Two year update: the rug is now on the enclosed porch of a second apartment where it is exposed to sun and water. Still holding up fine. After serious downsizing, we moved into a small apartment with outdoor and plastic furniture (except for the 30 year old lounge chair) for our living room. It worked fine but seemed a little sparse until I bought this rug. I am amazed at how it transformed all of our cheap furniture into a unit and it feels better underfoot. I combined it with a $20 Aurrako rug pad but I'm not sure the pad was necessary. The colors are a bit brighter than they appeared in the Amazon photo but I prefer it that way. The rug is thin but soft underfoot and the thinness doesn't matter. A thicker pad would have made a big difference but we want to keep costs at a minimum and the goal was not for the floor to be cushiony. I noticed that all four corners were sitting 3/4" above the floor so I put a damp rag and can of beans on top of them. Six hours later, all four corners sat flat on the floor. Photo just minutes after unrolling the carpet. The dogs love it! The colors are perfect! I was afraid it would be too light and am thrilled it is darker than the Amazon photos. Hopefully it will relax quickly and I can put the cans and bottles back in the pantry! As far as the actual colors, the grey is a pure dove grey, the blue is almost a periwinkle, the yellow is butterscotch, the red is cranberry, the orange is a dark pumpkin, and the green is a bright spring grass green, with black and a small amount of cream. The yellow is flecked throughout the carpet. I am very pleased and certain it will be perfect with the furniture arriving tomorrow! ... show more

I like this rug. I got the Ivory Multi. It gives some color to the room but not in your face color. The background color is cream and taupe, much warmer looking than in the picture. There are small spots of a sort of maize or gold color interspersed throughout the rug that adds some depth to the background. The colors of the diamonds are true to the picture. I was afraid it would look to tribal but it doesn't even though some of the small black diamonds look a little like animal prints. Not all of them though. It's easy to vacuum as well. We just replaced our ancient carpet with wood flooring and I needed an area rug to pull it all together. I knew a traditional pattern wouldn't fit with my aesthetic, but I also didn't want something super modern looking. This one seemed perfect, multiple colors like I wanted, a pattern that was a little bit boho but not too wild. Finally got to unroll it this week and I love it. Initially I was slightly disappointed that the background was a little more taupe than expected and the greens and blues different than they appeared on my computer, but they quickly grew on me and still work to pull everything together. (Honestly, I was going to repaint my walls, but the burgundy color in the rug pulled them into my whole color scheme and now I'm not sure.) I weighted down the edges and corners for about 24 hours and that has them just about flattened out. In a smaller size this rug might slip and need something underneath, but as it is it seems to stay in place well. It's soft, not super thick, just about right. I might decide on a rug pad at a later date. My only 'con' is that it is slippery. Because this is my exercise space in the morning I am often doing lunges, etc on the carpet and I find my feet sliding a bit. So just be aware that if this is going in a space where you exercise you may want an exercise mat for grip. I would absolutely purchase this again, though. (And at the price point, if I get tired of it in a few years I wouldn't feel guilty about replacing it.) ... show more

This is our 2nd Safavieh area rug. Our couch is taupe, needed an area rug to blend in and add color to the room. I was uncertain if the colors would be too bold in the Ivory/Multi. After looking at a number of other rugs we decided to purchase this in the 2'3" x 4' to make sure the colors would work. We're very pleased with color scheme, ivory background with a hint of grey, gold intertwined, more solid colors are black, red, blue, green, gold diamond patterns. My intention was to return the smaller, we decided to keep it as well. It's not too thick, good quality, very comfortable walking on, vacuums well, we did add a pad underneath. Update: bought this rug in red for bedroom and it's gorgeous. I absolutely love these rugs and the price can't be beat. I absolutely love this rug and I'm considering buying another one for my bedroom. It changed the whole look of my living room. I love the Moroccan/Bohemian vibe and tend to prefer this style. It doesn't show pet hair which is a good thing because I have three dogs and three cats. If you are on the fence about buying this rug, you won't have any regrets.
