Top Amazon Reviews

  • Stunning picture
Style: 75NANO90UNA
We had been looking to get into a 4K tv for awhile especially since the announcement of the new game systems promoting 4K @ 120fps.... we started looking around thanksgiving but we missed the boat as items were already sold out. This LG wasnt really on the radar as the guy at Best Buy said its not as good as the SONY X900 or the Samsung Q80 or Q90.... Looking at the Q90 on display it looked WOW, but at about $1200 more than the LG I figured it should have more wow. I went online and read and watched some reviews of the LG Nano 90, and the reviews were pretty positive especially saying it really was onboard with all the new game system tech to enhance gaming, 120FPS, HDR 10+, and LG's own gaming response settings....more on that in a bit. The downsides that were said was it wasnt bright (low NITS) and could bloom and/or washout with whites.... so.... decision was made to keep an eye out when this baby would go on sale....it did on Amazon for $1499....a little reluctant to buy from Amazon, but rolled the dice. We bought the 75" Nano 90. It was delivered within a week and a half, very professionally done by a local frieght co. First off, it comes with a 2 leg stand, and I knew it would not fit on the cabinet we have our tech in, so I bought a pedestal stand from amazon to make it work....it was another $80 but its a tank, very sturdy, especially for this big guy. OK, this TV is AMAZING!! out of the box WOW! I dont know where the reviews were saying its not bright, it is very bright and crisp especially since the room we have it in gets afternoon sun and is very bright. When we set up the internet connection to it, it immediately did an update, so I dont know what was in that update, but it appears it addresses alot of the "minuses" that were said about it. The remote does take a bit to get used to , but is very intuitive once you get the hang of it. it is a wand type remote kind of like a Wii controller if you what I speak of here. The LG OS system is nice and you can download a large selection of apps to the menu and set it up anyway you like. We have yet to get wifi stutter from things like Netflix or Disney+ (Mandalorian WOW) . We have FiOS and this tv upscales that content extemely well, sports are eye bleedingly crisp, even old tv shows look better. We did find that some FiOS content on our DVR does "skip" not sure if thats just a product of the DVR system or the TV trying to keep it "synched" . I recently bought an Xbox series X and waiting until this TV arrived before setting it up. The Wow factor gets taken up a few notches here. The ability to do 120fps, VRR, HDR 10+ sets a new bar in visuals, but its the LG game response that really shines. This feature vastly improves response times from controller input to visual response. I thought this was all marketing lip service, until I started crushing in online MP. When playing on my old setup I always wondered how I could be so bad at COD,BF etc, I could see myself hitting but never getting the score, I always thought there was cheating or something going on...the response delay was the issue...even milliseconds will do it....The LG Nano's have some of the fastest response times in the 2020 tv class....and it makes a difference...believe me!. The only thing I can say about this tv that is remotely negative, is that the sound from the speakers does not compete with the picture that the Nano LED screen gives you....its not horrible , but it certainly is not concert quality, there are setting to adjust it , and its OK, but even my wife agrees its not great. So if youre looking for cutting edge 4K quality especially for the next generation of gaming that just showed up and you dont want to drain the bank account, the LG Nano 90 will do it all. ... show more

  • You can do a lot better for just a little more money
Style: 75NANO90UNA
I am very biased so please take my review with a grain of salt just because I am a Sony Bravia guy, and I went backwards and tried to save money by buying an LG screen. With that in mind, if you are expecting close to an OLED screen, YOU WILL NOT GET IT, with this television. I really wanted to like this TV, really I did. But I was coming from a 2018 Sony Bravia XBR65x900e and I wanted a screen that had Dolby Vision and the newest technology. I felt the colors were washed out and the blacks were very unimpressive. I decided to spend another $400 and jump up to the 2020 Sony Bravia model. Again, I am an Audio/Visual-phile, so please, I may be being overly critical of this screen. Since it took me almost 5 years to even purchase my first 4K TV, and why do you ask? Because I was still getting an amazing picture with my Samsung Plasma TV. It still works amazingly well, but it was only a 50” and I needed a bigger screen for my family and master bedroom. Therein lies a dilemma. Jumping from a plasma to a 4K means that you basically have to choose the best of the best or an OLED. I chose the Sony Bravia because they created the OLED, and honestly it’s very difficult to tell the difference between their top of the line Bravia models and their OLED screens, and even if there is a difference, I am not about to be able to spend another $2,000 on a television to find out. That is just my review and opinion. Like I said, take it with a grain of salt unless you are an audio/video-phile ... show more

  • Good but not Great.
Style: 75NANO90UNA
Overall I got this tv for really one reason. The new PS5 because the features it has. I don't have the new PS5 yet but hope that to get it soon. Until then the TV has great features with LG. Love the remote and Smart aspects of it. I have a 75 inch LG OLED upstairs to compare to. The Nano is good but it isn't great. Picture is good and darkness is fine but if you have the money just do the OLED. It honestly kicks its but in picture, contrast, dark dark. The OLED is so sharp it feels like they are in the room with you. The Nano does a good job but still feels like you are watching a tv. The size helps get you fully immersed into the show. If I didn't have an OLED, i would probably be rating this higher. ... show more

  • Remote power on/off doesn’t work...
Style: 75NANO90UNA
I’m giving this TV 1 star because the TV remote power on/off doesn’t work. The picture quality is very good but webOS should be scrapped. The remote power on and off button doesn’t work and there isn’t any useful help on online that addresses the issue I have. I use a 2020 model Denon receiver for audio and it turns on and off all my devices except this TV. The only way I can turn in on/off is to press the physical power button on the TV itself. I’ve tried resetting it, de-pairing and re-pairing the remote, resetting the Denon receiver /LG TV and nothing fixes the problem. I’ve also tried using eARC ports on both the Denon and the LG TV and non eARC ports and even crossing them with non eARC HDMI ports and none of that fixes the problem. The smart (dumb) remote doesn’t pair with any of my devices except for the Denon receiver which I unpaired. I’m considering returning the TV and purchasing a Samsung. I have an older LG 65 inch model I purchased in 2014 and it didn’t have the on/off problem with the Denon receiver. If I disconnect the TV from every every external device and reset it, unpair/re-pair smart remote, the remote power on/off button still doesn’t work which eliminates the Denon receiver as an issue. I’ve tried shutting off Simplink and auto power sync on both the LG and Denon receiver and those variations don’t restore remote TV on/off through any device I have and is frustrating. I’ve owned this TV for 2 weeks and spent over 20 hours trying to get this issue resolved! The picture frame mode shows a message about no input detected so ruins the novelty of displaying artwork when not watching TV with a floating message covering part of the art. Not a word in the online help about this topic either... ... show more
