    • Not worth it
These lights may seem like a fun idea but you'll soon learn that each light is individually connected to your home's WiFi and loses connection often. When it loses protection it will change colors, change brightness and even strobe. The only way to fix it is to get into your phone app and delete the light and reinstall it. If it were a one time thing or even just very few times or if it was only one light, then it wouldn't be all that bad. However, multiple lights can go crazy at once and it happens weekly or more.     • Took less than a day to regret getting these things.
Color: White (Dimmable Only) Size: 2 Bulbs
I purchased these things because I've already set up other rooms with smart lights. The other rooms have smaller bulbs by GE in them and they work flawlessly 99.99% of the time. Within the first few hours of having THESE bulbs however I discovered that my google home can't stay connected to the bulbs consistently to control them. I ordered 2 packs to cover my ceiling so I could control my fan separately from the lights. Maybe keep my fan on to keep the room cool while i'm not home but have the lights turn on as I return home. NOPE Can't do that with these. The lights turn off separately from the fan alright, but google home can only successfully connect to ONE of the bulbs the other 3 just refuse to communicate with my google home all at the same time. I installed the Hue BT App to see what might be going on maybe factory reset them, NOPE there is no option in the app to factory reset them. in order to do it you either need to do this really tedius thing with Amazon Alexa or have a Philips Bridge which is INSANE that I spent this much money just to have to spend another 60$ to control the damn things when ON THE FREAKING BOX IT SAYS WORKS WITH GOOGLE ASSISANT NO HUB REQUIRED. WHY THE HELL DO YOU SAY THESE THINGS WORK WITH GOOGLE ASSISTANT WHEN THEY CLEARLY DON'T WITHOUT THE BRIDGE TO KEEP THEM ALL TOGETHER. Even the damn Hue BT App constantly shows them reconnecting and disconnecting over and over and over again as if they can't seem to keep themselves on at all times. These are either extremely faulty sets of bulbs or they're just a massive rip off. How in the world they've kept these things on the shelves and this popular for this long is beyond understanding to me. DON'T get these bulbs unless you've already purchased the Hue Bridge OR are prepared for a world of pain. I wish GE Made these kinds of bulbs to go with my smaller lamp bulbs. this is just stupid. ... show more

    • You WILL like them... promise
I'm slowly integrating Hue lights throughout my house and outdoor areas. I find them to be everything I would want in my lights... efficient, adjustable, workable with my phone app...and... just down right cool. I've paired the outdoor ones with motion sensors and just thoroughly love that because I now don't have the bugs hanging out all night... it's a Florida thing. The ability to adjust colors and brightness in whichever room is the cat's meow. Expensive, yes. Awesome, yes. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to set them up. If you're sitting on the fence as I was then you should just start with a couple and slowly build you're newly lit up world. You'll be pleasantly surprised... and pleased. ... show more

    • As always, Hue does not disappoint!
Hue is by far the most reliable HomeKit product I use and this is the reason for its heavy presence in my home (with over 200 bulbs and growing). The stability of the system is unmatched among competitors and the quality of the components is top notch. This truly is a case of getting what you pay for, and worth the extra cost compared to some of the more value-centered competitors' apparent deals that do come at the sacrifice of features or reliability. How Hue will totally handle thread remains a bit unknown, with the hubs only currently having support, but I don't see this as a major factor since the Zigbee mesh the bulbs create for themselves is sufficient. The only negative I would consider is that the hubs do have a finite number of bulbs they can support before reliability begins to deteriorate rapidly - with the absolute maximum number being 63 and the danger zone starting at 50. ... show more

    • Top quality lighting, but competitors have made it overly expensive
This is a top quality, dynamic bulb. Colorful, easy to install, and plenty of options in settings that aren’t available on competitors. I took one star off because of its price in comparison to a competitor, Wiz, which is a much cheaper though slightly less dynamic bulb. If you want to make an investment in these, go for it, but I’ll never understand why I need to purchase a hub to have multiple hue bulbs. I’d recommend Wiz, which works through WiFi, for a more cost conscience consumer who doesn’t want to mess around with purchasing a hub and doesn’t mind a narrower color range. ... show more

    • Not the same as the 2 Pack Ambiance
These are not the same as the 2 pack BR30 ambiance Hue bulbs! The single one is only 7.5W and 650 lumen whereas the 2 pack ambiance BR30 Hue bulbs are 9.5W each and 680 lumen each. They even appear in the app different and have different features. The single 7.5W bulb can however utilize Philips resume power state to tell the bulb what color to be when the power is restored. The 2 pack cannot do that at this moment. The single bulb also had a slight whiny noise. I am returning and will just get more 2 packs even though I need an odd number bulbs in my room. ... show more
