You know how it is- you buy something for your pet and they’d rather play with the packaging than use the item you got them. My cats did love the box this came in. Thankfully they love this pad as well. I got the leopard print in the large. I have two cats under 10lbs each. They can both lay on this comfortably but usually it’s just one. I purchased this because we live in a very drafty house in Michigan and I wanted to keep them warmer. It works well and they lay on it all the time. Only thing I don’t like is that the material is a little hard in spots…it’s probably the netting now that I’m thinking about it. The fabric is very soft but I might be feeling the netting peeking through when I rub it. It’s no big deal and the cats don’t care. I may purchase another of these to put in a different location. I bought this self warming pad for my one year old litter mates I refer to as the Purr Sisters because they were always in my warm spot when I returned to bed in the night after a potty break. I hated to move them and I ended up moving over to a cold spot in my bed. This self warming pad was the answer to this dilemma. I put the pad on the cold side of the bed to start the night and the Purr Sisters never moved off of the pad the whole night. They prefer the pad to their usual spots on the cat tree during the day too. I may end up folding the pad up and putting it in away for the daytime hours just so they get up and move around a bit. ... show more

i have a border collie and at first for a few weeks he seemed to love it would drag it around to sleep on it until one day he seemed to go balistic and had enough of the inside crinkle sound ..chewed a small hole in it and proceeded to pull out the inside liner of thermal that crinkled through that hole untill it was all gone....found the blanket completely inside out. smart dog! He knew what part of the blanket he did not like and saved the soft part! now he seems happy with it. ... show more

I ordered two of these. One is for two outside cats and it works for them. The second was for a crate for my frenchie. It fit my 36 in crate perfect. It was chewed up the first night. Ugh

The sound the matt makes when the cats walk on it scared them and they would not use. It is a hard, foil, crunching noise.
