as a reinactor i use sheepskins as something to lay on while at events, they can make laying on the grass go from uncomftorble, to, you fell asleep and wake up some time later and dident notice it kind of comftorble. i got one of these and dont regret it at all for this same reason, be warned!, with sheepskins you have to do some maintinence, aka, when it starts clumping, get one of those metal wire bristle brushes you can get for your dog/cat for 10$, and brush it in every direction allover for a fiew minutes at the clumping spot, and your good, depending on use, will depend on how often you have to maintain the poofyness, dont brush too hard or you pull out the wool, which will reducd its long term life expectancy. brush lightly and gradualy work the bristles deeper. ... show more

Recently we stayed at an Airbnb that had one of these rugs, and our 15 year old dog took to it right away. So naturally we had to get her one for home. It’s very soft and seems well made. Thus far it has shed only slightly. I’m hoping it holds up in the wash when it comes time.

I gave it 4 stars because the pic was rectangular, but the rug was that “natural shape” or bear shape. I have owned a few of these type shag rugs.
