  • Forget this one! It has at least three flaws. Two you could live with, the other you can't.
Style: Microphone Stand without Mic Clip
First the Pros: :-) - It's cheap. - It folds up into a nice, small package. - It's tall enough for most any purpose.. - The matte black finish looks nice. Now the cons. :-( - The boom is shorter than it looks in the pictures. (I can live with that) - The boom is permanently mounted on the stand so you can't remove it and use as a regular mic stand (I can live with that) - The boom adjustment is friction based and there is to way to tighten it enough to hold up any but the most light weight mic. (Deal Killer.) With just a couple no or low cost design fixes it could have been pretty good. As it is, I am considering returning it and looking into spending a few more bucks and getting a decent one...if I can find one, UPDATE: I returned this less than 24 hours after receiving it when it wouldn't even hold up one of my lightest weight mics. Is there a better one available on Amazon? I have no idea. ... show more

  • Not just a microphone stand....
Style: Microphone Stand without Mic Clip
Ok- so I don’t have a use for this microphone for singing. I needed something so that I could do over head tutorials.. I sew and like to do tutorials. This was the perfect item! I record using my iPhone and the screw at the end of this is 3/8” head and my cell phone holder is 1/4”. Well, I solved that problem- I bought a screw converter so that I am able to attach my phone to this. I purchased the screw converter off amazon also- here’s the product description: Sunmns 1/4 Inch and 3/8 Inch Converter Threaded Screws Adapter Mount Set for Camera/Tripod/ Monopod/Ballhead/ Light Stand/Shoulder Rig, 21 Pieces... Late last year I bought an Arkon over head desktop tripod for that cost me 99.99, but does not give me the overhead coverage like this microphone stand.. so, if you need something to shoot overhead vids or tuts- this combo is great. ... show more

  • "Microphone Holder (not provided)"
Style: Microphone Stand without Mic Clip
I've never felt so cheated with a purchase, especially from Amazon Basics, I expected better. When a person purchases a microphone stand with the intention of attaching their mic to it, they shouldn't have to buy a SECOND product that isn't even clearly advertised alongside this. This product should come with a "microphone holder" PERIOD I was fortunate enough to have one from an old microphone, but this "Microphone Holder" piece is definitely not present with all studio mics. ... show more

  • Puny boom tightener won't support a normal mic
Style: Microphone Stand without Mic Clip
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Cheap lightweight mic stand, for an ultra-light plastic mic only. The non-removable boom will not support any standard mic: I put my Shure SM58 on, tightened the boom as much as possible, and at a 45 degree angle it just droops on down - completely useless for stage. At this price, I'd remove the garbage boom and use a gooseneck instead - but the boom is permanently clamped, instead of threaded, to the main stand shaft. Delivered this morning, returning this afternoon. ... show more

  • Works well for what I bought it for (see review for details).
Style: Microphone Stand without Mic Clip
This I bought as I was looking for a way to do over head shots for photo and videos. Of course I could have bought an expensive heavy over head boom, but that was out of my budget so I bought this to see if it would work. You may ask, did it work? Well depends on what your expectations are. My expectations were to hang a Canon SL2 with a 10-18MM lens for a total weight of about 25oz over a table. It does work up to about 4-5 feet high (as long as one of the 3 legs is pointing in the same direction as the boom, other wise it will definatly fall over without counter weights) and as far out as you can see in the photos in this review. For anything above 4-5ft, you would need to weight the back legs down to offset the hanging weight. Note: In the photos, you will see that I used this adapter that I bought on Amazon to connect the camera: CM01 Video Camera/Digital Recorder Adapter Pros: Build quality good for the price. It met my expectations as decribed above. Easy to transport and store. Cons: Not a heavy stable boom, but you get what you pay for. Works in my situation, but would not for anything much heavier. ... show more

  • Great low-cost boom stand for off camera external microphone.
Style: Microphone Stand without Mic Clip
Works great for a light microphone. I use it for my Rode VideoMic Go creating Youtube Vids. Im a one man show so this helps to place the mic right where i need it for the best sound standing away from the camera. I would not suggest using this for any heavy really expensive microphones as it is easier to tip over. ... show more

  • Budget stand for reasonable price.
Style: Microphone Stand without Mic Clip
Pros: • This is a budget solution to a boom mic (shotgun) setup. • It is very portable and has built in clips for holding cable. • The end of the boom can be removed to adjust to smaller mounting. Cons: • It is a budget stand, so a mic with any sort of weight is going to topple it over withough additional stabilization (very light stand). • It does not extend very high (think of it as more of a traditional mic stand rather than a boom) and the higher you go, the more stability is a factor. • I purchased “new”, but this stand was obviously used. There were scratches on it, the legs already had paint scratched through from use and there were fingerprints all over it as though the previous owner had dined on some fried food before assembly. Summary: I have an eight foot acoustic drop ceiling so height isn’t much of an issue for me. I am using a rode mic go on it, so weight isn’t an issue. I plan on using if for recording announcements, so the portability of it is great. I will be sitting for most of my personal recordings, so all in all the stand meets my requirements and at a reasonable price. If you are looking for something more durable and sturdy, possibly taller and longer reach... well, you are going to pay for it. ... show more

  • Nice mic stand for the price
Style: Microphone Stand without Mic Clip
Nice mic stand for the price. Holds in position, even with a heavy Blue Yeti mic attached. The only drawback is that it isn't terribly sturdy, so perhaps not the best choice as a gig stand, but for light recording use it fits the bill. If you're looking for a stand that doesn't have to put up with a bunch of abuse and can hold a decent amount of weight then you're not going to find a better deal. ... show more
