  • Works great for old 486 CPU
Number of Items: 4
I use these for older 486 CPUs. I restore and build vintage PCs and was looking for something to cool 486 CPUs since it is nearly impossible to find clips for the old heat synchs that are not broken. This is great for DX4-100, AMD K5 and others in the 486 class. The fins get quite hot, so I know it is drawing heat out. The thermal tape does a good transfer of heat form the CPU to the aluminum. They also look like original early 1990s design. They don't take away form the vintage look of the PC they are in. I have also put small Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX fans on top for the DX4 and AMD K5 CPUs to give a bit more airflow. The fan isn't necessary, but they are nearly silent and help cooling, so why not give the CPU a bit of help. ... show more

  • Great quality multi purpose heat sink with adhesive thermal compound. The compound sticks great.
Number of Items: 4
The size is designated on the specs, so make sure you like what you see b4 ordering. Then it will fit what you intend. I am using it for 50 amp bridge rectifiers. Running them at 10 amps in a motorcycle application and there is some wind blowing on them so active cooling not needed on the heat sink.. Just passive. The termal compound sticks fine and dandy. Gently texture your item with 400 grit sandpaper and clean it with acetone very well. If your item is sensitive to acetone, use pure alcohol. I have no transmissive info on the thermal paste or the heat sink. ... show more

  • Awesome Heatsinks
Number of Items: 4
I've bought two sets of these for use on some power bricks. Of which they get abnormally hot. They work great for dissapating heat from the brick, I can tell just from touching them. I have the bricks mounted upside down, under my desk, along with the heatsinks. I'd say they stick very well if they can withstand being upside down. If I ever need more of these, I know where to get them. ... show more

  • Change the thermal tape, and you're good to go.
Number of Items: 4
They work great, I had to peel off the tape and use a thermal adhesive. The tape sticks fine, I just needed a TIM with better heat transfer. Added this heatsink and a fan, and my Northbridge temps dropped around 20c

  • Damaged and poorly made. Not recommended.
Number of Items: 4
The adhesive on all heatsinks had a bump or a bubble which decreases the contact surface which results in poor thermal conduction. One of them (shown in the picture) looked very damaged and different from others. The adhesive was had lost its stickiness and as shown in the picture, was really messed up. ... show more
