  • Dirty Pool, Old Man...
Capacity: 1TB
I bought this drive because Amazon recommended it. I liked the idea of a drive that was more economical than the Samsung or the WD. I've had difficulties with it from moment one. The cloning software that came with it (Acronis True Image) didn't recognize my shiny new Sabrent drive, and the disk management software wouldn't let me initialize the disk. Mayhap I'm doing something wrong. Customer support has been prompt in contacting me, but the solution lately has been that I need to buy a Sabrent brand enclosure ($45) in order for the cloning software to recognize it, rather than using the enclosure that I already had. This brings my total costs up to $165, which is the price of the Samsung 970 EVO that I originally wanted anyway! I feel like I was catfished into buying this product. Unless lightning strikes and something amazing happens, I'll be sending the Sabrent drive back and just going with the Samsung. That said, I do appreciate the customer support, so I'm gonna give 2 stars. Still... Dirty pool, old man! ... show more

  • Disappointed... lac of and misleading information on the question-answer section of this product
Capacity: 1TB
From the beginning I was questioning the difference between the Black variant of Sabrent Rocket with the white one. Because of this I went to the questions made by customers on Amazon and found that there were some people asking the same thing. The official answer of SABRENT was that they both were mainly the same, BUT the White one had just a little slower writing speeds, for which I did not care at all because I was going to use it with a USB 3.2 enclosure which does work with those speeds. So I chose to buy this product because it was cheaper than the Black Sabrent Rocket. I assumed there was no other BIG difference between them both as Sabrent's official answer was clear... I'm quoting Sabrent's answer to this question: " The main differences include the Rocket Q having a custom controller, based on 3D QLC NAND Flash, and speeds can reach up to 3200 MB/s (Read) and 2000 MB/s (Write) when using a PCIe 3.0x4 slot. SB-ROCKET-1TB is based on 3D TLC NAND Flash, and speeds can reach up to 3400 MB/s (Read) and 3000 MB/s (Write) when using a PCIe 3.0x4 slot. " Sabrent support. After buying this product and having it delivered at my hotel (I live outside the US) I ended up watching a video in youtube about QLC having a significant MUCH SLOWER speed than TLC and that's not all... The worst thing is this, QLC(WHITE SABRENT ROCKET) has a MUCH SHORTER lifespan than TLC(BLACK SABRENT ROCKET) and that's why I went to the internet again to see what was this all about, I ended up finding that White sabrent rocket had a life span of 260 TBW. and the Black one having a lifespan of **1,665 TBW**. yes you are reading right... MORE THAN 6 times the lifespan of the white one!!!! I think this lack of information on the published item on amazon is misleading because it's decision making one... for only $20 more I could've got a much faster and reliable SSD. Now I wont be able to return this because I live in South America and I would really appreciate a solution to this... I'm really disappointed with this purchase, rating it 1 star... Hope sabrent support could contact me any time soon. ... show more

  • Be very wary
Capacity: 1TB
Got this in today - was totally unformatted - none of the arconis stuff they said was avail. Only was to use this to upgrade my laptop will be a fresh install. -- update - the program and sector changer can be downloaded from their website. Here's the kicker tho - unless you use one of their enclosures the program won't recognize the ssd as a sabrent. So you have to fork over another 40$ for one of their enclosures to clone your current ssd. Slick trick.-- Update Their enclose came in today -- using their sector converter and their acronis program was easy to clone. Just wish they had mentioned need their enclosure to work. HD is vfast so upgraded to 4 stars ... show more

  • Please read update
Capacity: 2TB
**Please read update** I bought 2 Sabrant rockets. One for my gaming omen laptop, and the other one for my main desktop. 2 months down the line the one in my desktop starts to having bootloops and driver errors (specifically bugcode ndis driver). I'm not sure if it it's a lemon or not, but whatever it is I can't even load windows onto it anymore. I took it to the repair shop to diagnose the problem. Turns out the drive itself is refusing to load a clean installation of Windows 10. As it only loaded from another m.2 drive. I don't know what Sabrant's policy is for this particular model, or Amazon but all I know is I'm out of $200 plus dollars on one of their drives. Thanks to a very rare issue. Update: After a few weeks of using it I came to the conclusion that Microsoft was more or less responsible for this mess. Do to a driver update gone bad. ... show more

  • Exactly what I needed
Capacity: 1TB
UPDATE: I currently have the drive 54% filled (basically all game files) and after running a diskmark test it is still reading at 3500MB/s and writing at 1800MB/s. Typically these drives start slowing down massively after they start getting filled but this drive is showing no symptoms of slowing down at all. It's actually doing better at this point than my Samsung 960Evo did which really says something. Plus it's significantly cheaper than any Samsung NVMe drive of this capacity. I'll probably buy a couple more of these to replace older ones with at some point that are smaller capacities than this. Built a new HTPC to replace my old one and got this to expand the storage a bit for games to load faster than the other 2TB spinning drive I have for mass storage. The drive is decently fast even when half full and I haven't noticed any issues with it. As a note, like others, the version of Acronis that you can download with this drive is strictly only for cloning the drive. It's not the full version of the programs. I do also want to say that I have NVMe drives from several manufacturers (Sabrent, Intel, Patriot, Samsung) but the packaging of this one in particular is worth noting. Amazon apparently doesn't give you the option to upload a photo to a review anymore but the drive comes in an aluminum case with soft foam inside holding it in place. Exceptional packing for sure. The drive doesn't run super hot like my other ones either. The temperature is at 47C while installing games to it while it is up against the fans of the GPU in my mini ITX case. ... show more
