You can absolutely wash and dry this rug, but with some care. We purchased the 6 x 9 size, and I can say that it is definitely cleaned up well. I discovered my pup had an accident, so I took it to the laundromat and put it in one of the extra large washers set with cold water and regular laundry detergent. Next, I put it in the laundromat’s dryer on the lowest (cold) setting. I dried it for 10 minutes at a time, checking it every time until it was just slightly damp (about 30 minutes total). Took it home and stretched it over on patio to dry it for about two hours. Smells fresh and clean and it’s so soft and fluffy! A great value, especially for our multi-pet home! ... show more

This is my second purchase of this area rug. I bought a grey one for one of my kids a few months ago and the other kids wanted one too. It's very soft and fluffy and I find the kid sleeping on it instead of in the bed. It feels like there is a lot of padding when you walk on it but the rug is not bulky. It reminds me of the memory foam in your shoes, that squishy comfort feeling. I wanted a red one but all that was available was burgundy however, the color is actually more of a red color so that was a huge relief as I was not sure burgundy would work in the room. I have German Shepherds and miniature doxies, and I wanted something soft and warm for them to lay on. The similar material dog beds I bought last year are just too bulky to wash easily and well. The dogs love them and they instantly tried them out. I am a little sad at the loss of cushion for comfort, but looking forward to tossing these in the washer as often as needed. I purchased this 6x9 rug in 2021. It does shed but not excessively, yes if you sit on it it will show on your clothing. It also gets matted in high traffic areas, like where you sit regularly. Although it’s washable, I would only sweep it and shake it out frequently because it seemed to be too large for my washer and I was afraid it would mess up. Well I decided to wash it. It matted even more, but after using a pet brush on it while it was wet, it dried like new!! In the pic, the left side is matted, right side is brushed. Added both photos for lighting color differences. It’s a light tan it looks just like the listing photo! Super soft the grip on the back is completely waterproof . The puppy pee’d on it day 2 lol it washed right out and none of it got on my floor. I did not dry it in the dryer. Air dry only
