. Thanks Amazon for another great product.

  • 5 Star for the price
Style: C10FCGS Only
Hey...this isn't your industrial grade saw. But...This is a great saw for around the house projects. It arrived quickly..was in good order and easy enough to assemble. I give it 5 stars because you can't beat it for the price. It will cut compound angles. It is sturdy enough for casual use. If you need one to make a few cuts now and again..don't hesitate. You'll save some money on brand names and still get the job done. ... show more

  • For the money it’s great
Style: C10FCGS Only
While I’m sure for some this will be their first miter saw, and as such this is actually great. Great value for money as well as great functionality. For me, my main bevel saw is one that cost 7 times the price but have this for portability on jobs I don’t want to bother hauling around a 75lb machine. If I’m just cutting framing lumber this is now my go to tool. ... show more

  • good product, accurate and very portable
Style: C10FCGS Only
I had a 12 Hitachi miter saw that served me well. Unfortunately as I got older I found the 45# weight of that saw became increasingly difficult for me to carry and I was looking for a lightweight alternative. This product met that need. At 23 pounds, it is highly portable and the smaller footprint makes storage easier too. Metabo is the new name for Hitachi products (I believe??) so I was familiar with the type and quality of product. Some reviewers said they had a problem with the cut being 2-3 degrees off out of the box. Mine was spot on. No parts were missing, it assembled easily, and it arrived quickly and undamaged in the manufacturer''s packaging. I recommend this product. ... show more
