I got these because someone at work had bed bugs and decided to share it with the rest of us. Problem persisted for a few months before I really noticed I was getting bitted. Let's just say I was finding them everywhere when I started cleaning. Besides the usual things.you do to get rid of Bed Bugs, I needed a bed cover as well. At first I did the plastic wrap thing, where I wrapped both my mattress and box, but they would rip on the sides eventually and the little guys would get out. Gave these a try, since I was one step away from throwing out my mattress anyway. And it's been a few months, no bites, no rips. These covers actually work. Granted you have to be careful when you put them on and I did place tape covers on the zipper ends, but otherwise, they stopped the little monsters from bitting me. This mattress protector was actually really easy to put on. It gives you instructions on the cover on how to put it on and it says it requires two people but honestly I think one person could have done it without a problem. I washed before putting it on my mattress & that also was pretty simple to do. I dried in my drier and it didn’t get damaged. It lasted about 2 years. Took it off my mattress about once every six months to wash. It did yellow a little from sweat and body oils, perhaps a more frequent washing would resolve this. Finally noticed some wear and tear on the waterproof polyester layer today (June 3, 2023, purchased May 21, 2021) and decided to retire it. For this length of time, it has served well from several accidents and the bed looks and feels almost new. The replacement unit I purchased for cheaper that wasn’t six sided was disappointingly plastic and uncomfortable. I’ll definitely be repurchasing this as I’ve experienced it to be a superior product. The only downside is that since it does encase the bed, it can be very difficult to install alone or if you have a heavy bed. But it clearly states that in the listing. ... show more

This is great, it makes it so I don't have to worry about anything getting on my child's mattress. I will say though that it is quite difficult to put it on, so once it's on, cross your fingers that you won't have to wash it anytime soon.. I love that it zips, but the zippers only go about half way around (think putting a sandwich in a ziplock bag) so if your mattress is heavy, it can be difficult. But we love it. After the horrendous feeling of confirming bed bugs after a neighbor visited, I immediately went into panic mode about what to do. I had gotten a mattress cover from walmart, but no change happened and I was still getting eaten up at night. After 2 weeks with that, I decided to get something better. I ordered this, and a 4lb bag of diatomaceous earth. I covered the entire baseboard line with the DE, and put this cover on my mattress. I haven't seen one of those little blood suckers in months, and have had no new bites. I will say, it took a few days to notice the difference. After 2 weeks, I found 1 lone bed bug on my bed. Since then, I've seen absolutely nothing. I tend to wake up with sweat all over the cover, but just sitting on the bed, it doesn't seem like it is hot or anything. After our last camping trip, we put the camper in storage for several months. We pulled it out for the first time the other day, and discovered that my youngest daughter had spilled water in the area between her mattress and the wall in her bunk. The mattress cover was stained on top, and when I lifted the mattress, there was so much mildew on the bottom of the mattress cover, and on the wood plank that the mattress sits on. We brought it home to clean it, and the mattress cover did its job! Not one speck of mildew penetrated the cover. My husband started washing the cover without taking it off the mattress (which I chastised him for) and when we removed it the mattress was completely dry. I love this so far. It wasn’t hard to put on. It fit my queen pillow top mattress perfectly. It’s made of 100% polyester so I don’t know why people say it’s hot. I put this over my mattress, then the mattress pad, and then my sheets and I can’t tell any difference in temperate at all.
