I really like this lock. The multiple ways to unlock it put it high on my list when I was moving to a smart lock and I don't regret it at all. I have had it installed now for several months and out of all of my smart home purchases I feel that this is one of my favorites and most worth the money. I have had next to no issues with it, which can't be said for all smart home products. There are a couple of things that are by no means deal breakers, but are things that I feel I should bring up. 1. Since installing there has been one firmware update. That update caused the app to tell the lock that it was facing the other direction. This meant that the lock would "jam." I thought the lock was failing and it took me a bit to figure it out. 2. This isn't the fault of the lock, but towards the end of the day when the sun is setting and beating down on my front door the fingerprint sensor doesn't work. Not a huge deal, because of the other ways to unlock it. Just something you should know if you're looking to buy. 3. I had a locksmith come to rekey all of my locks down to a single key after I moved into a new house. I read that this uses a Schlage key, so I swapped all my other locks to Schlage. The locksmith went to rekey only to discover that while the key body for this lock is a Schlage the teeth are cut as Kwikset. Not the end of the world. I just have two keys instead of one, but make sure you buy Kwikset locks if you want it compatible with this one. Like I said up above, overall I am really satisfied with this lock. I did a lot of research on smart locks prior to purchasing and I am glad I took a shot with this one. ... show more

Let's do a "good vs bad" thing here, because this lock has a LOT to talk about. The Good: The installation was quick and painless. Adding the bridge, also quick and painless. All in all, connecting and pairing and generally "starting" is very painless. The cylinder is solid (Kwikset is, for some reason, using a lot of plastic in their cylinder. Not Ultraloq). The options for locking/unlocking are staggering - app, key, fingerprint, code, Alexa (with PIN). All in all, it's a good solid lock with a load of options and a very easy setup/installation. The bad: Alexa integration is... troublesome. Works sometimes, doesn't work others. Not sure why it fails to lock when I issue the command about a quarter of the time. The app itself is a bit spotty on Android (not sure about IOS) - sometimes it seems to get stuck for no apparent reason. Adding additional accounts is troublesome - I added my wife's email, then the registration timed out, then it told me that the email was already used when I tried again, but she'd never gotten a registration email. Last negative bit: Only two fingerprints per user? Come on. At LEAST 4. Right thumb, left thumb, right index, left index. Even my phone lets me do that. I might have to create an extra account just to add more fingerprints as a workaround, because 2 is not enough. Despite the shortcomings, this is the best-reviewed biometric deadbolt for a good reason. It's solid and has LOADS of options. ... show more

We purchased this for our 2nd home so we could set codes for guests and service people to enter when we weren't there. We like the features but we're still trying to get this completely set up after 2 weeks. We didn't realize it needs to be in 2.4 wifi and the connection at our 2nd home where we installed this lock keeps trying to put it on the 5.0 connection. The lock itself works well most of the time but we did have an issue once where it wouldn't accept our code but did unblock from the app on our phone. We reset the codes and they once again worked. That made us a bit nervous do we're making extra copies of the key to keep in our vehicle just in case. I'll update this review in a couple of weeks. ... show more

First the bridge didn't work. They sent me another. Didn't work. Sent me the inner part of the lock and finally worked. For about 9 months, then the lock didn't unlock. Thank heavens I did hide a key, though it took me awhile to remember where. Then they sent me some lock innard replacement. I had the lock installed by a handyman and had to wait for him to install the new one. During all of this, the only thing that I got from customer service was links to their website instructions and finally replacements. I have had the lock taken apart and reinstalled multiple times. During the last time lost the itty bitty bolt connecting it to the door and can't get a replacement or even an answer from customer service. I'm not impressed at all with this lock. I'm actually really disappointed. None of the features that I bought this lock for, work how they're suppose to. The auto unlock feature doesn't work. The shake to open says it's working but doesn't unlock the door. The remote unlocking/ locking via the gateway works about 1 out of 10 times. The Alexa voice unlocking is the same 1 out of 10 time working ratio. The app is horrible. Once you make a user and put in their fingerprints and passcode you can't delete the passcode or fingerprint unless you delete the user. Which sucks if you want to delete a passcode made for the admin because you'd have to delete the admin user account. Also everytime I open the app it takes around 45 seconds to load up the settings. And that's even if it does load without having to close and reopen the app 2 or 3 times. I'm pretty sure I'm going to send it back for a refund. I have a couple other smart locks and they work perfect compared to this. I should have listened to the bad reviews and just stuck with the same kind I've been using. ... show more
