    • Pricey but worth it in the long run!
After years of using my PowerTank for our Jeeps (3 in our family) and always having to (more like trying to) keep track of each use to know how many tire refills I had left, I decided to follow a friend's lead and pulled the trigger on this unit! I'm loving it! The refills might take a little longer than CO2, and it is definitely a little slower (a few more minutes for set up and actually refilling), BUT, I have unlimited air now! Also, after refilling with the CO2 I was always deflating and refilling the tires the next day or two. Why? For some reason our tires, Nitto Trail Grapplers and Toyo Open Countrys, always lost air. Not sure why but the tires always lost pressure after refilling with the CO2!? Now? No loss! For me, totally worth the cost, my son has inherited the PowerTank and we'll always have it with us just in case! ... show more

    • Great compressor
Received the portable "ARB (CKMTP12) 12V Twin Motor" compressor in two days and tried it out expecting a problem or two based on previous reviews. Well, I received a unit that does NOT have any of the issues in previous reviews. The quick connectors do NOT leak when lateral pressure is applied and I tried to make it leak - they all work just fine, nothing to replace. My existing hose plugs in just fine with no leaks, so, maybe ARB read the reviews and made some changes to what they use for connectors. The fit and finish all looks professional / high quality to me but of course I have only used it once. Lines in case from compressor to tank are braided stainless steel which should last a long time. The performance was great as it brought my 33 inch tire up from 15 lbs to 37 lbs in less than 2 minutes. The downside is the price, its very pricy but I would buy again. ... show more

I have been looking at this set up for a while but was hesitant to pull the trigger. Just wasn't sure a portable system was what I would like. I saw there was a used option and after reading the description (something to the effect of minor blemishes) and seeing the deeply discounted price I hit the order button. I could not be happier! The blemishes were insignificant and sure the price was great but this thing is outstanding! I have the same pump hard mounted to my Tacoma and love it but this portable set up is too slick. No need to move the truck around to access the compressor if I am helping someone air up or need to put air in the tires of my trailer (has batt onboard). I just walk over with this and we are in business. The full price is still a tough pill to swallow but definitely worth it IMHO. ... show more

    • 2nd time's a charm
Ordered first unit -- It arrived and worked for about 20 seconds then went kaput. Called ARB support and they believed that some thermal protection unit was tripped inside the device and it would need to be sent in. Since I had only been in possession of the unit for about an hour, I didn't feel like going through the hassle of having it 'repaired'. Instead, I decided to trade that hassle for the hassle of sending it back to Amazon. Didn't get reimbursed anywhere near the cost of shipping the unit back to them (another $40 out of pocket for someone else's problem) but they did advance-exchange the device, so the new one arrived on my doorstep soon thereafter. (Not that it did me a lot of good; I was already on the trails for the trip I *wanted* this compressor on.) When I got home from my trip (and luckily, many others had air compressors that I could borrow) I unboxed and plugged in this unit -- voila! It actually started pumping and didn't die after 20 seconds. Progress! From what I can tell in the short time i've played with it, I should be pretty happy with this unit. Also, I had a nice reminder about why mail-order, while convenient, certainly has areas for improvement as well. But that's not ARBs fault. The bad compressor is their fault. ... show more

This air compressor is very fast. Blew one of the 40a fuses this weekend and both compressors stopped working. The control power is tied into only one leg of harness. In order to be redundant control power would need to come from both 12v+ Legs in the harness.
